Caer Menai

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Caer Menai. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Neil and Anthony were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. It's in a great location near the town centre and the castle. There is a variety of pubs and restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay there again.

I couldn't speak highly enough of this accommodation. Caer Menai is the most delightful guesthouse with tasteful décor, comfortable rooms, a good breakfast, spotlessly clean, helpful and polite host and inside the walls of the old town. On the ground floor there is a shared lounge area and breakfast room. A hot breakfast is included. Bedrooms are on the second and third floor. We had a room on the third floor. Lots of stairs but well worth it and we felt we had the best room and a lovely view over the wall to the river. The only way to approach the guesthouse by car is via the gate on the corner of Cei Bank and Church Streets. Caer Menai is only a short distance on your right. Look for the yellow building. There is free street parking near Caer Menai, however we never saw any spots become available. There are also some free bays just beyond the Sailing Club, near where you enter the gates, otherwise the host will provide you with a free voucher for parking just five minutes walk away. Park at the far end from the entrance if using this option as there is a path that leads you back to Cei Bank street. There are plenty of dining options in the area however some require a booking as they get busy and some are closed on Mondays. Caernarfon Castle is a short walk away. We preferred walking around the outside of the wall as there is a lovely view over the river. In the town (Castle) square you will find a convenience store, pharmacy, cafes, post office and ATM. We spent two nights but could have spent longer as the location proved central to other areas of interest.
