DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel St. Louis - Chesterfield

Great location next to entertainment. Clean rooms, though a bit dated. Check in was smooth. Service wasn't very responsive when asked for pillows or a missing remote. Never got a remote for a two night stay. Pillows never delivered first night after going to the front desk to ask for them.

This hotel is old and in bad need of an upgrade. The rugs are worn, paint is chipping off walls in my room, the tv offerings are old cable, the chairs in the restaurant are torn, the old style ac units in the rooms are loud and the power receptacles on the room desk are so old they no longer hold a charger. There are many newer, nicer choices nearby.

The hotel is outdated and in dire need of a refurb. The rooms are dark and what hotel doesn’t have standard USB’s ? We are Hilton diamond members so breakfast was included. It’s served buffet style and I do have to say the bacon and fried potatoes were quite tasty. Just a warning they share the facility with an indoor atheistic club and they are not nice to hotel guests. We went to take our grand daughter who is 4 to the pool Saturday morning and and 5 ladies were in the shallow end and doing some aquatic class and the instructor ( I assume ) told us we had to either one stay out of the pool causing her to cry or 2 stay in the deep end where even as an adult was difficult to touch. Luckily she can swim so we stayed out of the old bitties way. I think the hotel needs to tell its guest this information to avoid let down by children. We went back again that night and it was regular hotel guests having fun. Also the men playing basketball were also fairly rude and acted like we were a bother just walking thru to get back to the hotel area. It’s an odd set up. Just want others to be aware.

Long story short, there were bodily fluids on our bed that our child put their blanket, pillow, etc. on. I reported the problem and then we got moved to another room that stunk like something rotten and the electronic door lock worked sporadically. They tried to offer free breakfast to fix things which is a complete insult - let alone that I already paid for it. They finally gave us a small discount but feel they did not take care of us like they should have!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU STAY HERE

Overall it is a good hotel. It is a credit only facility so be prepared for that. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The menu for lunch and dinner were limited. Dinner is ordered through the lobby bar or room service only.

Hotel staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. The attached fitness center and full size pool were nice and well maintained. Overall the hotel is very nice but the room and furniture were a little dated and worn.

This hotel feels like it has been neglected for at least a decade or more. Dirty and stained carpets throughout the hotel, understaffed in restaurant and overall just dirty! This property should loose the Hilton name for sure.

This hotel is NOT worth the money! Yes, they have pools, an athletic facility, and conference rooms. However, for the price of the rooms(ours being a deluxe king room) I would expect at the the most basic amenities like a microwave, refrigerator, and free breakfast. Instead, there is no microwave, you have to pay $10 for a refrigerator, and you have to pay for breakfast. The rooms are very dated. Our room(301) had tiles that were cracked and/or separating from the wall. Most of the staff were extremely rude and didn’t show much care for the guests. Our first couple of nights there was no smell of ********* in our room. However, the third night there was, and it was extremely strong. I made the front desk aware of it and she rolled her eyes and said they would send someone to check on it. That never happened. I happened to cross paths with a maintenance worker and had them smell the smell. He confirmed the smell and also reported it to the front desk. Again, nothing was ever done. My family had to deal with it all night. The prices at the on-site bars and the on-site “restaurant” are ridiculous! A $4 delivery fee and a 4.5% up charge for room service. A bottle of domestic beer is $12. I strongly urge people to spend their money elsewhere!

When I booked the Hotel for my best friend's visit I was told they have a standard airport shuttle for $15 flat fee. This was a key component for a satisfying stay this far from St Louis airport, near me, and still provide a reasonable way to hop out of town and back to work after her vaca to enjoy the wonderful Chihuly glass exhibit showing at Mo Botanical Gardens. Needless to say, even though the gym, swim & jacuzzi facility are great, this is a deal breaker since the Uber is $60 to $70. No reason to misinform a customer, very disappointing and unprofessional. Won't recommend but warn my friends instead.
