I had booked a room in a bed and breakfast nearby and had problems finding the key. I went to the Oaks Hotel Bar and found an "angel" there who helped me solve the problem. Thank you! Next day we went there again. My "angel" wasn't there but other kind members of the staff gave us a delicious cod and chips meal and some wonderful Guinnes. Good prices and great service. Next time I'm staying there.

What a fantastic experience we had at this hotel. We received a warm welcome from staff who couldn't do enough to please. Fabulous carvery, great size portions, very tasty and very reasonably priced. Lovely cosy ambiance, music pitched at a perfect level. Sadly we were just passing through otherwise we all agreed that this hotel would be a firm favourite.

I never stayed in there hotel but me and partner go most Sundays for Sunday lunch and it’s always beautiful the staff are very nice one of my favourite places to go when I come to Alnwick always welcoming would highly recommend people to come and try the food here because it’s always beautiful

Our 2nd visit here for their magnificent Sunday Carvery and it was just as good as we'd remembered it from 2 years ago. Still the same lovely chef and boy does he know what he's doing! Very pleasant staff, we'd booked and specified a certain table as we had our 2 large golden retreivers with us. The food was just amazing and great value for money. Booking is a must as I believe they get fully booked which isn't a surprise at all.

A lovely small hotel with clean comfortable rooms, great food and a very friendly helpful staff and atmosphere. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can recommend the Wednesday night quiz even though it is extremely hard! Well located for trips all over the Northumbrian Coast.

We ate here for evening dinner twice during our 5 day stay in Alnwick. First night Hubbby had Steak and Guiness pie and i had a stir fry dish of the day. The pie was excellent. In fact we returned another night we both had the pie this time. The stirfry special, on the other hand at £18 was a rip off and not worth that charge. But we did go back a second time. Out side beer garden was nice too. We'd go out to placs and return there for an afternoon bevy.

Large seating area. Menu is normal pub food. Plenty of it. Enjoyed our meal. We shared a starter of haggis and black pudding bonbons which was a bit dry. My husband had the pie and enjoyed it and I had the fish and chips. The tartare sauce was really good and I wondered if it were homemade.

The room was clean, comfortable, quiet, well appointed and decent sized. The staff were friendly and attentive. We eat in the restaurant one evening, the food was good and service quick. The hotel is in a good location, a few minutes walk from Alnwick. Ideally located to explore Northumberland.

OK stay at the Oaks for a family get together but spoilt by having no hot water in the room. Reception informed us we were not the only room affected but did not offer any recompense. Really need to get the basics right and having to shave in cold water is not what what we were paying for.
