We had a wonderful Ruby Wedding lunch party celebration for 70 people at Grovefield House Hotel on Sunday. Our guests were able to choose in advance from a three-course menu and commented on how delicious each of their choices were. The children were also able to preorder choices from their own three-course menu. Hotel Manager Ashley was helpful, efficient and highly professional throughout. We were grateful to him and to Lauren, Shelley, Chinwe, Adam, and all the lovely team on the day for their friendly, professional and generous hard work. They could not have done more for us. Guests with families also commented on how helpful they were with the children. The tables were laid out beautifully and we loved the pretty flowers and candles added by florist Debby Connell. Thank you all so much for a fantastic and memorable day, we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. We look forward to seeing you again before long and enjoying more of the exciting new things on offer at Grovefield!

Tried to check in at desk but couldn't. Someone came out and went to a cupboard and spoke to us with their backs to us so we couldn't hear them. Pleasant enough chap, but a silly place to have their computer located. Got in to room Friday 4pm. Came downstairs to meet family. No one behind bar. All serving at a wedding. Had to keep looking for staff to buy a drink. So many people waiting. So very expensive too. Had dinner in the Brasserie about 20 of us. The staff were amazingly helpful, although not enough of them so very slow. Got up and couldn't get out of our room. Called 0 to call reception. No response. ( This was the case every time. ) Thank goodness there was not a fire, apparently the phone had been disconnected to reception. I had to call a friend who went to reception. Someone came to room, got someone else, maintenance called, they came and basically kicked the door in. We were told to go to breakfast, they would locate us elsewhere and keep an eye on stuff in room. Breakfast was delicious, plenty to eat. Hubby went back to room while I met another member of family. When I got back to room we had not yet been moved. Waited another 20 mins. Hubby went down. Moved to room on 2nd floor. Said they would help us down when leaving Sunday. We then had a mad rush to get ready as parents of groom and got to wedding at Tudor Barn with minutes to spare. Checking out and, of course, no one was answering the phone in reception. A cleaner helped us down with our stuff. Upon checking out we were told no phone was connected to reception. So dangerous to lead people into believing help is at other end of phone when, in reality, this couldn't have been further from the truth. So glad they wedding was not held there. The staff did their best and were apologetic. Certainly would not recommend at all.

Bought an overnight spa break voucher for my sister's birthday. I'll start with the negative - impossible to contact the hotel - no-one answers the phone and you can't leave a message. Tried 3 different email addresses over the course of a week and finally managed to get a response and get booked in. I wasn't expecting much due to the many poor reviews, so we went on the basis that it would be a 'Fawlty Towers' experience (those who are older will know what I mean)! We couldn't have been more wrong! The hotel is beautiful. Our room was lovely, clean and well appointed. Dinner was fantastic - gorgeous food beautifully presented, the dining room is stunning, service was great (only negative is over £10 for one medium glass of wine is a little overpriced in my opinion!). Spa was also amazing. The treatment rooms are underground, like vaults with beautiful exposed brick work. We both had a full body massage - my sister said hers was the best massage she's ever had. Breakfast also really good with plenty of choice and cooked to order (much nicer than a buffet where the hot food has been sitting around). Overall we really couldn't fault it and I've already bought another voucher for next year.

The Clivedon House Hotel is a beautiful and elegant Palace with a great history. The Lobby Hall is very impressive with furniture, wood, paintings and the stairs. We enjoyed very much our room with antiques, the marble bathroom and also the dining room including the food. The large breakfast buffet is presented in a seperate and very beautiful room. The Hotel Gardens and the Park are famous in England and in a very short walk we went down directly to the River Thames. The walk through the forest just behind Clivedon was very pleasant for us too. The Hotel has a large heated outdoor pool and also a Treatment Spa where we bought a luxury shampoo as well as shampoos that we had in the hotel room. All staff members were very kind and helpful. We can highly recommend Clivedon House and we are looking forward to staying there again in the near future. The Clivedon Butler Pantry is a very good idea and much more stylish and better than an ordinary mini bar in the room and very special.

The hotel undeniably stands out for its beautiful location right on the Thames. The view is simply idyllic, with majestic swans gliding gently on the water, creating a peaceful atmosphere perfect for relaxation. The option to explore the area with a tourist bus is also a great advantage. The service provided by the staff is particularly noteworthy. They are extremely polite and accommodating, making the stay very pleasant. The hotel’s breakfast is also commendable—both the continental and English breakfast offer a good variety to start the day off right. Unfortunately, the rooms fall short of the usual 3-star standard. The furnishings are noticeably outdated, and maintenance is lacking. The windows, in particular, leave a poor impression: they are dirty and, in some cases, even covered with cobwebs. This could be problematic for guests with dust allergies, as a certain level of dustiness is also noticeable in the rooms. Another downside is the lack of an elevator. This is especially challenging for older guests or those with mobility issues. Although the helpful staff offers to carry luggage up and down the stairs, the stairways still present a significant obstacle. Overall, the stay was pleasant, and the air-conditioned rooms are certainly a plus, especially on hot days. If the hotel were to modernize and better maintain the rooms, it could live up to its potential and match its beautiful location. Until then, it remains a hotel with both strengths and weaknesses, where the service and location are the main highlights.

Wie, ich vermute, eine Reihe von Gästen, die wir reserviert haben, da wir eine Reservierung in einem Bray’s Restaurant hatten. Unsere Abendessenreservierung wurde aufgrund eines Covid-Ausbruchs storniert, aber ich dachte, wir würden trotzdem gehen. So glücklich, dass wir das gemacht haben. Wir wurden auf einen riesigen Zimmer mit Blick auf den Fluss mit eigenem Balkon und massivem Badezimmer upgradiert. Das Dekor ist fabulös, Lage am Fluss sehr ruhig, schönes Frühstück, Ehrliche Bar mit großen Weinen und willkommene Gastgeber. Ich wunderbare Antithese an Ihr übliches Hotelklon. Im Sommer haben sie ein Flussboot für Reisen oder für die Ankunft im Stil am Wasserside Inn. Socken Sie seine Persönlichkeit. Wir werden zurück sein.

Despite making life difficult during my trip as work stresses spilled over into my stay, the staff was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They were always friendly and asked how my stay was going every time I walked in the door. They also were able to recommend places to get any type of meal that we needed as well. Exceptional service. Exceptional environment, clean and always tidy.
