Decameron Cartagena - All Inclusive

Not worth it! So many hotels around to chose! please don't come here. I came here bcs I wanted to get to know the city and thought it would be convenient to be centrally located. Bad service. No AC!!!!!!, no TV!! ( cable was not working), building is old, dirty and downgraded. A lot of ppl complaining it was hot in their rooms, the rooms are very old, cracked walls and closets falling and when I complained to supervisor , he said he could only listen but not do anything. What type of service is that? The lock of the door doesn't work, it was hard to open the door... everyday is something new, and more people that complain and don't do anything about it, it's all pocket money and not intended to upgrade hotel nor improve customer service. It's been day 2 and still have the AC down, no rooms available with AC and they forgot all about the complains. Bed sheets they use the same, they don't give extra clean towels!... If you are one that looks at reviews before going somewhere, please take this one seriously. If you want nice hotel and amenities go to a different hotel, Not this hole of hotel.

This place was a disappointment. We arrived at 4 pm and still had to wait about 40 minutes for our room to be ready. Also, on the day of arrival, you won't have the option to eat in the hotel unless they have left over space in the Italian restaurant. We tried the Meats restaurant and the Seafood restaurants as well, you will have to wake up at 7am to make reservations at this restaurants which were not good and with little meal options. The meat was very hard and chewy. The seafood was also not very good. Lots of their dishes have soy sauce. They only had the most cheap national liquor, and they served the drinks in little old plastic cups. I also did not enjoy not having hot water in the rooms. If you want to do the Baru day pass, you'll have to get in line before 7am, same thing if you want to use the beach chairs and umbrellas. I do not recommend this hotel. The personal is very nice.

Worst hotel, long lines, they do not respect check in times so you wont get a room any time close to the check in, pools are overcrowded and there are not enough seats. If you are an international travel please stay away from this place, else you’ll spend precious time trying to get basic amenities and waste precious vacation time not to mention your patience.

First it is NOT on beach it is across from beach and hotel looks like a resort from outside but once inside you will see it is an old outdated hotel with small rooms and you hear everything from outside. There is no security in your room other than a latch over your door there is no deadbolt or anything. You can't control your air conditioning it is central. Staff is not hospitable and if you don't speak Spanish your in trouble cause there is no English and pool is very small and area is not clean. I highly suggest that you don't stay here.

The beds were comfortable. Rated 4.5. Staff was excellent and friendly. Even though I could not speak Spanish and most of them could not speak English, they made every effort to help accommodate me if they could including directions drinks service etc. my rating for friendliness and effort 5. Check in horrible. People some to arrive in droves at a time due to plane arrivals bus arrivals all inclusive packages in general. The issue is not enough space or staff for large group arrivals. Understand you are in hotel alley and space is limited. My rating for check in and out 1 but not staff fault only due to large groups all at once. Food not great but not bad. Limited choices but if you leave hungry it’s your own fault. Plenty of food and people serving or cleaning up. Food rating 3 food employees 5. Location 4. Beach 2. Our 3 day stay was tolerable and enjoyable. Our expections were lower due to reviews and expect much. Our experience was much better however mostly due to staff friendliness.

When going to the beach be ready for a constant flow of locals trying to sell things to you the entire time, including massages and getting your hair braided. The umbrella and chairs have the name of the resort of them but you pay the men hanging around to use. The room smelled all the time, the mini blinds should be trashed and there were no wash clothes provided. The entire place needs to be renovated and upgraded. Food was not available 24 hours each day at the resort. The bright spot is the staff were very sweet.
