I stayed at AmericInn while attending the Farm Progress Show in Boon, IA. It was a wonderful experience, and the hotel was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was hot, fresh and plentiful. The staff was friendly and courteous, and I especially enjoyed talking to Dawn who even remembered my name! I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Iowa. Thanks again for a very pleasant stay!

The pull out bed in our first room was rancid. It smelled like something had died in there. The front desk person was overwhelmed with issues from many guests and it took a long time for her to return to the front. The one compliment I can give was that she was very sweet and helpful. She gave us a second room and the beds in this room were even worse. Rice fell out of the sheets and you could see pizza or pasta sauce stains all over them. We ended up moving to the Staybridge Suites right down the street and it was absolutely amazing.

We were in town for sporting events over the weekend and had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It's an older property and does need to work, but the rooms were clean/fresh and the staff was absolutely amazing. The two ladies in the evening and Neil in the morning were helpful. Easy access to I-35 made it convenient for us to get to and from our games. Will definitely recommend to friends and we will be back!

Poor experience from the beginning. First room smelled like everything was wet and starting to mold, the towels felt as though they hadn’t been dried all the way. The second room they were going to change us to reeked of cigarette smoke from a long term guest. The third room was better but the shower didn’t work properly, the faucet was loose at the wall, the vanity mirror was broken and could fall down if touched, most of the outlets didn’t work, remote control was spotty; air conditioner had a grinding noise that was especially annoying and noticeable at night. After the initial switching I didn’t trust that any other room would be better. The pool looked like it needed a good scrub, the workstation was out of order, the juice machine was out of order. Everywhere you looked it seemed like something needed maintenance. For the inconvenience they gave $25 back, without even an apology for the inconveniences from the manager, which could have gone a long way. For the price we paid, we’ll be getting an Airbnb the next time we’re in town.

Friendly staff. Very helpful manager. Clean rooms. Overall a great hotel. Convenient and quiet location.

We had a bad experience at this AmericInn location. Front desk staff were not helpful and property issues such as the pool door not locking (anyone could enter) and the side entrance not locking (again, anyone could enter) were dismissed as management issues. Do not recommend this hotel. There are several other hotel chains within blocks of this location and would suggest any of those over this hotel.

I was with my family in the Ankeny area for a volleyball tournament and our team as staying at the AmericInn Ankeny. It's an older property, but clean and the staff was very kind - especially Neil! Breakfast could have better options. I will definitely be back again for work or pleasure!

Bad poop smell in the bathroom, jets in the jazzuzi did not work , jets in hot tub by the pool also did not work , poop smeared around toilet in room, several lights in the room were out , ice bucket was filled with water and bugs , mold on the breakfast biscuits, management refused to give a refund.

This is our "go to" hotel for the past two years when traveling in to see family. This trip- the hot tub is out of order. We were told at check in it was just being serviced. When my wife asked about the second day, the woman at the front desk laughed at her and said it wouldn't be ready on a holiday. And added that's what the signs are for while pointing at a sign on the counter. This would have been better disclosed on the website before I had booked. Oh well, probably going to need to find a new "go to". That's disappointing.
