Beautiful hotel and services

We stayed at Lythe Hill for our second wedding anniversary and well, it was simply beautiful. As an IHG member I booked through the app, I got members discount which is always a bonus. We arrived at the hotel later than planned due to traffic but the staff were nothing but helpful and sympathetic. We had missed our dinner booking at the restaurant but it was swiftly rearranged making us instantly more relaxed. We had been upgraded to a suite which was a lovely touch. The room was nice and spacious, it had everything we needed. It's a bit of a shame that it didn't have a bath as we both love a bath and there should have been space for one really but we didn't want to complain. The room was clean and modern but without taking away from the hotels character. We ate at the onsite restaurant and the food was good, we only had a main course but it was delicious. Unfortunately half the wines on the wine list had been substituted or simply wasn't available. This needs looking at I feel as paying £50 for a bottle of wine for it not to be what you were expecting isn't ideal. The staff were friendly and helpful and I feel this issue was beyond them. Although the service was good I personally felt the mandatory 12.5% service charge was a little steep. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice, coffee was okay, pastries, fresh fruit and a selection of cooked options available. Staff for breakfast weren't so great. Still friendly but very disorganised or possibly just under staffed, they were running about but nobody seemd to have a specific role, we had to order our cooked breakfast while the gentleman had hands full of dishes as we'd waited 10+ minutes trying to get the attention of anyone at all and we had waited 10+ minutes to be seated and the restaurant was about 2 thirds empty. We had free access to the spa until 2pm which was a nice touch, we can't comment on it as we didn't use it. The views and surroundings are lovely. The hotel is very tranquil and in a lovely setting. Lots of parking available but some of it is up or down hill and there's quite a lot of steps in certain areas of the hotel so if you struggle with your mobility it would be wise to make this known at the time of booking. Overall we would go back if in the area.

Amazing stay at the Lythe Hill Hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are lovely and clean, Spa facilities and pool is lovely with plenty of space to relax and sunbathe outside (we had amazing weather, but I’m not sure we can credit the hotel for that to ). The staff are lovely and nothing is ever too much trouble - they always seem to be very helpful and chatty. We had dinner at the hotel as well as Afternoon Tea. The standard of food for both was excellent. The hotel never feels like it’s too busy of crowded - if you are after a really nice relaxing break away this is the perfect hotel for you.

Perfect for celebrating our ten year anniversary. Service from the staff food and setting was sublime. I’d highly recommend it for a long weekend to recuperate and switch off in luxury. Staff expecially Mitch made sure that all your needs were met. Definitely looking forward to visiting it for a long weekend again soon.

Myself and my Wife recently had our wedding day at Lythe Hill. Right from the start the day ran smoothly and thanks to Helen (wedding Organiser)the day was perfect. Helen and her staff were just amazing and so helpful, nothing was to much trouble It was a delight to entrust Lythe Hill with our wedding day. Our guests all had a lovely day Thank you Nick And Alex Chapman-Smith.

Rather disappointing. We had room 301. Ground floor. By the carpark so don't expect a view. Zero privacy and cars passing the window. Damp on the wall. Bath surround falling apart, bathroom mirror light not working. Breakfast was a farce. Poorly trained staff, lots of people complaining as various hot items didn't get replaced when they ran out. Plates not cleared away. Various parts of spa out of action. Lots of little things all over the place not right or broken. Hole in the roof in the bar. It's very clear that management isn't in control and there is a complete lack of attention to detail. Shame.

Our stay was very enjoyable and it was a great use of IHG credit card points. Room was very spacious and well appointed. Buildings had great English charm which added to our vacation. Our light dinner on our first night was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was also good and had a large variety of offerings. Amy, our breakfast server, was so friendly and did an excellent job taking care of us.

Stayed this weekend with my family. Overall we had a good time. But things could be improved. Issues over room allocations. Our lunch on Saturday took an hour to arrive - sandwiches and cheese platter? When they arrived they were v disappointing. Dinner in restaurant very good. Grounds and rooms lovely. Our main issue - charging guests £15 each for a robe? I have stayed in many spa hotels and never had to pay to use a robe. Please look at this policy - it’s ridiculous. Pool and spa area very good but let down by the robe situation. Staff all very friendly.

What a Lovely hotel on beautiful grounds! We had our mini honeymoon here. Very clean, staff all friendly and helpful, the spa is lovely, I had two treatments a back massage and a facial both by Samantha who is an amazing therapist it was the best back massage I've ever had! Highly recommend here and this hotel. Only downsides where the jacuzzi is attached to the pool so is cold and the reception that was on the morning of 6.10.24 she was saying to another customer how they where out all night she had a hangover then wasn't going to give me a robe which was included in my stay luckily the therapist that was sat next to her corrected her. Other than those two things w head the best stay 😁
