Finde Hotels in Willington

Just returned home after staying at this lovely hotel for 2 nights. What a fabulous place, the hotel rooms are well appointed and spotless, having been recently refurbished, the beds are huge and comfy. The staff, especially the young ones, are very professional, helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and local attractions to visit. All the staff could not do enough for you. We had dinner in the onsite restaurant on the first night and it was excellent. The breakfast are pretty amazing too, with lots of choice on the menu, all cooked to perfection. We spent 2 days looking round Beamish Open Air Museum, which is a must go see to visit as is the spectacular Durham Cathedral. The hotel came with free unlimited passes to The Auckland Project, but unfortunately we didn’t have time to use them. But a very good excuse to return to this wonderful hotel in the near future so that we can. We would also like to go and see Kynren, which I understand is very close by. I would have no hesitation in recommending this great place to stay.

Meine Frau und ich, zusammen mit unserem Hund, blieben eine Nacht auf dem Weg nach Schottland. Die Prüfung war schnell und effizient und wir wurden ein Hofhundefreundliches Zimmer zugewiesen. Das Zimmer war sauber und die Einrichtungen sind gut für einen einzigen Nachtaufenthalt. Wir waren in der Bar für einen Drink gefahren und wurden serviert und gesagt, wir wären in der Bar überall willkommen. Wir blieben in der Bar für ein Abendessen und die Mahlzeiten waren sehr gut mit großen Teilen und gut gekocht. Ich liebe besonders die kochenden Heimchips, die mit den Scampi kamen. Getränke waren vernünftig bezahlt wie das Essen. Nach dem Abendessen saßen wir im schönen Biergarten mit mehr Getränken, bis die Temperatur gesunken war. Das Frühstück war am nächsten Morgen ausgezeichnet, mit einer kontinentalen Auswahl und einem riesigen kochenden Frühstück, die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich während unseres Aufenthalts und wir fühlten unser Hund willkommen. Insgesamt ist ein ausgezeichneter erster Besuch, und ich zöge nicht, wenn wir in Zukunft auf diese Weise reisen.

The room was spotless and nicely furnished with THE comfiest bed! The bathroom was large and there were copious fluffy white towels (but no bathrobes as described). The views were tremendous and it was really close to Durham. The lounge area was lovely and accessible all the time. But…the breakfast was self-service continental style and we (and the other couple staying) loaded and put on the dishwasher which we’ve never done in a B&B before! The bedroom is within a conservatory and it was sooo hot. On our final night we asked for a fan as we couldn’t get a breeze from the window as the conservatory door was closed at night. The fan made for a better night’s sleep and I would suggest that the rooms have one in there permanently. On the confirmation email it did say that guest rooms were not guaranteed noise free. Maybe a touch of an understatement! We could hear the man next door having a good old yawn and if we weren’t talking ourselves, we could hear their conversations. Eeeek. It was a lovely location but I did think it was expensive. We used our Christmas present BuyAGift ‘2 night luxury stay’ vouchers and as we stayed a 3rd night, we paid the difference which was £230! Ouch.
