AP Premier Batam

We were super intrigued at how they are able to recognize their guest and greet them accordingly at the lobby. They noted on our request for a birthday celebration and offered to surprise my friend by delivering a platter of cake. However they even gather their entire team just to come by to sing a song for the surprise celebration. The hotel service was great, breakfast was great! Perhaps only the shower is a little run down and towels were a little old.

Was apprehensive after reading the reviews. But this hotel had many pleasant surprises! Inwas greeted with a massive lobby. Space is what this hotel has. Corridors are wide. Rooms are larger than normal. I needed a quiet room to rest after a long week at work. I was allocated a room at the rear of the hotel, come 9pm the karaoke opposite the street started. Oops! But Yuli, who had a great smile from front desk reception was at hand to assist me select another room which was more pleasant and had a garden view. She called me by name the following day as as well! (Maybe coz I forgot my passport, double oops 😅) Breakfast selection was good. Trays were full to feed the many guests. There was a cooking station to literally a fire wok to whip up hot and spicy local noodles in the morning. Nice 😀demonstration. But the chefs can’t make poached eggs which is my travel comfort food. Tried over two days 😔. I selected this hotel because it is one of the few hotels that had a bathtub at a reasonable price. I like to soak myself to relax and unwind. COMPLIMENTARY shuttle to/fro Harbour Bay Terminal (5min). Only found out on check-out. Ms Yuli was again on duty to assist me. And she gracefully walked me to the car. The hotel driver was also full of smiles and he was conversational and made my journey very enjoyable. What great hospitality. In summary, this old dame of a hotel (changed name 4 times) still has grand old charm and is well-maintained for a pleasant stay. Hit a like if you found this useful ☺️

We arrived in Batam at the Batam Centre Ferry Terminal, took a taxi which cost US$4 and ride time of 20 minutes to reach AP Premier Hotel. Upon reaching the hotel lobby, we were greeted by the cleanliness and quietness of the lobby and the welcoming free flow of lemon tea. Location review: It is not located near any big shopping malls and it is not safe for families to walk out of the hotel and to walk alone the roads to the opposite which has a convenience store and some eateries. It is highly advisable to use Grab to order food. Room review: Our room was on the 5th floor, which is also the highest floor. The room has a living room which has a dining table, a fridge, a 4 seater sofa, a TV, a toilet with basin and toilet bowl and windows which face the garden. In the bedroom, there are 2 single beds and 1 king bed and a toilet which has a basin, a bathtub, a shower room and a toilet bowl. Good: 1- The TV has both local and cable TV with around 50 channels. 2- The beds were comfortable. 3- Air conditioning was cooling. 4- Toilet amenities and the walls looked newly installed and the floor looks newly tiled. Bad: 1- The dining chairs need to be replaced as the cushion seats are sinking and was uncomfortable to sit on. 2- The air conditioning can get very cold overnight and we can only to adjust the fan speed and not the temperature. 3- The bedroom toilet basin is choke but wasn’t too urgent for us to call a plumber. 4- The wooden furniture and fittings were old and dated. Breakfast review: 1- Regretfully, the breakfast is not up to standard and I will only give it a 1/5 star ratings. I didn’t go for a second serving for most of the food. The only good for the breakfast was the Nasi Goreng which was prepared on the spot. Amenities review: Good 1- There are ample seats at the lobby and there is a piano for guests to use. Bad 1- The indoor swimming pool has 2 pools, a 1.7m one and a 1.2m. The whole place looks dated and poorly maintained. I didn’t allow my boy to use the pool. It really needs an immediate renovation. Overall review: If you just need a place to sleep and do not mind the lack of amenities and poor breakfast, then the quietness of the whole hotel, comfort of the bed and most importantly the pricing of the rooms will be the deciding factors for you to book with them.

The hotel is about 20 mins drive from ferry terminal. Hotel is nice, bed is comfortable. Room size is big for deluxe King. Just the bedsheet and towel not really up to 4 stars standards. Hotel has karaoke, darts and table pool, suitable for families night activities, open from 5pm to 12midnights. Children like the swimming pool although not that grand. Hotel breakfast is super nice, with better coffee, bread, fried rice, fruits, etc. infront of hotel got K mart. Nearby got sushi mantai and France cafe, 5 mins walking distance. Highly recommended for France cafe. Hotel did provide service for layer cake purchase without charge, super nice the layer cake, must buy!

Everything in room was fine, only thing is the cleanliness of the room floor is so so dirty.......Location wise is you need to take taxi or call a Grab car. Plus point is there is a gym to use there and breakfast is good.

Booked 4 rooms in total. The staff reach out in advance to make early arrangements, including complimentary transfer from the port but we did not take it as it’s not our arrival port. Everything is good, aside there’s nothing much nearby and the town area is about 10mins away.

Service staffs from start to end is perfect! Premier room is very spacious, the down side the TV is so tiny u need to wear your glasses to watch while lying in your bed. Balcony is huge! But there isn’t any chair or table at all. End up u dun even wanna enjoy the balcony! Swimming pool was a sad thing! The only entrance to it must be through the restaurant and no proper information on where it is located! No fresh towels provided! Room service was ok but the food we ordered: nasi goreng- chicken wings & satay was dry and hard inedible! Mee goreng- chicken wing was dry and hard! Seems like it’s been heated up in a microwave and not fresh! Tom Yum Soup- more fish cakes than anything else and a small bowl! Buffet breakfast- total sadness! Not much variety and most ingredients/condiments are not fresh! Looks overnight’s! Totally wouldn’t recommend! Hotel was rated 4 stars, I’m giving 2.5 stars just for the service staffs!

Wonderful stay for the weekend getaway😎 very good service from your guest service officer Ms Joices who fetched us from ferry terminal to the hotel. We had a very spacious room for the 4 of us with good beddings. Breakfast was great. Easily booked grab from the hotel to all shopping centres within 10mins. Thank you for the great stay, we really enjoyed.
