Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center

What a BIG disappointment! I used to think that Marriott's were the cream of the crop but lately they have all been awful and especially this one! First we could never get connected to the WIFI and the guy at the front desk was of not help! Then, the light in the shower didn't work so took a shower in the dark! Then the small coffee maker in the room didn't work and they don't have any coffee available in the lobby until 7:00 am! What kind of hotel doesn't have coffee out earlier than that! This hotel's layout is crazy! All the suites are in a totally different building, and it is quite the maze to find it! Just an awful experience at this Marriott!

Very nice hotel, easily connected to the convention and meetings I was attending. Easy parking, good price point. Check in and out were easy, hotels worked well. Room was adequate, I looked out on the internal roof, I'm sure others had water views or city views. Bed was fine and room was quiet. Hotel restaurant was good, but other places in walking distance, although the surrounding area in not as safe as desired. Conference hotel rate was expensive.

The best hotel in Augusta by far. Within walking distance from all the wonderful dining options downtown. Rooms are spacious and what you would expect from a Marriott. Great staff that is managed well and always a pleasure to interact with. On this stay they had a smell that was o overpowering it lingered through out the convention center and into the lobby. Not sure what in the world died but the hotel had a smell of death that lingered for two days straight. It is a nice hotel that is aging in the heart of Augusta, Georgia. Elevators not working and constant signs of repair needed.

To: Marriott Augusta Convention Center CEO, General Manager It is with tremendous chagrin that I am typing this review. Sadly, the received discounted contract, through participation with the preferred AAA travel program, was poorly executed. Conflicting pricing regarding the final grand total, poor water pressure, and minimal bedding, are also other issues of concern. The room requested at the time of purchase was not provided as stipulated upon arrival, for the 2 night, 3 day July 2024 stay. A modest roll up bed was placed in the room at some point while no occupants were present and, subsequently an alarming security breach occurred. Appropriate measures are currently not in place to effectively handle ethical matters regarding video footage and/or locating, recovering personal property of clients. Incident reports should be made available in person, not just online. Also, simply asking an employee an investigative question regarding an issue does not guarantee a truthful answer in return. Additionally, the lack of concern was evident by the overall abysmal response of the hotel. In the near future I hope that prompt and immediate steps will be implemented. Credit compensation of at least 100$ respectfully, either reward points or gift cards of equivalent cost value should be given when incidents are proven. As well as, all arrival entrance door security footage should be reviewed to restore consumer trust with the organization. These are needed and reasonable solutions for the company to consider. An absolutely fantastic hotel, I stayed here for the recent Joefest convention and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Room quality is good with excellent air conditioning, amenities are good and the beds are very comfortable. The food at this restaurant is top shelf, with the chicken sandwich being a highlight on the lunch menu. Breakfast is equally as good with some incredible omelettes and steaks for dinner are simply incredible. Friendly reception staff and the hotel is very clean and tidy, maid service is excellent. Will definitely be back again for next year’s convention, thank you for an excellent stay.

Was in town 3 nights at end of May & this was a pretty good stay. I was in the Tower Suites, which was a bit confusing to get to & park at first (terrible map provided on check-in) but turned out not to be that hard to navigate after figuring it out. Ended up very close to room from parking garage beneath (be careful in garage - the concrete posts are notorious for jumping out & creasing your door if not careful pulling into spaces). Otherwise, room was fine, no complaint on noise. And that shower! Has to be the strongest water pressure I’ve ever had at a hotel & the drain worked well. That was a treat and the suite was big & would’ve slept 6 with 2 beds & a pullout sofa bed in the outer suite with door.

I was upgraded to a “Grand Suite.” The bathroom looked like a high school gym. The housekeeping staff didn't clean our room even though I informed them the toilet overflowed the night before. The plumbing was bad and shower filled up water.

The Marriott is huge that combines a building with regular hotel rooms and the Marriott Suites. To get to the suites, you have to walk through Neverland to find it which is annoying if you parked to the front. Of course no one tells you that until you take the regular elevator, get off a floor that doesn’t have the room # you belong to. The staff isn’t helpful until you ask specific questions. And if you opt for a virtual key, note that it doesn’t work on the parking lot elevator. The hotel is old school but it’s cool that it’s by the riverfront and not far from Main Street.

Dirty and run down. Room was nothing like a Marriott Bonvoy. Bathroom cabinetry was cheap plywood painted to look like a cabinet but chipped and cracked and missing paint. Bathtub had black mold and mildew all under handrails (i discovered while trying to take a hot bath. Eww). Shampoo and soap dispensers in shower were 3/4 empty. Tissue box was empty (and I assume being used for toilet paper) as toilet paper is cheap ruff texture and breaks up easily. Indoor pool was nothing like the pictures. I stayed here so my grandkids could swim indoors. Pool pictures show an elongated pool. It was a small square that could only accommodate 28 people in a stretch. Hot tub was cold and unusable. Sad because I called ahead to verify both were in good standing. Attached parking garage charging $7 for self park?? Staff was very friendly and truly went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful.
