Das könnte nicht besser sein, der Gastgeber ist ein sehr verantwortungsvoller Gentleman, der den perfekten Service erbracht hat.

Das Hotel ist an einer interessanten Lage. Ein Teil davon ist am Enenzer Place und die ist gemäss Guiness Book of Records die kleinste Strasse der Welt (Länge 2.06 m). Hervorzuheben ist, dass das Hotel über einen Lift verfügt. Die Zimmer sind sauber und wie in Schottland nicht unüblich, eher klein bemessen. Das Hotel ist Familiengeführt und der Besitzer ist mit Leib und Seele Gastgeber. Deshalb fiel uns auf, dass ein Mitarbeiter im Hoteleigenen Bistro 1 und im Frühstücksraum nicht ganz in dieses Bild passt. Er bestimmt, wo man sitzen darf und das ist dann Gesetz! Aber sonst hat man einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in Wick.

The payment for our stay was collected before our stay, which we knew about, what we didn't expect to arrive after a long drive to find no-one to let us in. I have no issues with using a lock box to access a key or follow instructions to gain access. A printed notice on the door said the arrival times which was when we were there. A mobile number was quoted but went straight to voicemail. No other options came to mind so we were about to carry the luggage back down a flight of steps to the car and ask at a hotel If they had a room. At that point a family group came down the stairs inside, they explained how they had received a phone call earlier giving them the location of their keys. We tried it, found a key and let ourselves in. About 10 minutes later we received a call back from the owner who confirmed we were in the correct room, she had tried to ring (possibly once) , had not got through or left a message. As she was tied up with something she had asked/hoped her husband would be there. Next morning at breakfast she apologised again. If the room had been wonderful, it wasn't, I might say it was worth staying. The tiny shower cubicle door didn't fit and floor tiles badly broken, all due to the age of the building.
