El Guindas Truly a Little Piece of Tranquil Paradise

We stayed 2 nights at El Guindas and, although the weather was a balmy 27 degrees, the cave stays perfectly cool and comfortable. The caves have a quirky beauty with everything handmade to fit the natural contours. We were visiting friends nearby but it is a great location if you are visiting the Geopark or walking/cycling/driving in the sierras. We were about an hour and a half drive from Granada and coupled it with a visit to the Alhambra and a flamenco show. Owners Jane and Amar speak French, English and Spanish between them and, although we ate at the neighbouring Al Jatib for dinner both nights, are in the throws of opening their own restaurant on site.

Posto incantevole, fuori dal comune, dentro ad una cueva, pace e tranquillità. Ottima posizione per visitare il deserto del Gorafe. Abbiamo chiesto alla proprietaria Jane, che ci ha organizzato il tour in 4x4 con Pepe, simpatico e ottima guida. Lo consiglio.

Igual paseas por La Castellana, por un sibarita barrio de Ibiza o por las calles anchas de una gran ciudad y esperas encontrar un arte en la cocina como este… pero donde no lo esperas encontrar y lo recibes como un regalo es aquí. En un lugar a las afueras de Baza. Las cuevas son una pasada… el lugar tiene un encanto mágico, una paz que descongestiona y te sientes sumamente bien acogido. Pero volviendo a la comida, es un artista… no puedo explicarlo, hay que comer ahí. Cocina con carbón cubano, nada de fuego. Cocina con primeros y naturales Alimentos y sobre todo le pone especial interés y atención a lo que hace. Eso nos ha encantado. La carta no es muy extensa pero si intensa. Los postres son pocos pero saben a mucho!
