Good service

We stayed here as a group of 4 ladies .the manager was was fun and accommodating with us all .we stayed in a family room which was spacious and comfortable..we ate at the restaurant which was the nicest food ..not your typical pub microwave grub .would highly recommend to eat here .the hotel is spotless..breakfast in the morning is plentiful and cooked as ordered .

This is a well appointed friendly hotel. I needed a taxi for a wheelchair user and could not find one when I called. Molly arranged a taxi to take me there and back. The food at the restaurant was delicious . The room was spacious and fully accessible for a wheelchair with a wet room. Great base for visiting the areas around.

Stayed here recently for 1 night. Super friendly welcome from staff upon entering the hotel. The room was clean and spacious and I really liked the rainfall shower. We ate in the restaurant and despite being very busy they managed to accommodate us. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Food was splendid and I wholeheartedly recommend the beef suet pudding! I would make the 2 hour drive just to eat that again. Breakfast was very tasty and used quality ingredients. I would stay again next time I'm this way.

A friendly and welcoming hotel, they looked after me very well, and the food is lovely. I felt very well looked after as a solo female traveller, and the room was very comfortable and secure. I recommend it for solo travellers.

Wow! We read the reviews prior to booking and were not disappointed. The staff are exceptional and the bar food/restaurant was mind blowing (glad we got to use it 2 nights). The kids loved it too. We had king-size with 2 single beds for our family and the room was a great size. It's the little touches for the price!...box of tissues, mugs (not tiny cups) biscuits/hot chocolate, a mini bar with 4 water bottles an extra thoughtful touch. Great hair dryer too. Little niggles were shower had to be held as the fixing was incompatible and the left window isn't fitted properly so you could really hear the wind. I really feel these will be resolved as soon as. Plenty of towels and hand/body wash too. So glad we found this place and will definitely be back. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for making our stay great x there is parking across the road £12 for 3 nights. Bargain!

Good Sunday lunch with good service. I would return to this restaurant. Roast beef and Yorkshires with a good vegetable selection Apple crumble and custard was excellent as was the Malbec wine. …………………………………. …………………………………………………………….

Very clean and comfortable.Delicious food and friendly service.Great place to stay for getting around as just beside the station,good bus service and accessible to many places by car.Decor is lovely and in keeping with the 'Brief Encounter'era.(filmed at the station)

Arriving unexpectedly and with no booking, we were given a welcome that could not be faulted, extremely friendly and welcoming. The room we were given was spot on with beautifully clean, fresh bedding and linen and with a good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits next to the kettle. Although we didn’t have a booking for the restaurant, the manager fitted us in on a busy Friday evening and we had a very pleasant meal. The decor of the restaurant, like the rest of the hotel, was impressive in an art deco style with fabulous lights and window and there was a bubbly vibe to the whole restaurant. Although from the outside this hotel may not look particularly impressive, the welcome and quality of the interior and rooms belies that initial impression. All in all, thoroughly recommended.
