Ibis Gloucester Hotel

Busy and loud location , ok hotel . Possibly wouldn’t return . Simple for what it is , but stayed in better . Staff friendly . My room Was warm Whitch was welcome as really cold outside weather .

I walked in whilst in the area, thinking this might be a good place to work for a couple of hours. On walking in through their lobby, I was confronted by two aggressive individuals, completely unidentified by any badges or indication that they worked for Ibis. They squared up to me a few inches from my face in an extremely threatening fashion. They subsequently identified themselves as “security” but gave no explanation as to their behaviour or why they were trying to buffet me out of the building. Once outside they were joined by a very young member of staff, this time wearing a tee shirt and Ibis badge, but they offered no apology as to why I had been treated in this unprofessional and threatening manner, even referring to me as “mate”. What is this place? It seems to have been taken over as some kind of accommodation for migrants, but there is no signage to indicate that the hotel isn’t open to the public. Frankly my experience was extremely disturbing and has left me very shaken. Appalling!

Staff very polite, room very clean, but this hotel is next to Corinium avenue , all the time very noisy, unable to sleep during nights, my room window was toward the avenue. If you want quite place and a good sleep and your sleep easily disturb by noise I don’t recommend this hotel,

I think that some of the reviews are slightly unfair. It is important to consider the context of a visit and what it costs. The room decor is straight forward and unexciting and the bathroom ‘pods’ are no fuss. However, everything is very clean and comfortable. There is good Wi-Fi and a convenient restaurant. All in all, exactly what I was looking for.

A comfortable 3 nights and despite being over the Christmas holiday the staff were great. Be aware that the locals - the drivers that is - can be noisy and clearly insensitive to the sleep needs of others, so can the industral park nearby.

Good hotel, a little out of town, but on a fairly frequent bus route Gloucester to Cheltenham, so convenient for both towns. Good room, buffet breakfast with many different choices. Not much in the immediate area as in most ibis hotels, but there is an m&S convenience store just over the road, and a small bar at the hotel.

After a 'booking malfunction' (my fault), my wife and I were left with nowhere to stay late at night in Gloucester. After trying a few other places I phoned the receptionist who much to our relief reassured us that they still had rooms left. A ten minute taxi ride from the City Centre later and we were there. Check-in was relatively painless in terms of both duration and cost. The room was perfectly fine too - nothing to write home about, but adequate, The only thing that I would question is why the electric sockets were so far away from the bed(s) which made it impossible to read your phone while charging it. Still, 'First World Problems'. Thank you again Gloucester Ibis for getting us out of a hole...

So- Stayed at The Ibis In October to firstly go to Cheltenham races, Then to Watch Gloucester V Falcons Rugby- got a great 2 night deal-check in was easy-staff helpful- room was spotless-warm and cosy- loved the shower-just on the outskirts of the city so 30min walk in or Taxi job-Pre book your taxi as white cabs take your eyes out. Had a breakfast on Sunday as it was the easier option- It was ok, had everything a buffet breakfast would have. 7/10 -felt a bit sorry for the staff as a lot of people came at once and they had to deal with it all, but they sorted out any issues right away. (Table clears-Topping up foodstuff-Milk/Bacon) Being an old Fogie- I left my phone charger in the room- I rang up the next day and Jack ( customer Service ) dealt with it- very helpful and posted it out to me- Big Thanks for that Well done Ibis Gloucester. Big thanks to all the staff.

Hotel bem localizado em South Kensington, muito próximo à estação de metrô de Gloucester que vai ao aeroporto de Heathrow. Próximo ao hotel há um bom mercado da cadeia Waitrose, vários museus de Londres, e o Hyde Park. O hotel é antigo mas dentro da categoria 3*. Equipe da recepção muito atenciosa.
