We had reservations July 6th through July 8th for 2 rooms at the Doubletree Hotel Tinton Falls - Eatontown NJ. We arrived late and notified the hotel that we would be late. The front desk was very nice and helped quickly to check us in and get our rooms. Upon arrival the rooms and after a long drive we wanted to shower but found only 2 bath towels in each room, even at one per person that is 4 short of what we would need. We called the front desk and were told we needed to come down to the front desk to retrieve towels. We did and were handed 4 towels. The floor of room 328 was also noted as dirty - old food scraps were seen in the area of the night table. The next day, we left for our day and expected to come back to made up rooms and refreshed with clean towels, etc. We found one room was made up and the other was not and again just 2 bath towels. During the day, we wanted to use the pool and wee told there were no pool towels available. Later in the evening someone brought to our room some pool towels. When checking out, the front desk staff was short and borderline rude when we asked for some cookies for the drive back. We were told ”we can't give you more than 4 without charging you. Isn't each room allowed up to 4 people? That would be 8 total. Our experience in this Doubletree was not the same we have come to expect from other Hilton Properties.

While this is a basic motel with few amenities, the overall experience was positive. The accommodations and cleanliness were fine. The really outstanding aspect was the welcoming and quality staff. We were greeted and treated really well! Kudos to them!
I really hate having to do this, but they quite literally left me no other option. TO THIS DAY, they offered us no resolution. Mick Murtha and Sheraton Hotels Eatontown, New Jersey sabotaged my wedding. If “sabotage” sounds like a strong word, it is. And yet, it is the most accurate and objectively true term to describe what Mick Murtha and Sheraton Hotels did to my wife and me. One (1) week (ONE WEEK) before our wedding day, we found out that our entire hotel block (which we had booked almost a year prior, mind you) had all been given away. My wife and I, as well as ALL of our guests (well over 100 people) literally had nowhere to stay. ”Computer error” is all Mick Murtha offered as an explanation. But here’s the thing. Computers don’t make mistakes; PEOPLE do. Not only did Mick Murtha never explain to us what actually happened, never take accountability or apologize for his unbelievably egregious mistake, never offer to remedy the situation in any way whatsoever, but initially, he also tried to NEVER EVEN TELL MY WIFE AND I THAT THIS WAS GOING ON. Yes, you read that correctly. With our wedding LITERALLY one week away, when Sheraton Hotels and Mick Murtha realized that an entire wedding block (over two dozen rooms) had been double-booked over due to a Sheraton staff member error - OH, excuse me; I mean a “computer error”… he did not even contact THE BRIDE NOR THE GROOM. We had to be the ones to reach out to HIM, once we started receiving a barrage of calls and text messages from concerned friends and family members. Forget about basic hospitality; this was a level of apathy and disrespect that borders on criminal. You see, SOME (but not all… because why would Sheraton Hotels be accurate or hospitable about a single thing??) of our wedding guests had started receiving emails letting them know they no longer had a room. One week before our wedding. And the bride and groom were never even notified by the hotel. Unimaginable, and genuinely disgusting. Eventually, many of our guests were moved into the Double Tree in Eatontown. Mick Murtha and The Sheraton were no help with this process whatsoever. Truthfully, they made matters even worse, even MORE convoluted and stressful, by suggesting that we move everyone into a much lower-star hotel which didn’t even have a bar. We had tried to explain that we really needed a bar at the hotel, as this would be where our afterparty would be held. But Mick Murtha and Sheraton continued with their nonstop disrespect and uselessness, so my wife and I did our best to remedy the situation on our own. In the end, no acceptable resolution was found. We had guests spread throughout three different hotels, which disrupted the shuttle route, the afterparty, and our entire weekend. But the worst part was the stress that my wife and I had to deal with thanks to Mick Murtha and Sheraton. On top of everything else going on in our lives and desperately trying to finalize our wedding planning… to add THIS on top of it
I wonder where all the complaints are truly coming from. I stayed here for a few days with my family for our jersey shore vacation and we thought it was wonderful! We stayed in a two bedroom king suite that was very clean and quiet. We thought the staff was very pleasant and never got the sense that there was anything with which to be concerned about. The hotel was very close to several dining options and retail locations and was a 15 minute drive at most to the Asbury Park Beach. Very convenient. I do want to be honest- I don't understand why the bathroom sink area in these suite rooms do not have some sort of privacy curtain or door. It does not make much sense to me. Do people enjoy being looked at while they are applying creams or brushing their teeth? I would suggest that management do what Disney World has done, i.e., set up a rod with a curtain at the very least. I will also admit that the rooms could use a refresh but that is in my mind a very nitpicky complaint. Everything was great!
