Stayed here for the first time in years to visit our freshman at IU. We brought our puppies and the room was fine for a few nights. It’s in a good location to campus and there is a trail (I think it’s called the B-line) that is great for walking, jogging, etc. Be careful of the bicycle riders on it though.

Booked last minute stay to explore downtown Bloomington. Location was good as we walked to Kirkwood and the restaurants/shops. They said they had 18 rooms available but I was not able to use award stay credit or Marriott points which was frustrating. Also, I have Marriott Platinum status and there are no breakfast credits or vouchers given which is disappointing. The person as the desk said "no Courtyards give breakfast credit's" and that is certainly not the case. There is not even free coffee. Parking is $10 which is a joke considering the side of the parking lot they have and was not in high demand. The (paid) breakfast is just okay but would not eat there again due to cost and portion sizes. If you need a place to stay in Bloomington this hotel is fine but there are better options.

Hotel was nice enough for a business trip but check in encounter was outrageous. Arrived at 12:54 after flying 2 hours and driving another hour. Went to desk and was told rooms were available BUT there would be a 40$ charge to check in prior to 1pm. 6 mins early and 40$ charge? Asked for the manager who was standing right there. He ignored us and the clerk said he couldn’t make an exception. We went out parked our car and came Back in at 12:59 and we’re ignored until 1:03. Checked in with no upcharge. I challenge Marriott corporate to verify that is a company policy. I’ve stayed at many Marriotts and NEVER encountered an issue with early check in or been told there is an upcharge. Front desk clerks were nice but seemed intimidated by management. Next trip to Bloomington will definitely not staying here again.

I have never stayed at a hotel that was that expensive and hard as hell to just get a decent cup of coffee in the morning. I also had asked for our sheets to be changed and new towels and that didn’t happen. The girl at the front desk, Haley, was very nice though and customer service oriented. Great personality.

Nice, comfortable hotel within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and a rather lengthy biking, hiking, walking trail. Well maintained, parking easily available, and conveniently located for campus visits.

The room is nice, no problem there. First, be aware of a $10 parking fee per night, it didn't bother us, but just to inform people if that bothers you. The next part is for the Courtyard to read themselves unless you care about safety protocol. My main reason for the two stars is the complete lack of protocol during a tornado warning... not watch, warning. The phone beeped loud as it sent multiple messages saying, "Tornado warning, SEEK SHELTER NOW!" We head to the lobby only to see a woman working the front desk unbothered by what is happening. There are many people showing her and others the radar and asking what to do, she basically rubs it off as people come and go outside in hail and heavy storms, on and off the elevators, etc. When asking what to do per protocol we were told in a summary that it hasn't "really touched down" as we know so we don't have to do anything. My biggest problem with this is that upon asking what would be done if it was coming near us, she said going door to door and telling people to come down... well by that point wouldn't it be too late? Not to mention it is 10 pm at night so some guests may be asleep as well as the fact that there are 4 floors. We mentioned it was a bit strange that there is a lack of protocol and she stated, "Well it's Indiana so the weather is always on and off here" and goes back behind her desk minding her own business. No there wasn't a tornado, and no one died so this may seem a bit dramatic, but to have 10-15 people in the lobby with their phones out, walking outside, conversing, and confused as to what to do... as our phones say take cover, she didn't even care to make an announcement. Seems a bit strange in the event that if one does touchdown, who is to say you are safe here? At other hotels, the immediate alert puts everyone immediately in the laundry room in on the first floor squished. I have had that happen twice which is probably why this caught me off guard. My main point in writing this is for you, as a business to inform your employees to at least care enough to turn off elevators or tell people not to use them, keep people inside, and maybe flash the emergency lights as that is what other hotels do, or simply make an announcement to the lobby as everyone walked around confused and she continued on her computer... and just care enough to not look at me, shrug your shoulders, and say "well it's Indiana." There was no immediate danger but if my phone is making noise with an all-caps message saying seek shelter NOW!, I'd feel as if it shouldn't be taken lightly. And if you absolutely do not have any protocol in place then disregard the message above and carry on but you should. An employee on her computer not willing to make an announcement to confused people just doesn't seem right.

I stay here while I’m in base and this is a great time. They are beyond kind and love to answer however you can. The hostess have been beyond generous They drive to the airport once every hour at the top of the hour and you need to be on the list to get on the shuttle(do it when you sign in) both drivers Mr.Aiman and Mr.Garry are absolutely phenomenal. They have a lovely fireplace in the back so if you want to unwind with a glass of wine or with a book it’s perfect for that. The rooms are clean and are taken care of. It was a great time

Associates make all the difference on a fantastic experience while at the Courtyard in Bloomington, Indiana. I was greeted by Juan at the front desk. Juan was knowledgeable and personable, although most importantly Juan understands the value of taking care of guests. Thank you Juan for all your gestures to make my stay first class. We also spent time in the restaurant area in the evening. Dee was extremely helpful, always saying yes to our requests, and with a smile. Thank you Dee. I also met Sarah in the morning for breakfast. Sarah made sure my breakfast was fresh and delicious. Thank you Sarah for your attention to detail and getting my day off to a great start. The Courtyard is located in the heart of downtown and very close to Indiana University's campus. I enjoyed a morning run downtown and throughout IU. Also a nice benefit of the Courtyard is a very large free parking area! Great stay and experience. Thank you.
