MiraMe Athens Boutique Hotel-House of Gastronomy

MiraMe has the BEST shower we have ever experienced. THE BEST SHOWER! It comes with four different ' heads ' and the water pressure is extremely powerful so taking a shower after a hot day in Athens was an absolute joy. Usually the rainshower found in most hotels is weak, but MiraMe's jets are very forceful and steady water temperature. The other three ' heads ' are one for the chest, one for the butt and one for the legs. Then there is also one separate hand held shower head on the side. The shower room is spacious and drainage is smooth, and the door seals perfect so there is no worry of a leak. We cannot claim to be hotel experts but for the 30+ odd years of travelling and having stayed in over 60 hotels in many cities, we can vow loud and clear that MiraMe has really sourced the BEST shower model, and other hotels, even other leading hotels in the world should dump theirs and change them into MiraMe's. Locationwise, MiraMe also is very good. The main shopping districts are just 10 mins walk away where you can find famous brands as well as plenty of shoe shops. In the area are major bus stops , great variety of restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlours, pharmacies and other nice hotels. The room we had booked is ' deluxe family room with balcony ' that has a short flight of stairs leading to an attic for the 3rd person. It is a nice nook up there for some privacy with a bed and a sofa and an individual air con that provides a comfy temp. The balcony is small and not much view so we hardly used it. Breakfast is provided up on the rooftop bar cum lounge, where a young staff manned the place and served freshly made breakfast cooked to each guest's order every morning. The rooftop has a nice open view of the Acropolis and has very nice updated music that is cool but not too loud and wild. They also have a bar on the G/F serving drinks. The staff are all young and pleasant, polite and helpful and they try their best to help with restaurant bookings and recommendations etc. MiraMe is a clean and modern boutique hotel that provides sufficient toiletries to make the stay comfy and carefree. Housekeeping is discreet and the bedding is all clean and white, bath and hand towels and floors and things we touch are basically clean. Again, we cannot praise enough their wonderful shower that has to be the BEST in the whole world. The hotel is in a quiet street but in a very safe neighbourhood, so even if you return late everyone feels very secure and safe.

This hotel was recommended & they did not disappoint. From the time we checked in Katherine was very welcoming & accommodating. The room was very comfortable & larger than expected. We had dinner at the rooftop bar & it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The beef was amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an intimate, personal experience.

This was a lovely boutique hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However the reason i have not given it 5 stars is because our room was just too small! We had two big suitcases and we literally had to lay one down at a time on the floor, to get something out and then zip back up and move into a corner and then the other person had to do the same! This became very difficult when trying to get ready at the same time! The bathroom however was a decent size. You had Molton Brown toiletries and these were replaced each day. The hair dryer was a nightmare to use - the lead was too short and you couldn't see yourself in the mirror when using it which made drying my hair very difficult..... We had a balcony but the way the furniture was arranged you could just about open the balcony door and the balcony was tiny with just one chair facing into a courtyard so we never used it. The room was very modern as was the restaurant. We had breakfast and it was a very good choice. The hotel was in a good location and very close to the Acropolis and bars and restaurants. Unfortunately we would not stay here again, only because of the room size......

Spent one night at this hotel on our arrival in Athens. It’s a small hotel but the staff were welcoming and very helpful. I can’t say enough about how great they were. Hotel is walking distance from many of the sights. The rooftop restaurant/bar had great drinks and an amazing view of the acropolis. The room itself is a decent size and the bathroom was much bigger than expected. Very cozy. Would absolutely stay here again next time we’re in Athens

We really liked our two night stay at MiraMe and I have no hesitation in making this recommendation. Although the room was quite small, the bathroom was modern and a very generous size. Beautiful rooftop patio and a fabulous view of the Acropolis. We unfortunately didn't take in the patio at night owing to a private party. The Hotel is also a short walk to the train that takes you to the Port which is a bonus!

This place is in the middle of everything. The hotel is like a fortress and is very safe. We enjoyed our stay, we loved our room and the fact that we can walk towards major tourist sights. We enjoyed talking to Thanasis. He was so helpful and did no get tired of our endless questions. The lobby smelled amazing! All the staff were super kind to us.

We recently stayed at Mira Me for a brief 48 hours before catching a cruise and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The room was beautiful, the bed supremely comfortable and the rainfall shower was to die for. The staff was friendly and accommodating, checking us in earlier and checking us out later upon request. The restaurant was closed for dinner but breakfast was bountiful and delicious, we couldn't finish all that was presented to us. They even gave us box breakfast to take with us on an early morning excursion. But as with most places to stay, it was all about location and that is what stood out most to us. Located in the Thissio neighborhood with the subway a block away, there is a wide pedestrian walkway brimming with activity, shopping & restaurants. The Psiri neigborhood to the north, Plaka to the east along with Monastiraki square are all within walking distance. This was a fabulous place to stay and we hope to stay there again the next time our travels take us to Athens!
