Best Western Plus Buxton Lee Wood Hotel

What a wonderful hotel. Situated in a quieter part of Buxton, but within walking distance of the Pavillion, Theatre and shopping area. The rooms had a cosy feel on entering and were clean. The bathroom was warm, always a bonus in the cooler weather. Plenty of tea and coffee, plug points and lighting. The staff were very efficient and friendly as too was the service. The food was exceptional, served on 'hot' plates nicely presented and very tasty. Buffet style breakfast with orders taken for cooked. Gluten free catered for. I will certainly be going again

Another excellent stay at this hotel. A great nights sleep in a comfortable room. Dining in the restaurant is excellent. Welcoming and friendly staff. A great place to stay, would highly recommend. It’s set in a great location for the Theatre, and local attractions.

Lovely quiet and green location, with an absolutely brilliant, dedicated and friendly team. Super comfortable bed and excellent dinner and breakfast. A very nice hotel in the greenest, most peaceful part of Buxton and only five minutes walk from the town centre.

The staff at this hotel are excellent. I had an issue with mould in the bathroom in room 30. This was dealt with effectively, we changed rooms to a much better room and received a reduction in our bill. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked to order.

Excellent service all round, but especially from the catering and reception staff who went above and beyond what one would normally expect. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were especially tasty and croissants were warmed if you wished.

Lovely big room that looked recently refurbished. Bed was comfortable and the Room was quiet. There was some floor board noise but you have to expect that in an old building. Bathroom was huge and excellent. All the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very nice and reasonably priced Just one point. They should clean up a little bit of black mould around the base of the shower before it gets out of hand.

Amazing staff, especially Marcy on reception who was very attentive.Very good breakfast with a good choice of eggs - the poached was done to perfection.Stayed in room 45 lovely and large with great shower and bath.Clean and comfortable bed.

The staff were friendly, attentive and professional, the room comfortable and the food excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed especially, the smoked salmon parcels and Lamb Henry. The staff made extra special efforts to cater for my gluten intolerance.

Told them that it was our anniversary before we arrived and they kindly upgraded us to a bigger room, left a card and some chocolate there as well; which was a nice gesture. The room was well furnished, clean and welcoming upon arrival. The staff were really friendly and helpful, directing us to the town when we asked. The only downsides were, the lack of a bath (the shower was great, but my wife likes a bath) and the fact that the TV seemed to be stuck on audio description and we couldn't turn it off. This meant that the TV announced everything to us: TV station and information, volume levels etc. Not sure if that's an accessibility setting in all rooms, or whether we were unlucky. Breakfast was really nice, a selection of juices, cereals granola, toast, preserves and croissants. Waiting staff will bring hot drinks as ordered, and cooked food such as porridge, bacon, eggs or a full fry up. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here, it's only about 10 mins from Buxton town centre, though it is uphill.
