Das Zimmer ist besonders ruhig (möglicherweise aufgrund der Tourismussaison). Das Hotel ist ein besonders reichhaltiges Frühstück. Die Landschaft außerhalb des Fensters ist der Golf. Es gibt ein bequemes Fußgängermuseum in der Nähe der Reise. Der Bus auf der Insel muss sich selbst überprüfen. Im Allgemeinen ist es gut. Das nächste Mal komme ich wieder zu leben!

Booked 3 rooms as 5 adults and 1x baby in group. Rooms spotless even though one room was meant to be with a sea view it wasn’t but we were all together so we didn’t complain, beds really comfortable only gripe was one of our mugs had a big chip so couldn’t drink out of it (cold sores etc) yuk! Breakfast ok meal of a night lovely but had to wait nearly 2 hours as we were told there was no capacity at present and to wait another half hour before putting order in again we tried 4 times !!! Do not go when a steam convention is on as staff can’t cope with drinks and food !! We even asked twice re a high chair and ended up going downstairs in breakfast room to get one as staff so busy !!! Emergency telephone on 3rd floor not working when my daughter locked herself out of room accidentally leaving a 1 year old alone whilst asking a passing child to run downstairs to ask for another pass card would stay again though but eat out at night somewhere else

The pros: the location is perfect for Douglas, the ferry terminal (15 minute walk away, mostly on the flat), and exploring the rest of the Isle of Man. Rooms were lovely, comfy bed, good bathroom size. (Room 18) Excellent selection for breakfast, all freshly cooked. Lots of variety. Staff very pleasant. Easy check in and we were able to leave our cases until the ferry departure on the last day. The cons: there is no lift. We were in room 18 which is at the very top of a five story building. The thighs hated me a few times! As a result, we didn't use the room as much as we normally do for quick freshen ups etc. Breakfast: although it tasted fantastic, as it was freshly cooked there was a wait. We factored in about 45 minutes for breakfast in the morning, and adapted our day accordingly. Despite the cons, it is still worth 5 stars.

Stayed at hotel for 5 nights this September. We had a 4th floor room overlooking the rooftops and with sea view. Room was immaculate , as was the en suite. Lift a little bit quirky, but got used to it. Breakfasts of a high standard with piping hot main corses including local bacon and sausages. We dined at the hotel every night and the quality of the food was very good with the roast beef dinner on a Sunday night the highlight. Very comfortable bar with a Happy Hour several nights and good selection of local beer, and gins. Staff very welcoming and catered for all needs. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, which justifies more than its 3 Star Grading.

Wir reservierten eine Suite und blieben in Zimmer 102 für 1 Nacht, als wir für die Hochzeit eines Freundes besuchten. Alles war fehlerfrei, unser Zimmer war schön mit einem imponierenden Badezimmer, Kleider, erstaunliche Meerblick, komplimentäre Minibar, aber was wirklich unser Aufenthalt war der wunderbare Kundenservice. Unser Flug war sehr früh, wir rufen vor, um zu sehen, ob wir eine frühere Kontrolle haben könnten, in der es geehrt wurde, wir waren so dankbar dafür, dass wir sehr müde waren von Reisen. Das Frühstück war lecker, eine Auswahl an gekochten Frühstücken und kontinentalen Buffet. Ein sehr angenehmer und entspannender Aufenthalt, danke The Halvard, wir hätten sicherlich wieder buchen.

This hotel on the front is one of the best places I've ever stayed in. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The shower is amazing and bed arereally comfortable! The breakfast is delicious. A 20 min walk from the town centre and 9 minutes from the electric railway. And if you don't want to walk, there is a bus stop going into the town located not far from the hotel. My room was located on the front with beautiful views of the bay. It is really worth staying here and I will definitely be back again!

Im Juli war es 3 Nächte für unser Hochzeitstag. Das Zimmer war nicht so groß wie ich ursprünglich gedacht hatte (die Bilder machen die Zimmer viel größere als sie sind), aber es war ok. Die Deckung war viel kleiner als die Deckung selbst, so dass es eine Klebe in der Mitte der Deckung gab. Die Deckung ging auch nicht an die Ecke des Bettes, so dass wir in der Mitte des Bettes schlafen. Die Zimmer sind sehr dunkel, so dass es schwierig ist, in einem Abend zu fertig zu werden und die Plug-Sockets sind nicht in der Nähe der Spiegel. Frühstück war Buffetstil für die ersten beiden Morgen. OK, wenn Sie gerne überkochte Eier, Bacon und Sauce. Toaster nur eine Seite des Brotes. Nicht, was man für ein angeblich 4* Hotel erwartet. Frühstück am letzten Morgen wurde bestellt, so war das OK. Der Park ist unterirdisch, was ein Bonus ist, aber es ist sehr eng zu bekommen. Nicht gut, wenn Sie ein größeres als das Durchschnittsauto haben. Würden wir hier noch einmal bleiben? Nein.

We booked 4 nights bed and breakfast for 2 adults. However, when we went for breakfast on day 1 the restaurant was locked. When we texted the owners we were told they had cancelled breakfasts at the end of September because it was uneconomical. Others also complained as noted in the comment book. We were told no refund was available as the breakfast was ”COMPLIMENTARY”. Also, the shower needs looking at as it could not be adjusted past the level of scorching hot. Not a particular problem with this hotel but in general visitors coming with their own cars should be informed that parking is a problem in Douglas. We were told we could park in the street but this proved impossible and we had to park about 20 minutes away on the promenade and time was limited.

The pros: the location is perfect for Douglas, the ferry terminal (15 minute walk away, mostly on the flat), and exploring the rest of the Isle of Man. Rooms were lovely, comfy bed, good bathroom size. (Room 18) Excellent selection for breakfast, all freshly cooked. Lots of variety. Staff very pleasant. Easy check in and we were able to leave our cases until the ferry departure on the last day. The cons: there is no lift. We were in room 18 which is at the very top of a five story building. The thighs hated me a few times! As a result, we didn't use the room as much as we normally do for quick freshen ups etc. Breakfast: although it tasted fantastic, as it was freshly cooked there was a wait. We factored in about 45 minutes for breakfast in the morning, and adapted our day accordingly. Despite the cons, it is still worth 5 stars.

FFreedom48718512620Stayed at hotel for 5 nights this September. We had a 4th floor room overlooking the rooftops and with sea view. Room was immaculate , as was the en suite. Lift a little bit quirky, but got used to it. Breakfasts of a high standard with piping hot main corses including local bacon and sausages. We dined at the hotel every night and the quality of the food was very good with the roast beef dinner on a Sunday night the highlight. Very comfortable bar with a Happy Hour several nights and good selection of local beer, and gins. Staff very welcoming and catered for all needs. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, which justifies more than its 3 Star Grading.

GGastnutzerDas Zimmer ist besonders ruhig (möglicherweise aufgrund der Tourismussaison). Das Hotel ist ein besonders reichhaltiges Frühstück. Die Landschaft außerhalb des Fensters ist der Golf. Es gibt ein bequemes Fußgängermuseum in der Nähe der Reise. Der Bus auf der Insel muss sich selbst überprüfen. Im Allgemeinen ist es gut. Das nächste Mal komme ich wieder zu leben!

GGastnutzerBooked 8 days stay in Douglas IOM at HQ Bar & Restaurant in one of their flat/homes ?? I instructed them I would have 2 senior gentlemen and was looking for easy access, a family room was offered sleeping 6 (so I thought), turned out it would only sleep 5 at a push, 1 king size bed, 2 single and sofa bed. But this had no bearing as we were 3. In booking the accommodation directly with HQ Bar I thought this would be on their premises, not so as mentioned before, a family room offered in a converted house. When we arrived we were told to head down a steep incline to our destination flat/room/ hotel?? On entry through a dodgy front door (which became an issue throughout our stay) then on through a corridor into our room, it be came clear how cold the room was when we entered. 1. No heating in spite of the radiator’s thermostat set at 5, towel radiator not on, was told due to the hot weather they had. 2. No fridge, again told hotel “does not” provide fridge. 3. No Bath mat was told would get one. Point 1. Having mentioned I had seniors radiators SHOULD BE ON especially the towel rail, no one wants damp hand or bath towels not to mention guests catching a cold. This was meant to be a family room catering for families, lack of the basic. Point 2. Having mentioned no fridge surely being a “family room” there would / should have been one especially if there were babies / children ie milk, etc, I’m my case it would be used to keep my insulin in. Point 3. No bath mat essential when having a seniors around was told it be will looked into. All three points made clear to the owners. After my issue were raised on more than one occasion things happened. Heating was turned on, towel rail not working the fix it man turned up and heat in towel rail restored. A fridge suddenly appeared which was a borrowed one which lasted 3 days and broke down, a new replacement arrived 2 days later a day before we were to depart. During the times there was no fridge available my insulin was stored on H&Q premises either in the fridge behind the bar or in the fridge in the kitchen, but a few of the staff didn’t know where when I came to retrieve my medication. The bath mat I found stuck behind the towel rail had seen better days and was filthy but we had to use it for safety reasons. House keeping was a quick replacement of towels and beds made up. The toilet was in desperate need of some bleach or something in fact the all of the bathroom needed a daily cleaning and at a stretch a vacuum around. There is so much more I go could on about especially the breakfast on offer but! This establishment has a 4 star rating but we were very very disappointed throughout our it would have been batter given a 1 star rating.

Rooms spotless even though one room was meant to be with a sea view it wasn’t but we were all together so we didn’t complain, beds really comfortable only gripe was one of our mugs had a big chip so couldn’t drink out of it (cold sores etc) yuk! Breakfast ok meal of a night lovely but had to wait nearly 2 hours as we were told there was no capacity at present and to wait another half hour before putting order in again we tried 4 times !!! Do not go when a steam convention is on as staff can’t cope with drinks and food !! We even asked twice re a high chair and ended up going downstairs in breakfast room to get one as staff so busy !!! Emergency telephone on 3rd floor not working when my daughter locked herself out of room accidentally leaving a 1 year old alone whilst asking a passing child to run downstairs to ask for another pass card would stay again though but eat out at night somewhere else

This hotel on the front is one of the best places I've ever stayed in. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The shower is amazing and bed arereally comfortable! The breakfast is delicious. A 20 min walk from the town centre and 9 minutes from the electric railway. And if you don't want to walk, there is a bus stop going into the town located not far from the hotel. My room was located on the front with beautiful views of the bay. It is really worth staying here and I will definitely be back again!

Please note I did not stay at the Hydro, but close by, overall from what I could see, generally speaking, the accommodation in IOM is of average standard (we usually go to London so maybe I am being unfair to make comparisons) however from what I saw if I was to go again I believe the Hydro is were I would book, from the exterior in my opinion was far above the others, it seemed to accommodate bus tours and older folk, hope this is a help and trust you enjoy. If you are staying a number of days and intend to travel about using trains and buses, service is excellent, get the GO Explore card, and if you are flying get the card at the information desk at the airport and you will get the bus just outside and use the card immediately.

Nach einem sehr frühen Fährstart von 2.15 am Morgen dann eine 4-Stunden-Schnittstelle vom Vereinigten Königreich an das Hotel um 6.30pm Ich war vollkommen beeindruckt von der Büropersonal, die mir meinen Zimmerschlüssel gab, weil es bereit war, zu gehen und dies ermöglichte mir, zu duschen und Verändern und gehen Sie zum 7am Frühstück, bevor Sie ein paar Stunden zu Bett gehen, damit ich nicht zu viel von meinem Mini-Pause auf der Insel Man verpassen. Dies ist das dritte Mal, dass ich dieses Hotel benutzt habe und es weiterhin benutzt, so tun alle meine Familie, wenn sie die Insel besuchen.

GGastnutzerWe booked 4 nights bed and breakfast for 2 adults. However, when we went for breakfast on day 1 the restaurant was locked. When we texted the owners we were told they had cancelled breakfasts at the end of September because it was uneconomical. Others also complained as noted in the comment book. We were told no refund was available as the breakfast was ”COMPLIMENTARY”. Also, the shower needs looking at as it could not be adjusted past the level of scorching hot. Not a particular problem with this hotel but in general visitors coming with their own cars should be informed that parking is a problem in Douglas. We were told we could park in the street but this proved impossible and we had to park about 20 minutes away on the promenade and time was limited.
