Travelodge Great Yarmouth Acle

Travelodge have everything covered in this basic but well-staffed, well situated hotel. All needs not offered by the hotel are readily available in the village. The staff are cheerful, friendly, helpful. The surrounding area is very rewarding of exploration. The tariff, especially off peak, is affordable and easily booked.

Last minute stay due to travel for family illness. The receptionist When we first got checked in and got to the room, the door was wedged open with damp towels and a robot vacuum cleaner was still in there but stationary. We decided to head out and come back later. When we got back the towels and vac were gone but the towels hadn’t been restocked. We had one bath and one hand towel. We had to ask at reception for the second towel. Not a big deal, but a sign that staff either don’t have the time or inclination to complete rooms properly. The room appeared clean but smelt bad, like damp dogs. Next morning my husband got in the shower to find the shower gel in the cubicle was empty, luckily I had a small emergency bottle and was able to rescue him. There was a kettle in the room but no tea, coffee or mugs. I thought maybe this was the normal standard for Travelodge these days but on staying in a different one the next night which was fully stocked I realised this was not the case. For a budget hotel we don’t expect the Ritz, but it did seem to fall short of even Travelodge’s usual standards.

Very clean family room ample space for my two daughters and myself. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk and sugar in the room. Also there was no rush to be out of the room too early in the morning. I would highly recommend and I am sure we will be back again, this was our second stopover here,

So many reviewers happy to pay budget prices and expect the Ritz. Our three nights cost £140 including the two dogs, the room was clean, tidy and well stocked. Check-in was easy, they had put us on the first floor and changed us when they remembered the dogs. Hotel was quiet at night, and has a useful m&s shop outside, along with a Starbucks. There is a chippie down the road and pubs/takeaways within 10 minutes walk. I found a couple of bulbs out in the room, told reception and they were replaced the next day. It's our third visit and is a useful base being just 25 mins from Great Yarmouth seafront and walkable to the Broads, so will be back.

Clean, comfortable close to the Norfolk Broads. We come every year. Staff are helpful and friendly and there is a Starbucks nextdoor
