Residence Inn Phoenix Chandler/Fashion Center

We stayed here the first night of our road trip to Texas for the eclipse. Honestly, I don't remember much other than we had a two room suite for some reason. But it must've been ok because I don't recall anything wrong other than that the hotel was sold out for the return trip so I ended up booking at the Drury for that.

My room did not have any working central heat/AC. There were temporary window units set up that were very problematic - not all had the capability for heat, and the outside temperature was cold. Further, because they were temporary units, the blinds would not close all the way because of the duct leading outside the window. Air from the outside was coming in through the partially open window as well as street noise. I brought this up to the front desk clerk, and all she replied was "sorry, we're working on it" - however that was no help to me as it wasn't fixed, nor was I offered another room. For the price I paid, I could have stayed at a cheap motel several times over and at least had working heat. I'm very disappointed with this stay and the lack of customer service I received when raising the issue.

The rooms are the standard Residence Inn / Marriott rooms. The breakfast also is what you expect. The location is close to the highway. The front desk and breakfast staff are friendly and helpful - all of them. What would it take to get a 5 star rating? Better coffee at breakfast.

Stayed here a couple of nights to do some holiday shopping and catch a game on Sunday. Close to a lot of restaurants, literally across the street from mall. Staff very nice and accommodating. The woman who checked us in was simply outstanding, so nice and welcoming. We reserved two apartments, they handled our family needs very well. They have a 15 dollar per night parking fee, they waived it without us even asking. Breakfast was well done. Oatmeal was good. Twelve toppings available. The staff in breakfast area very nice. Kids played basketball, had fire pit going. Very good stay.

Stayed here during Spring Break of 2023. The hotel is close to dinning and shopping. It is a bit older, but looks like it has been maintained for its age. They have a small weight room and pool w/ hot tub. They also had a fire pit and bags area. Used the laundry room and had trouble with the dryer but they assisted us in resolving the issue. In the morning they had breakfast area which seemed a bit small but was never crowded. They offered Waffles, cereal, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches as well as a meat (bacon or sausage). The sausage was OK but the bacon was very brittle. We stayed in a two room suite. The beds were a bit soft but not too bad. I had a few complaints about my stay. 1. The pillows were just not comfortable. I don't know what it was, but I rotated through several, and I could never find one that was comfortable to sleep with. 2. The room got hot overnight. Both my wife and I woke up a few nights around 2 am very hot and sweaty. Set the thermostat to 67 a bed time and it still got hot over night. 3. As a bigger guy, it seemed odd that they had a round toilet bowl in that bath with a king bed and an elongated toilet bowel in the bath with queen bed (and that elongated one was very low to the floor). The round bowl start to run a little later in our stay. 4. My daughter complained about bugs in the queen bathroom on the second day. I checked it out but only saw one or two and killed them. On the last day, I noticed them in our bathroom too. When I was picking up towels on that day, I noticed several behind the door of the queen bedroom. I took a video of them and let the clerk know but they didn't seem concerned. It was an OK hotel stay, but I probably wouldn't return.

My family and I stayed here for 3 weeks while in search of a new home. The rooms were spacious and offered all the necessary amenities including refrigerators and great Wi-Fi. My kids absolutely loved the complementary hot breakfast. The staff was amazing, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Top notch customer service from the front desk to the breakfast crew. We appreciate you!

Clean and comfortable. I’ve tried servers hotels in the Phoenix area and this has by far been the best experience. CoCo is the Breakfast Attendant here and she takes pride in her job and it shows. The breakfast is the best I have experienced. She should be training other locations. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

Hotel was fine. Coco was FANTASTIC! The breakfast was great and fresh every morning. Coco came around and spoke with me several times. You can tell she loves what she does and takes pride in in.thank you Coco for making my morning start better.

I had high expectations given the glowing reviews for this hotel but the truth is it's an old-school Residence Inn with a tired interior and old carpeting. Maybe I was in a room that was not remodeled but my room just did not seem to be well-maintained (filthy vanity and sliding closet doors off the tracks). Nothing about the room shouted remodeled or even recently updated. Front desk at night was extremely helpful but did not advise me that there would be a $15 parking charge per night, which is ridiculous for this area. Just park at the Springhill adjacent to this property (until they start charging too). Not sure who has been writing all these positive reviews.
