Radisson Blu Mall of America

Very quiet room. Comfortable service. Expected a bit more “luxury”. Bathroom fixtures were lower quality than expected. Good for our one night stay.

My trip started off awful. The hotel advertises that they offers a complimentary shuttle service from the airport to your hotel front door. I was given instructions that I was to text a specific number once I secured my bags. I did as instructed and was given instructions where to meet the shuttle. Only after having texted the line twice, calling the actual hotel twice and waiting forty plus minutes, did a shuttle ever show up to take us 5 mins down the street. There was never an apology, no taking of responsibility or anything done to right the wrong. Secondly we get there only to find out that the pool level is completely closed.... Which was a huge part of the planned enjoyment of vacation. I was then given two keys to a specialized elevator, to only get upstairs with my luggage until the elevator to find out that the keys don't even work. So on top of the forty minutes that they've already exhausted by the late shuttle, I have to run back downstairs to get the keys reprogrammed. Still, no one taking accountability, and no apologies. Then, I had to go back down to get the keys programmed for the executive suite level food upgrade. My opinion...Do not pay the sixty dollars for the breakfast and appetizer upgrade. The food is minimal, lacking much of any variety and definitely no flavor. It was much better to take the walk across the skyway to your local Ihop, where you got good food with excellent service. Thirdly, to top everything off... At seven am in the morning, of the first full day of my family staying there, we were awakened by construction noise on the floor beneath us. When I called to complain, early in the morning, i was told that someone would look into it, so after three hours nothing being done, i decided to take me and my family out for they day, giving them an opportunity to resolve the concern. We went about enjoying other amenities, not related to the hotel to only come back in the early evening , to find that noise was still going and even louder than the morning. Still no one said a word. When I called the front desk to say enough, was enough, and I needed to have my family relocated to a more quiet room, I was told that I was the only person that had called to complain. As if they were trying to shift the responsibility to me. Then, the person on the phone validated the reason that I was receiving, so much noise in my room, was because the construction was taking place near the passage way close to that room, yet they chose to assign me that room, knowing what the circumstances were and were also aware that I had children with me. When the bellboy came up to assist with, the relocating of the room, he validated the amount of noise was unacceptable. After being relocated, the room was much more quiet, but half of my stay was already ruined. When I asked about being properly reimbursed or compensated for inconvenience and unsatisfactory stay, I was told that because I booked through a third party they would do nothing for me. By this time the pattern became obvious, that this establishment and it's workers would not take responsibility for unacceptable conditions well within their control. So to add the cherry on top, I reserved a shuttle ride back to airport in advance to avoid the forty plus minute, delay caused on the pickup. Only to be giving bad instructions by the front desk and was almost left behind... If I wasn't my own advocate to run out of the hotel to flag down a driver, to hold somebody accountable for getting us to the airport, we would have experienced the same thing on the back end. I would not recommend spending the amount money that was spent to stay at the Radisson Blu. I would highly recommend JW Marriott, if it is a quality four and five star hotel experience, you are chasing. The one bright spot on the stay was the Fire Lake Grill food. Expensive, but good!!

At check in time, the staff member was quite rude. Have you ever had your passport thrown back into your hand? Well, if not and you want to experience what that's like you can check in at this hotel. This was my second visit here - the first time was good enough that I wanted to stay here again. After the way I was treated this time - never again. Also, a point about the cleanliness at the hotel - the carpet in my room had clear stains on it. Hence the score of 3/5 for cleanliness. Otherwise location is great - very close to the airport etc. Not really sure about amenities as I am a business traveler and am out and about for work so not really taking advantage of whatever they may or may not have... There are much better places in the area that will take your money and treat you much better. Not going back here for future trips and caution everyone else.

It was really nice and reception was super helpful. The weather was really bad so staying here make it super convient. I did my shopping, dinner, coffee without even going out :)

Pleasant stay and great location considering it’s attached to mall of America

0 things to do other than swim prior to 10 :00 am on a Saturday which is tough with kids. Pool and rooms are not kid friendly. Thin walls (could hear every word of neighbors convo until midnight), no ledges to set anything in shower.
