Honestly, im not a difficult person. In all the years travelling I slept in many places. Some were dirty and dirtcheap, others were top dollar and delivered quality. You get what you pay for is allways fair. In my opinion villa Schiatti is not one of those places. We booked a ''superior'' two person room for 137€ for a night. If I pay a price like this, I expect everything to be perfect. The bathroom is old, from the look of it, it was constructed before 2000's. The shower cabin is this small that its a task to reach your feet. The door was squeaky and didn't close well. Also in some edges there was black mold, not much. It wouldn't be a big deal if I payed a reasonable price. But for this price I expect a very good shower that is clean from top to bottom, no excuses. To take something from the showerfloor, there is no other way than opening the door to reach it. In the evening we dined in the restaurant. Food was good, but we had a lot better for less money, even in small bars all over Italy. Hospitality of the staff was not great, but not bad either. After we returned from dinner, around 21h, we found that in the room the heater was permanently on. Temperature was 26 degrees. Upon calling reception they didn't know what to do immediately. We asked several times to fix it and eventually I went with them to technical space to turn it all off. By that time it was well past 23.30h. Eventually it got fixed and we could start to cool down the room with the airconditioning. Off course this is not what you pay for. If you want to sleep, you just want to go to bed whenever you choose. There is also a minibar, upon opening it there was a bottle of water that was 1/3 emptied by a previous guest. Reception kindly offered to switch this for us because cleaning had forgotten to check it. But its a sign how things are done... Tidyness could be better, dust on the closet, the mold in the shower. We even had some dead bugs hanging around on the ceiling, cracks in the paint Allthough the ceiling is made of concrete, we could easily hear the upstairs neighbours walking around. It felt more like an Italian appartement in a normal neighbourhood then a hotel. Breakfast in the morning was plentyfull and okay. When we checked out and staff asked how the stay was, we were honest. But allthough they were listening, we could feel there was no interest of doing something with this. They took 4€ of the bill of the restaurant and that was it. The whole place feels like it could use an update or a fresh wind. Conclusion: if I could turn back time, I would per direct cancel my reservation. We slept in places that were 50€ a night which were worth there money triple times. Almost feels like I was robbed.
