Finde Hotels in La Armuña

We grabbed four nights here on something of a whim and built an enjoyable and informative northern Spain trip around our stay at the Hacienda. The bones of this splendid property are a 14th century monastery where Columbus – along with academics from the nearby Salamanca University and representatives of the royalty -- met to finalize his trip to the New World and hand over the check to make it possible. (I do not hold this against the present owners.) The exquisite renovation is even more astonishing after viewing photos of the sad state of the buildings in the early 20th century. Architectural brilliance and craftsmanship are evident throughout, from the spacious bedrooms with hand-hewn ceiling timbers to the inviting variety of sitting areas, complete with fireplace, period artwork and comfortable furniture. We ate dinner at the hotel several times, and each was delicious. And of course wine (the Syrah and tempranillo are sourced from their vineyards in the nearby Douro Valley) from the hotel’s own winery is available for tasting and to enjoy at your table. Included breakfast was ordered from a menu and was consistently excellent. I enjoyed a massage in the old stone building that once (and still does!) housed the machinery that regulated water flow into the mill race, which still runs cheerfully under the main building. With a special nod to Pablo, whose knowledge of Spanish history and wines was exceeded only his charm and hospitality, the staff was uniformly helpful and welcoming. This is a place to relax and enjoy the gardens and an exquisite property that has incorporated modern comforts in a beautifully restored 800-year-old piece of history.

I love this place! Amazing historic building in a beautiful location, quiet and peaceful, fantastic tasteful rooms, huge comfy beds, very helpful and friendly staff - I can’t recommend highly enough. It was cold and wet weather when we stayed but all the rooms were warm and welcoming. We shall definitely come back, hopefully in better weather so we can explore the grounds. We enjoyed the estate wine too! Thanks to the staff for exceptionally good service.

Mi opinión es del restaurante. La comida es excelente y el trato exquisito. Hemos comido seis personas y vuestra experiencia no ha podido ser mejor. Todo lo que hemos pedido estaba riquísimo y las raciones eran muy muy generosas. En cuanto al personal, no pueden ser más profesionales y amables.

Hemos estado este fin de semana un grupo de más de 30 personas en un evento de amigas, y es imposible habernos tratado mejor. El personal ha sido de lo más amable, respetuoso, servicial… al tiempo que divertido. Especial mención a nuestros camareros preferidos Chely, Raúl y María (creo… la que estuvo en el desayuno con nosotras). Han sido súper agradables y divertidos. Aparte el resto del hotel ha estado fenomenal. Está situado a las afueras de Salamanca, muy fácil y rápido para entrar, y con aparcamiento gratuito en la puerta, no se puede pedir más, y para ir el centro un taxi nos costó baratísimo, así que la situación no nos pesó. Las habitaciones muy buenas, la cama muy cómoda… No hay pega ninguna vamos. Muy recomendable

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist gut. Zu Fuß lässt sich alles gut erreichen. Die Zimmer sind groß und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück gab es im Café nebenan. Man konnte ein Heißgetränk, einen Orangensaft und ein Gebäck (Croissant/Kuchen/ etc.) aussuchen. Die Mitarbeiter sind ebenfalls sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
