The London Inn

the reason for getting any mark at all is purely down the the young lady at the bar. the room was not ready upon arrival, the stair carpet should have been a give away, not a clean spot on it. the room stunk of sewage and possibly explained why it was not ready. the shower was so bad I refused to use it, the toilet had a contraption attached that sounded horrendous when flushed. only 2 hangars and coat hooks for clothing, no wardrobe space at all. if you have the money for a room at this price then go spend it elsewhere as this was the worst experience of hospitality I have come across and having read the guest book begin to wonder where they actually stayed.

I'm not a big fan of pub stays but this is a decent one. The problems they usually present is creaky floorboards and doors that make for noise at night and in the morning. Also the sound bleed from the pub is not insignificant. I could hear the staff talking as they cleaned and closed up. The single beds are too small - why does any 'hotel' have narrow singles? Other than that, pubs always look like they could do with a make-over, even when there's just been one! The shower cublicle had no shelf for shampoo, etc. There were no USB ports for phone charging in the bedroom. The full breakfast was good enough. I'd say a full English should include black pudding, which it didn't, and the cooked breakfast itself was a little on the dry side (bacon and especially the sausage), but it was filling and with choice of cereals and juice, toast and preserves. Overall a not unpleasant stay, but I'm still a chain hotel boy. I like my 24 hour reception, lifts and corridors rather than lots of eneven floors and creaky floorboards and copious fire doors. I would have given 3.5 stars but I didn't feel it was a 4. I think it's better than a 3.

This old couch house is very quirky because of its age but the cleanliness, food quality and staff could not be beaten. Everything had been done to make visitors comfortable to a very high standard. My full English breakfast the first morning was the best I have had anywhere. It was not a fluke as the second day was just as good as was the dinner. Of course it will be noisy up till around 11pm at weekends as it is such a popular local pub on a main road, but quiet for most of the time.

Great pub with rooms recommended great value..good staff and bar food very good lovely breakfast too, triple room was great for the races. Parking is a challenge but no real drama if your patient and happy to walk a few minutes, early check in available too👍

Arrived early on the Sunday check in was easy, Warm and friendly staff, Quiet room was surprising as it was close to the London Road which is a busy main road. Top breakfast, lovely sleep during the day after working nights, comfortable bed and pillows and warm room.

A Fantastic pub in the village of Charlton Kings. Great beer's and food. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Just a shame the lady behind the bar doesn't have a clue what she is doing. Not stayed here so cannot comment on the rooms.

Wasn’t our worst hotel experience…but won’t stay again. No free parking…you will have to park well away from the London Inn and walk with your luggage. We had a twin room. Smaller than my bathroom..much dirtier than my bathroom. Hotel offers food. We opted to share a pizza. Sadly, the chef forgot the tomato base. Host was lovely and welcoming…though when we asked for a “tab” he insisted on keeping my bank card ! Won’t be returning and don’t recommend

We arrived late on, the reception behind the bar was very welcoming. We were able to get checked in and then meet friends for a drinks. All very relaxed. The rooms were good. Then a good breakfast in the morning and on our way. Thanks for a great stay.

We were a party of 7, had a lovely meal here. The food was plentiful and very tasty and tge service was really good. Our server was really attentive and couldn't have been nicer. He was also very kind to our dogs which made the meal even more enjoyable.
