Bei einer Rundreise durch Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 fuhren wir nach Kalpitiya, um dort eine Delphin- Tour zu machen. Haben uns in der Scoop Cabana ( Strand 2 Min. entfernt) einquartiert. Der erste Eindruck war etwas ungewöhnlich, aber wir haben uns sehr schnell dort heimisch gefühlt. Es gab eine AC und das Zimmer war sehr sauber. Der Besitzer war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit, lustig) und hat sich sehr gut um und gekümmert. Das von ihm zubereitete Essen war einfach köstlich! Wir konnten leider nur eine Nacht bleiben, wären aber gerne länger geblieben! Die Delphin-Tour war ein absolutes Erlebnis. Der Bootsführer sagte, dass es mehr als 1000 Tiere gewesen wären.

What a comfortable stay. I must tell that the amenities in the room were carefully picked. Nothing to complain. Eveything you need for a holiday even in the cheapest room. What a thinking by the owner who i think is a lady. I only stayed one night and i cannot comment much on the food but the breakfast was excellent. This is 100% worth the money you pay. Highly recommended.

The room is spacious and stylish. Furniture and plumbing are fresh. There's 2 beds - double bed and single bed. The view during sunrise is amazing 😍 it's even much better than the view from Little Adam's pick.. From terrace you can see also waterfall and train. Dinner is really tasty, I could definitely say it was the best in SL. The staff is so friendly, I really miss them... I'd like to visit Ella again only because of the hotel 🙈😄 and I would recommend to stay here at least for 2 days with dinnes included)

Good views and food was good. The staff was good too. Standard rooms are not good, steps everywhere inside the room, lighting is poor, bathrooms are not maintained . The rooms are not what are shown on the photo in the advertisement.

The location of the hotel on the top of the mountain and of our room on the top floor with panoramic huge window guarantee spectacular view and balance all the minor disadvantages (lack of antimosquito nets, shampoo, shower gel, modest breakfast).

We stayed there for 1 night, and it was the worst room we were at Sri Lanka. The only good thing was amazing view and breakfast which was also acceptable. The room was really bad, the sheets were dirty and there was a toilet full of ants. We told this at the reception but nobody didn’t even apologized for it. Thank god it was just 1 night.

A simple but well maintained hotel, where you can wake up with a beautiful view from the room balcony on a foggy morning. Budget friendly, clean rooms and there is a good place to chill with a drink on the top. Definitely recommended during your stay in Ella.

AVOID! This hotel is awful, it is so outdated and dirty that we felt so unclean. There were frogs, cockroaches, flies and ants in our bathroom, with no hot water and no working wifi. Whilst we were staying here they allowed other guests to have a party which went on till 3am with extremely loud music, the excuse was its a wedding party and they are drunk. I explained well tell your guests this in check in and they can then decide to proceed with the booking or not. The staff were so rude, the manager especially, when we asked for a discount due to the fact we did not sleep at all due to this party, they said ok. But when we came to pay they refused, and instead kept calling us beggars and said they curse us. Horrible Horrible owner. It is a tourist trap with extreme prices. We ended up booking somewhere else for half the price and double the quality for the rest of our stay with the same impressive views. Please don’t pay into this awful business. There are family run hotels that deserve your money!

This hotel is really worth it for the view. It has a spectacular view that you could look at forever. The rooms themself are quite dated in comparison with the picture, but clean enough. No AC but there is a fan. Ella was cooler than the rest of Sri Lanka and therefore manageable without AC (we did have issues with electricity cutting out and therefore no fan but this was a government and country wide issue and therefore out with the hotels control, they did try to minimize this). Breakfast was good, and staff were friendly. Staff do have weak English but are very accommodating! We had dinner in Ella both nights which is a short trip down the hill. Lots of stray dogs at the hotel, but they were friendly.
