First time in S hotel in Chennai with my girlfriend. Our stay was indeed a memorable one just because of one bad experience. We stayed for 4days and 3 nights. When we came to check in on 14 dec 24, the room was not ready. A lady told me wait. After a considerable time, I approached the staff to expedite my check in since I was running a fever. I was given room with twin beds but actually I booked a queen size bed. I was too sick and I just needed to rest due to my fever. Room was small and crammed. All were fine except the Tv was not working. We called in the technician at least 3 times to get our tv working. 2 different technician came and gave us two different conflicting instructions to turn on the TV. After which we managed to turn on the TV on our own. The first two days were fine , they made up our room as requested for a comfy stay. Now the finale was the last night, we wanted to try the hotel restaurant for dinner, since we have not tried the food there. After our shopping, we went to have our dinner there at 830pm. we were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered coffee, pomegranate juice, salad and guotiao goreng. There were 2 more male guests entered the restaurant to place their orders. Salad came in 15 mins. Cofee was served 35 mins later. Pomegranate juice in 35 mins. But our guotiao goreng was not served. We saw them serving the other table which further irritated us. We were famished but we just try to called off the guotiao since its taking forever to come. We were literally trying to check what actually went wrong in our order. The Manager, Prasad, who happened to be there did not respond or react to our queries. He was expressionless that further triggered our anger. He simply told his staff to settle us bluntly. We felt so offended. We settled the bill and wanted to head back to our room. The overall incharge, Mr Gunasekar, kept apologizing to us for their mistake and even volunteer to send the food to the room which we declined. We were totally taken back Prasad's reply and unresponsiveness. We felt so humiliated. We did not get any respect as the hotel guest. Most of the staff apologized even though it was not their fault. But Prasad never apologize for his mistake. He is also part of the management right? And he simply walked away. This incident has tarnished the image of the hotel. Other staff, kumaran , Viknesh, Usha were trying to apologize and do a service recovery the next day when we checked out. But this incident has caused us to lose our appetite and sleep on that night. We may never want to come back to this hotel....
