Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunbury-Columbus Area

Booked this room for my mother to stay at for my wedding. They said there were large stains all over the room, not so happy with paying over 200 a night for a dirty room.

I stay there for 20 days. they only clean my room one time and the other time I asks they refuse to but send me new towels and bed sheets covers to do myself. I highly don’t recommend to stay there for business a long time.

We arrived at the hotel at 9:45pm dog-tired after driving 650 miles in 12 hours on our way to Indianapolis. We had driven through numerous rainstorms and construction site lane closures. We just wanted a clean room and a good night's sleep. Unfortunately we chose the wrong hotel. The carpet was stained. The hallway and room were generally decrepit and rundown. The sink was stopped up so that it drained very slowly. Because we were so tired we did not ask to change rooms but just went to sleep. At approximately 1:00 a.m. the deafening shrieking of a fire alarm woke us out of a sound sleep. At 1:45 a.m., shortly after falling back to sleep, it went off again. I got dressed and went to the front desk to find out what was going on. There were two firemen present and the desk clerk explained that the alarm system was malfunctioning. We finally went back to sleep. The fire alarm woke us again at 7:00 a.m. I had paid for the hotel with 20,000 reward points. I spoke to the manager about a refund. She stated that because it was a safety matter (although she couldn't explain how a malfunctioning system was a safety matter) she would provide a credit of 5,000 points. I told her that was not satisfactory and she told me that I could have left at 1:00 a.m. and she would have provided a full refund. I questioned where I was to go if I left at 1:00 a.m., dog-tired and half asleep and she just repeated that I could have left. This was the worst experience I ever had at an IHG hotel. I will never go back.

It was just ok. Kind of expensive for what it was. The refrigerator in our room did not work, but I was too tired to ask for a different room. The paint was peeling off above the ac. The AC was pretty loud and woke me up a couple times. The mattress was comfortable and the breakfast was really good. The room wasn't disgusting or anything but definitely could use a deep clean. The pool was nice but I wished the water was a little warmer.

Beware as of November 2022 they are in the middle of room renovations. You may notice the smell of fresh paint throughout the building including in some of the rooms. Our room was very clean and comfortable for a good night of sleep. The bathroom was clean and the room had all of the amenities we needed. There are a plethora of places to eat nearby. The breakfast at the hotel was decent as well. The customer service was also very delightful. Definitely a place I would check out again if in the area.

We have stayed here several times before. Since our last stay several years ago it has gone downhill. Rugs in hallways looked unswept. Wallpaper near elevator was peeling. No internet in room. When front desk was questioned… they were not helpful. Renovating dining area. There was no bread or toaster. Breakfast sandwiches were provided, which was nice. Unfortunately they had to be heated in the microwave in your room. Small problem for most. More of a problem when you are trying to juggle a cane. , breakfast sandwich and coffee.

My room was OK. The faucet in the tub had issues but functioned. They were renovating so there was dust. Found out upon arrival that the elevator was out. I was on the 3rd floor. I have bad knees so the climb was not fun. Going to my room and found out the ice machine wasn't working either. Was there 2 nights, elevator broken both days. My comings and goings were restricted because I can't just run up and down two flights of stairs repeatedly. The inconvenience was annoying. No apology for that inconvenience.

We stay here once a year. Its clean. The breakfast is great. Bring are plugs because the walls are thin as A curtain. I heard the woman in the next room using the bathroom The breakfast is good.parking a trailer is a challenge
