Sonder the Magnolia

Beautiful apartment located in the best area. It was my first time visiting so the location was perfect. Very clean, modern and stocked up. Would definitely recommend. The only downside was the noise, we had a lift in our room (you couldn’t use) but it was shared with shake shack downstairs and was very noisy from them up to 11pm. As you would expect in the city the street was also very noisy all night / early morning so ear plugs are a must!!

Incredible location. Beautiful place. The main bed itself was so comfy. Great little kitchen. 1 issue: if you plan on using the pull out sofa, be sure to bring a thick mattress pad or something similar bc you can feel every single coil in the mattress.

The location here is amazing and the room had everything that we needed. It was just as described. Being able to have kitchen amenities not typically available in a hotel was great. The space was very nice and the beds were comfortable. The view is mostly an alley view, but we were not there much during the day. We were on the third floor and it was a bit of a walk up the stairs. Someone that has trouble walking or climbing stairs might not make it. It has easy access to the rail system about three blocks away and many things in walking distance. The area seems very safe for a large city. I thought it was great and I definitely hope to stay there again.

Great location on Newbury Street in a buzzing part of Boston. The apartment was good with everything you could need for a short stay. Easy walking distance to many attractions. The only downside is it can be a noisy street if you're looking for an early night.

I was weary of the oddly low reviews for this place, especially given how pricey it is (as is everywhere in Boston, especially during the fall season). I needn't have worried. The location is right in the middle of the action on bustling Newbury Street, so perfectly placed. We strolled into the centre several times via the tree-lined avenue that runs all the way up the adjacent street. Note that if you are after somewhere quiet, this isn't for you - it is a busy street, especially in the evenings/weekends. Yes there is noise, but this is to be expected. Take some earplugs, no problem (this was a sign in a room saying earplugs were provided, although they weren't, so glad I came prepared). The appeasement was great. We had a king on floor 3. The main kitchen/loving space was excellent. I've dropped one star as although she bathroom is totally adequate (including a nice shower), it has all become a little scuffed and battered at the edges, so is certainty not 'luxury'. The check in process was also completely smooth. If travelling from abroad you will need to make sure you have a working mobile phone to get the email/text with the check-in details (which are just codes for the door entry system - there is no reception and no one on site to help you). I asked a few questions about the self-storage lockers via the Sonder app, and had fast and helpful responses. I should address the things about stairs, which seems to be the basis of most of the bad reviews. I agree the fact there is no lift (unless you are in the 'accessible' apartment, which has a dedicated lift) could be made clearer in the advertisement/booking websites. BUT unless you are elderly or have health issues, this seriously should not be any problem whatsoever! We had 4 large bags, which we managed to get up the stairs without issue, and once you are in, going up one for two flights of stairs when you dip in and out really isn't a problem! It's an apartment block, so stairs should not be a surprise!! Overall, this was perfect as a base for a couple of days to explore the city.

We sent an inquiry to Sonder customer service asking mobility accessible accommodation because my husband is disabled. It took weeks before Sonder got back to us for some arrangement. When we arrived in Boston after a 24 hours flight, we found the property is not accessible - there is no elevator to the room, the only way to get to the room is more than 25 steps of stairs which is impossible for my husband to access. Rang Sonder number, being hold for more than 1 hour then we were told there were no other accommodations available. It was 7pm we were left on the street in a strange city with no where to go.
