I recently stayed at Baan Huen Phen Hotel, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few setbacks. The hotel’s location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old city, making it easy to explore Chiang Mai. Many great restaurants, cafes, and shops are within walking distance, which was super convenient.
The hotel itself is quite charming, with pretty and traditional decor that gives it a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was a highlight, offering a variety of delicious options that were freshly prepared each morning. The staff were also friendly and very helpful, always ready with recommendations or a smile.
However, my stay in Room 205 had some notable downsides. Unfortunately, the bathroom had a persistent sewage odor, which was unpleasant. Additionally, the shower in Room 205 struggled to produce hot water, making for a less comfortable experience.
Overall, Baan Huen Phen has a lot going for it, but I would recommend avoiding Room 205 until these issues are addressed. If they are, it could be a fantastic place to stay given its great location and friendly atmosphere.
