Our second visit, again around Opera in Bayreuth. This time we had an apartment which was ideal for our week’s stay. Comfortable, spacious, very clean, quite basic. There’s a good and popular restaurant serving traditional dishes in the main building and where there’s also a good breakfast buffet. Very friendly owner and staff. A lovely area. All so much more pleasant and better value than staying in Bayreuth.

This hotel is a short drive from Beyreuth. The owner left keys in baskets at the front door for arriving hotel guests. The location is very quiet and tranquil. I was in Apartment 2 in the building across from the restaurant - there is a second building up a hill. The apartment was larger than mine in NYC - sizable kitchen, living room and bedroom with a private patio. It was a comfortable space and was very clean. There was a welcome basket containing cold cuts, bread, wine, and cheese. The Wi-Fi was fast and easy to access. Breakfast, included in the fee, was a buffet, although omelets could be requested. The restaurant is also a well known dinner spot. This is a very special venue and it is clear that the owner takes pride in taking such care of the hotel and its guests. The cost of a room was a bargain compared to the fees in Beyreuth.
