Fairfield Inn & Suites Alamogordo

We often stay at Fairfield Inns on vacation. This one is in need to some TLC. We had a very small room. Full disclosure: we were staying free on Marriott points, so I don't expect the best room in the place for free! That said, however, the room was cramped. The closet had a safe bolted to the floor, preventing suitcases from going in... so we had to keep them out in the (small) room. The bathroom floor was in poor shape. Some tiles were broken, and multiple tiles were loose, one of which actually was sticking up. This was a bit of a safety hazard. The room only had towels fro one person (and no bath mat) until we asked. The chairs in the room were uncomfortable. The place wasn't as clean as most we've seen. On the plus side, the location was good, with two excellent restaurants within a block's walk. The staff were polite. Our general sense was that it's a facility that's due for renovation... which, I'm sure, is a very expensive undertaking.

Spent 1 night there, Room and Bath room were a bit outdated. WiFi was just Ok. Deskchair was broken, Room itself was quiet, but fairly dark. Breakfast selection provided something for everyone. Staff was courteous, but Management should have look at other Fairfield's and improve the Rooms.

After reading online reviews on Google we seriously questioned staying here. We decided to form our own opinion and stopped in. The parking lot was spacious. The lobby welcoming. Stacy at the front desk greeted us and provided top notch care. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. I especially liked the tall ceilings. The bathroom had some loose floor tiles and a chipped corner baseboard, but these are cosmetic and we just worked with them. A decent fresh breakfast in the morning topped off a nice stay. Overall, 100% satisfied.

Great room. Large and clean. Place may be a little older, was clean and everything worked. Electronic checkin was done on time and xtra keys available for pickup. I know it might seem minimalistic, but everything was just done competently and as expected. Breakfast and snack store were well stocked.

I was extremely worried about staying at this hotel after reading reviews. Luckily I was relieved that the hotel was perfectly fine. It could benefit from deep cleaning in the corners and maybe a brush up on the woodwork in the bathroom/ doors but it was by no means an uncomfortable stay and overall clean throughout. It is a Fairfield, not a Ritz so if you set your expectations appropriately, you should be satisfied. The breakfast is the standard across the brand and the breakfast crew worked feverishly to keep up with the demand. Staff were very friendly. Great place to access White Sands National Park which is beautiful. Also recommend the wine bar across the road for dinner!

This place is basically a slum. OK. I get it. It's not an upscale town. But being in a poor town is one thing. Being filthy is another. I could write an entire book about this joint. The business is owned by an absentee owner -- Samir of Massachusetts. Samir owns a number of these kinds of properties along with his brother. I'm pretty sure he never visits. Or it's just not possible to embarrass a bottom-feeder. When we find a Marriott like this, usually turns out the owner is distant and doesn't personally oversee things. We stayed here about seven days. However, we checked out early because things were so grimy and "unclean" that we felt unsafe. We rents a "suite." The foto showed a suite -- you know, with cooking options, table ware and hey, even a table. When we got there, there was nothing to cook with. EVEN MORE INTERESTING: No Table! Pretty much the entire suite was empty. I asked at the desk for table to eat on. No Can Do was the nonchalant I-couldn't-care-less answer I got. And we were gonna fork over more than a thousand bucks for this dump? The stair we walked up were filthy when we got there. When we left, no one had ever bothered to vacuum them. When we decided to leave early, clerk wanted to charge us for extra days. Then she saw that we are Platinum members; that protected us. MARRIOTT SHOULD REMOVE THIS PROPERTY FROM ITS LIST.

My wife and I recently stayed at Fairfield Inn in Alamogordo New Mexico. We were fortunate to be served by Abby at the front desk. My wife is a frequent traveler and has Titanium status and noted that Abby may have been the friendliest and most helpful associate she has ever had. We had a long drive with a late arrival. I had my medical supplies shipped in advance. Abby assisted in loading our cart offered very helpful advice on dining and sight seeing options for the area. Abby also made sure that my wife received her status upgrades without prompting The next morning, she was back at the desk after only a few hours sleep and maintained her great attitude It is very often that excellent service can be taken for granted but when it goes above and beyond as with Abby it must be recognized

A disappointment. (Our 3rd Marriott stay this year. One was elegant; 2 were below expectations.) Problems with our door lock, refrigerator froze our food, no soap at sink & dispenser in shower was empty, 2 phones in the room but neither connected, window A/C that was always blowing too cold. Building showed lots of signs of wear. Heavy layers of caulk around the bathtub. Rusty light fixtures in bathroom. Evidence of sloppy repairs. Furniture showed lots of wear.

It's conveniently located from the Highway. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. I was greeted at the front desk by a young person who was so very positive and that did their best to make sure I got the room I wanted. I also was given a special elite status parking space. I've done a recent remodel of all their shower bathrooms and they're really very nice with a rain shower attachment. There are several nearby chain type restaurants that can accommodate a family and some have bars so if you're a single person you can sit and eat. Many have reasonable good tasting take out. Of course the nearby suburbs have lots of really good individually and family-owned restaurants with different types of food. They also have returned to serving a hot breakfast. It was typical fare and was hot and plentiful. They had the usual good stuff where you make your own waffles and have sausage scrambled egg and fresh fruit, juice, muffins, bagels and stuff like that. I have to say I was very pleased that the attention the staff made to making sure breakfast food was hot plentiful. I always tip the breakfast person and housekeeping, it's an old school way of thinking and I hope people consider adopting it in these times. They suggested a local restaurant for a reasonable good tasting take out. The rooms were clean and well appointed as well as modern and quiet. I would stay there again. It's fairly close some good breakfast places should you not want to eat breakfast at the hotel. When I registered I registered directly with the hotel by phone. I find I get better results with the type of room I want.
