Where the room is located will make all the difference in the world. Ours overlooked the freeway but it was a "suite" room which is what we requested, paid for, and got. The room was fine but ... One needs to sleep. That's just not happening when every semi-truck on planet Earth is constantly whizzing by, inches from your ears. Nothing is perfect but this was absolutely horrible. On the up-side, the breakfast was really surprisingly good! For a free-bee, we had no complaints, only nice things to say. The waffles actually were surrounded by all the toppings one could imagine (just not fresh fruit), but this still worked for us! (We had packed along fresh fruit in our room). The room was spacious, and it actually had enough furniture pieces for us to use while we dined in our room. The large pseudo-kitchen area offered a small frig and a large counter top allowing us to put together our dinner. Nice surprise. This has been our second stay in Blythe. Coming to California, we stayed in the Holiday Inn Express and this was our stay in Blythe upon leaving California. In the future, we will bypass Blythe and continue to stop in Yuma. Bythe is a work in progress. This particular hotel is a drop-off point for cats and dogs. We were so touched by the pitiful creatures waiting for a free hand-out. Really a sorry experience.
