Springburn Lodge

This is a very tired guesthouse which did not live up to the comments made by other guests. Maybe my expectations were too high given other guest comments. Very disappointing overall. On the first morning my Husband was trapped inside the shower which came off it’s rails, Breakfast was very poor, the hot water urn tasted of coffee, the toast and jam was fine. I felt that the bed was saggy and uncomfortable which left me with a bad backache, the bath towels were really tiny. Bathroom was very dark, we had to ask for broken light globes to be replaced. We stayed for 5 nights as per our booking, but the towels and linen were not changed. Toilet rolls were not replaced so we were down to less than half a roll on the last morning. The Exterior needed a really good cleanup and maintenance. The Caretaker/Manager did not greet us on arrival despite him being at his car vacuuming it when we pulled up next to him. Not a good start. The lounge in the guest TV room was very badly stained and generally grubby although the floors and surfaces were otherwise clean. Overall, very disappointing and Definately not worth the price.
