"Wenn ich 0 Sternen geben könnte, würde ich. 1St von allem, was wir für 3 Tage geprüft haben. Dach war schmutzig. Als ich ein Handtuch auf dem Boden nach einer Dusche gelegt habe, bemerkte ich, dass das Handtuch aus dem Boden gefüllt war. Als ich ins Checkte, lief meine Kreditkarte und sagte, es funktionierte nicht, so lief es wieder. dann bemerkte ich, dass ich hatte 2 Gebühren auf der Karte. 2. Morgens war das so genannte kostenlose Frühstück ein Witz. Alte trockene Kuchen, NO frisches Obst. Drittens bemerkten wir, dass es zahlreiche ******* kamen und aus den Zimmern gingen. Wir sprachen auch mit vielen anderen Gästen, von denen einige auf regelmäßiger Basis für Geschäftszwecke bleiben, und sie sagten sogar, dass sie immer da sind. Die Polizei kam durch den Parkplatz und meine Frau sprach zu ihm und er wusste sogar von ihnen. wollte nach der ersten Nacht aussehen, aber Front Desk sagte nur Essen kann irgendeine Erstattung geben und wäre morgens. als ich am nächsten Morgen und am Nachmittag zu Front Desk ging. Es gab kein Manager, so dass wir eine 2. Nacht zu bleiben. schließlich war der 3. Nacht Manager endlich in und würde uns nur teilweise Erstattung geben, obwohl ich Buchung direkt über Hotels der Wahl, nicht eine 3. Party-Site wie Preislinie. Ich nahm es und habe die Hölle raus. Ich würde nicht wieder hier bleiben, wenn es nur eine wäre. eher schlafen in meinem Auto."

"I had the worst experience of my life. I requested a non smoking room and after paying up front for 10 nights I went to the room and it smelled like smoke. Hotel staff was not able to provide a non smoking room. I talk to the owner over the phone and she told me that she was not going to refund my money, she said it wasn’t her fault that the room smelled like smoke. The only option I had was to leave with no money back. After driving from Michigan to South Carolina this was the last thing I wanted to do. I had to scramble last minute to find a place to stay. This behavior is unacceptable from a business owner. I’m sure I’m not the only person who has encountered issues here. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL, 0 stars."

"We were pleasantly surprised with our experience at the St. Stephen, SC Econo Lodge. Two of our group of three ladies have years of experience traveling to small towns and are accustomed to disappointing motel stays. But this place was not a disappointment! The owner and his wife greeted us warmly and treated us with respect. During our 3-day stay, we asked for assistance with several needs related to the reason for our visit, and regardless of the number of times we interrupted them, they and their employee were kind, helpful, and personable. The facility was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Although prior reviews on this site mentioned breakfast, that was no longer the case (which we knew ahead of time), but fresh coffee was available 6-9am and there is a microwave in each room, and a grocery store nearby. If you require a high-end pillow, you may want to bring your own. It looks like we’ll need at least one more visit to St. Stephen SC. We look forward to staying at the Econo Lodge again! "
