Sonesta ES Suites Allentown Bethlehem Airport

This hotel was one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed at and I have traveled a lot for business and pleasure. the carpet in the elevator and hallway was filthy. The windows on the entry had not been washed. The elector was grimy. My refrigerator was severely dented, the living room light plastic housing was broken. The stovetop was dirty, the glasses looked like they hadn’t ever been washed. Given 1 washcloth. The TV in the one bedroom didn’t work. We had to have maintenance fix it. The outside landscaping had not been weeded, the bushes not trimmed. When I went to heck out I found that Dominque had not cancelled my last night stay as requested upon check-in on Fri. Fortunately, Debbie who was on-duty Mon. took care of it. She was Very helpful and pleasant. I’m now at the Fairfield Inn Philly airport and it is an immaculate hotel.

Not the best…not the worst pretty much describes it… Pros… Rooms decent size Kitchen decent Quiet (if on side opposite highway) Breakfast not outstanding but definitely above average Cons… Beds barely ok - and only queens Pillows and comforter a joke Carpets throughout are filthy with many large stains-why they just don’t replace is beyond me 5$ a day parking charge is unconscionable-place is in middle of nowhere with lots of other motels not charging parking You need to walk outside to get to main building with breakfast and facilities Place throughout has smell of spray trying to cover smoking odor Overall if booking ahead you could do much better somewhere else. If last minute and everywhere else full or priced excessively it’s passable for a day or two if offered at a reasonable (＜150 ish) price

Not the best, not the worst (looking at you Red Roof Inn in Columbia , MO) I’ve stayed in. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful but the process was SLOW. We did get an upgrade so perhaps this was the reason. Also we were checking in after 9pm so there was only one person on staff. The smell walking into the building our rooms were in was not great, sort of a mix of unwashed bodies without deodorant and “skunk” (IYKYK). But, thankfully, the room smell was fine. Room temperature was comfortable upon entering, and the room appeared clean and well kept, although very worn. Carpet could use a shampoo. Kitchen area was updated and well stocked. The sleeper couch and chair were extremely worn and uncomfortable— the foam in the cushions was completely flat. There was no bedding provided for the sofa bed. Both of these also could have used a deep upholstery cleaning. But there were TV’s in both bedrooms and in the sitting area with limited streaming apps. This was a plus. Also Wi-Fi was good- we brought a Roku streaming stick and had no problems using it. The “amenities” such as body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the bathrooms were nearly empty, and what was left did not look fresh and was discolored. No way were we touching it. There was only one bar of soap for washing hands between both the bathroom sinks. We made due by breaking it in half. Beds were moderately comfortable and the sheets/comforters were clean and seemed fresh. Pillows were not great, very flat. Also the safety lock on our door would not engage completely, however the swing latch was functional so I just put a chair under the door for extra safety. The smoke and CO2 detectors looked new and were working. Windows are able to be opened to let in fresh air. Halls were quiet. We did not utilize the outdoor spaces as it rained the entirety of our stay.

Basically changed the sign from a Marriott Residence Inn to Sonesta and haven’t done a thing. Grounds have garbage bags sitting in the hallway by the elevator for long periods of time, walls paper thin, multiple stains on carpet in room, wood on cabinets worn down, hairs on the couch, breakfast barely qualifying as a breakfast and pretty empty snacks bar in the lobby. Go somewhere else, save your money and question the positive reviewers here! These are purely facts not opinion.

Was unspecial, felt it was over priced, charged $5 a night for parking can't see why its in the middle of nowhere on a freeway intersection, although if the family living in the caravan in the parking lot are paying $5 they got a bargain. Didn't sample breakfast. Entranceway litttered with cigarette ends and grass verges covered in dog faeces. Had a two bed suite which was OK a little dark and dated.

We are not difficult people and have stayed all over the world. Our only expectation is for rooms to be clean and safe. Stayed in a 2 bedroom with a pullout couch in the living room with my 2 adults sons. Upon entering the room, I checked the pull out couch since I would be sleeping there and there were many crumbs and a teeth flosser on top of a horrendous, horribly ripped mattress. A very kind maintenance worker got me a newer mattress. I had to request sheets and a blanket and was told to talk to housekeeping currently on my floor. Back and forth with the front desk and was told there were no blankets. Finally 3 hours later I had a threadbare blanket waiting at the front desk. I wasn't handed the blanket with an apology - the staff member wouldn't get off the phone and rudely gestured to a trash bag on the counter. The front desk staff member with the strong accent was extremely unprofessional and rude throughout our stay. There were other issues during our stay including piles of trash bags outside the elevator, people smoking at the outside door (and wouldn't move until we asked them to so we could exit) and one afternoon there was a man passed out at the outside door. We will never return to a Sonesta. I am shocked by the high ratings of this property since we were not the only ones having issues. Another room had no mattress protectors and sheets were barely on the bed, another room had an issue with people who appeared to live at this hotel, and another room had issues with cleanliness.

staying at the Sonesta ES Suites Me and my family had a bad experience the back door open were people are entering with out using they key card also at breakfast time the truck drivers would just rush in the get coffee and push you over with out saying excuse me I had a bad stay and its a great hotel but some front desk staff like Ms deborah needs more training in communicating with people so that way people can continue they stay at Sonesta ES suites I wanna give Kristina big Kudos on doing a great job with cleaning and her attitude was great thanks kristina for doing a great job ...

Location is very good, Room is decent size for what we needed. North entrance to our building was not secure, door opened without a key card. TV streaming was very poor, very choppy cable/internet connection, very sub-standard for this area of the Lehigh Valley. If we return to this area, we'd consider staying here again, but possibly a different building unit. Staff was nice and helpful.

I checked in early this evening ( 7/10) finding a seemingly seasoned front desk staff. However, the lady wouldn’t listen to me when I was explaining that we now use a virtual card payment since I am a state/government employee. I didn’t want to argue so I let her charge my personal card first and decided to speak to another manager in the morning. That staff was the only employee on the premises. She asked me if I have a pet because there’s an extra charge for bringing them. I don’t. She handed me a plastic bag of linens since she said that they don’t clean during a stay. I went to the room and the elevator was filthy. I opened my room and it seemed like the person who fixed the room was in a rush. The pillows were on the side table. Beddings are not on par with any standards. I asked to be moved but the lady said that they’re sold out. After dinner, I came back to my room to get my things ready- there’s no iron/board. I called the front desk. I volunteered to pick it up myself- she said that house keeping is not it until 8am and she does not know where the irons/boards are. I needed to be at work by 8:30am so I’ll be showing up with wrinkled clothes. This really pushed me to write this review. I cannot believe that this is being run like this. Bathroom tub is dirty and soaps are not filled… I am definitely checking out tomorrow. This is not a good place to stay. Oh, another thing. They charge parking fees while the parking lot is open to everyone- no gates or any security.
