My husband and I enjoyed our lunch on a Saturday. Peaceful with a lovely sea view. All the staff members were polite and friendly, Ebony serving us was a pleasant, friendly young lady. The food was presented nicely and was flavoursome. One of our favourite restaurants to dine when visiting Aldeburgh.

The hotel experience for me was appalling. We were not staying with you however walked past and saw a sign advertising that you were open for all day breakfast. When we entered, we were greeted by a female manager who informed us that the hotel were not serving breakfast and residence today, there was no explanation as to why even when I challenged the advertising from the sandwich board outside. As a family for we were left with no alternative, but to find alternative places to eat. Based on your menu prices this is approximately £100 of loss revenue for yourselves which equates to one of your staff for an entire shift. This approaches customer centric Around any desire to be a profitable business. It’s a pity as the interior of the hotel appears lovely, but we will not be trying here again as I have no trust in you actually delivering the service offered on your menu

Go each year for a quality break. This year price up by 21% (like for like) and sadly starting to fade around the edges. Room service forgot soap and left empty box of tissues, stains on carpet, same filthy ***** of mastic hanging out of the shower tray, and bathroom window still not repaired for third year running Public areas grubby. Most (but not all) staff still charming and helpful. My wife has food allergies and normally really well treated in the restaurant (why we return). This time, not so good, the caring and personal attention not there. She waited 50 minutes from ordering on one night for straightforward fish and chips (all she could have).Staff more interested in a very rowdy birthday party. Things need to be smartened up. If they keep charging these prices everything needs to be right.

We've been visiting this hotel for about 15 years as we live locally. We recently paid our last visit to the restaurant as the food has become too expensive and, to be honest, not very nice. The staff used to be such a great asset to this hotel. No more. They are inattentive now, preferring to stand around chatting, or just downright rude. However, we also used to visit just for drinks on the terrace or coffees in the lounge. Our last visit on the terrace a couple of months ago, we were ignored by staff for 30 minutes. I had to go up to a young waiter and waitress who were standing up gossiping, to ask if they were going to serve us. They reluctantly did so. Yesterday, we went into the lounge for a coffee. After 20 minutes and no staff to be seen anywhere despite the many customers in there, a waitress came in and gave another couple some hot drinks. We asked if we could place our order with her. She barked 'We don't do table service, you'll have to go to the bar' and walked off. No apology. Just rude. This is the first time in 15 years that table service has been denied to us in the lounge. There are no signs up saying there's no table service, nothing in the menus either. I complained about the attitude of the waitress to a manager and he apologized and said he would speak to the staff member concerned. He offered us two free drinks as an apology, which I declined and went elsewhere, where the staff were friendly and efficient. Not only have the restaurant lost our custom, but the whole establishment has too. Prices too high, food dreadful but, most of all, staff need training and to be told if you're in the hospitality industry, it's be good to be hospitable to the customers, and do your chatting later.

I booked this hotel for my Mum and Dad for a night for a treat for my Mum's 80th birthday. I got them a nice large room with a sea view and they had a great time. The price point was quite high, but they loved it and commented on the friendliness of the staff and how they made an effort to make my Mum's birthday special. My Mum is originally from Suffolk and i think this was the perfect way for her to celebrate.

Went for the night with my wife in September. Room wasn't ready till 5pm. Offered complementary drinks by the very lovely and helpful receptionist. TV in the room didn't work properly. Bathroom not cleaned thoroughly. Evening meal was terrible. Fish and chips were woeful and Mushy peas tasted like egg?! Breakfast in the morning was equally poor in terms of food quality. Service levels not commensurate with price point. Public areas felt dirty and unclean. Hotel has an overall shabby feel. Wont be returning!

We had another wonderful stay at the Brudenell including a delicious dinner in the restaurant. Lovely staff and delicious food.

The Bru is like a generous maiden aunt. Whenever you need a boost to wellbeing she provides generously! The staff meet every request with alacrity. If you are mobility challenged they reserve you a parking space in their small car park. If fit both street parking and paid parking are nearby. The rooms have all recently been renovated. The views from sea front rooms are spectacular. Every comfort is provided. Dining facilities are delightful. The spacious dining room overlooks the sea. Fish dominates the ample menu, but they cater for all tastes. If you want to relax this is the hotel and Aldeburgh is the place.
