Unfortunately not the best experience of the Hilton Cambridge, the first room we where given had clearly not been made or cleaned with a bed slept in, dirty coffee cups and an unclean bathroom.
Staff where quick to address the issue and give us a new room however upon entering the 2nd it was set up for I’m assuming the original proposed occupiers birthday, not the worst thing in the world however another thing for to address within the first 30 minutes of being at the hotel.
In the evening we returned relatively late around 1am to then be asked if we where lost and if we had a room at the hotel, to which i presented a room key which apparently wasn’t satisfactory enough to show that we where indeed guests, I’m not sure why I then had to give my exact room number and name to provide comprehensive proof of our booking.
Surely if this is an issue in the past of non guests trying to use hotel facilities then all guests should be providing their details upon returning???
This combined with the issues upon arrival was frustrating, and frankly insulting, why this was humorous to the night staff I’m not sure but all in all a massive disappointment.
