Makeney Hall Hotel

"Das Hotel liegt in einer sehr malerischen Lage im Derbyshire Peak District. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und komfortabel, aber grundlegend. Der einzige negative Punkt, den ich erwähnen möchte, war, dass es kein warmes Wasser für die Dauer meines Aufenthalts gab, aber ich würde das nicht gegen das Hotel halten, da es eine unvorhergesehene Frage war. Ich würde diesen Ort für einen kurzen Aufenthalt entspannende Pause empfehlen. Die örtliche Gegend hat einige sehr freundliche pubs und Restaurants, zusammen mit einigen schönen Spaziergängen."

The Bear Inn

"We stayed at The Bear Inn’s cottage over Christmas (eve day & home Boxing Day , and it was a lovely festive getaway having a couple of small points that could enhance future stays. The cottage itself was lovely, and the kitchen was equipped for preparing meals (self catering) but we took our own picky foods. The inn’s staff were friendly and proactive, checking in & showing us around. It was cold so plus side , we did notice the cottage’s central heating didn’t take long to warm up fully on the coldest morning/evenings and the Wi-Fi signal/log in wouldn’t work on our phones, but wasn’t an issue Overall, the cottage provided a peaceful, festive room that was ideal for a Christmas break in the countryside. We visited the inn it was beautifully old type pub with beautiful Xmas touches which was great. Our room was ok for our two night stay A minor note on cleanliness: there was some dust/webs in corners & dusty around shelving area, painting in the bathroom ceiling patchy & silicon on the tiles. As I say minor touches These were small things that didn’t detract from our enjoyment, but we thought it worth mentioning as they’re easy fixes that would enhance the already lovely setting. Would rate 3.5/5"
