Sertorelli Sporthotel

The hotel was just perfect and the staff exceptional. The housekeeping team were very accommodating and the food, amazing. Big shout on in particular to Maurizio, our ski instructor (also the owner’s brother!) as I arrived a non-skier, with a lot of fear and left on Christmas Eve, capable of navigating the nursery slopes with relative ease. We will certainly be back. Thank you to everyone at this super-special, family run hotel. :)

Sertorelli offers a wide range of facilities, including a recently modernised spa zone with various types of sauna, baths etc to ease tired muscles. What really made our stay special was the team’s service - especially Luca on reception and Christian and Julian in the (fantastic) restaurant. Dietary restrictions were not just accommodated - but made to delight, with special meals prepared to my son’s request. Shuttle bus takes you the few mins to and from the gondola. All in all, a very relaxing stay.

We can't recommend the Sertorelli highly enough. We honestly had the best week and felt part of the family by day two! The food was brilliant, plenty of choice everyday. We loved that there was a buffet starter and dessert, but the other two main courses you could choose from a daily changing menu. The restaurant staff were second to none. Gian Franco was so accommodating and really took the time to understand my dietary needs (pescatarian). When we arrived at dinner, he had fish available that wasn't on the menu, which was a really lovely touch. Irina was so lovely and made us feel so welcome. She really went the extra mile to make our meals really special, even considering we didn't speak the same language. And Luca, well what a star he was. He was so friendly and helpful. We had one day where we were unable to ski and he took so much time to recommend other activities for us and offered to make reservations. He also recommended a lovely little restaurant for us in town with gorgeous pumpkin gnocchi. We are frequent international travellers, and fussy ones at that. However, I would go as far to say this is the best and most personable service I have ever received at any hotel. I would highly recommend visiting the hotel. Very similar to a previous reviewer, I have mixed feelings about this hotel. To start on the positives... rooms are well appointed, bar is lovely (as are the cocktails and the bar staff), the ski room works well, shuttle bus to the slopes is excellent and the spa is a great way to end the day. The main issue is the food. It's trying and failing to be fancy fine dining when fine dining is not necessary. Post skiing dining needs simple pasta, pizza and "hearty" type grub. Also, I found the waiting staff in the restaurant to be a little snooty, aloof and unfriendly... perhaps aligning to the fancy dining attempt. The food may well suit others and it's just my family, but hey, that's the point of writing an opinion via a review platform like this. Last point that clinches my decision to never return was a substantial addition of extras on my bill that I discovered when checking out. I accept that mistakes can be made, but when the management acknowledged the hotel's logging of wine purchases not correct, their behaviour was the same snooty style I mentioned above. They could have easily resolved what was a very embarrassing position for them by just removing the erroneous items from the bill, but instead they made me stand there for an hour while they tried (and failed) to concoct a plausible explanation. It's their treatment of the situation that leads me to mention it here. They are lucky I'm giving 3 stars to be honest, but as I said, there are a lot of good things about the place.

Great hotel. Lovely food and beautiful spa. Great location. Staff could not be more helpful. Superior rooms were a good size - the hotel is refurnishing rooms and the shower will benefit from an upgrade. Ski lockers and shuttle to slopes worked well. Lovely relaxed lounge.

Another excellent visit to beautiful Cervinia staying at this wonderful hotel. Must be our 6th or 7th time. Very comfortable, clean, lovely food and extremely helpful and kind staff. Well located for the slopes. We will definitely be back.
