Check-in was very smooth. In fact, they allowed us to check in earlier - about 1 to 2 hours earlier, I think. The room was already ready, so they allocated it to us when we arrived. The room itself was rather small but functional and clean, so we don’t really have any complaints other than it being a bit small. I guess this is Japanese standards. The pricing is fairly more expensive than the inns across the road, perhaps because of the location and also because it is very new. The property itself has a very nice onsen. The female onsen had a lot of apples floating in it, which was a very nice touch to showcase Aomori apples. The front desk staff are very nice and very friendly. They also have staff who can speak Chinese. Not that I am Chinese, but I can speak some Chinese better than Japanese, which I can’t speak at all. Nevertheless, the staff could converse in English, or at least some basic English. There’s free yoga and some classes, but we didn’t utilise them as it’s not really useful for tourists who would rather spend time outside the hotel. This seems more suited for locals who want a short getaway, but still a very lovely touch. Breakfast is paid separately and does not come with the room, so there is no comment on that. The property provides Nespresso capsules in the room, and there is also a better Nespresso machine near the check-in counter. I also love that they provide water for free without having to pay extra. The lounge is available for everybody and overlooks the bridge. They provide some free snacks and drinks depending on the timing - different items in the morning and in the evening. That being said, there is no alcohol being served. Also, the coffee there is very bad. I don’t understand why they don’t put the Nespresso machine in the lounge since they have one at the lobby. Overall, everything was quite perfect for this hotel. In fact, the location was the most perfect part. Once you exit the train station, you enter an elevator that goes up to the hotel. Since it was winter, I was afraid I would need to drag my bags for a long time, but it’s right outside the exit after you tap your card and turn left. If I remember correctly, the elevator is right there and there is no need to go outside at all. However, there are only two elevators servicing the entire building, so there might be some waiting time. I would advise leaving earlier if you have a train to catch. The only reason this is not a full-star review is because I requested about a one-hour late checkout due to our train time, and they told us we needed to pay - if I remember correctly, ¥2,000 per hour. I felt they were very rigid about the 11 am checkout time. To be honest, even if they had given it to us, we probably wouldn’t have used it anyway, as we later decided to change our train time to leave Aomori, since there isn’t much to do here. Still, the rejection and inflexibility made us feel very uneasy and unwelcome. I think they could have handled this better by being less rigid and more human. So that’s minus points from us. After all, this is part of hospitality, and it doesn’t hurt.

The onsen and breakfast were both incredible! Breakfast was buffet style with Japanese style food and lots of different drinks. I went to the onsen both when I checked in (closes at midnight) and then again in the morning before breakfast. What a treat! Staff were also very nice! The location is phenomenal as well as it's close to the station and main attractions. Some people have said that the bed and pillows are a bit hard, but personally like it better this way as it's healthier for my back. Room is a bit older style and kind of small but I was just sleeping there anyway and so it was fine Would definitely stay again!

I booked a room with dinner and breakfast. I got a room but it had food smell. It seems breakfast or dinner was served in the room. Room size was good. But footsteps from guest room upper floor was heard. Dinner and breakfast were not great. Onsen was ok. I checked out and dropped my luggages at the hotel. When I came back, all lights turned off. Weird. But hotel staffs were available.

Had a fantastic stay at Dormy Inn Aomori Natural Hot Spring. The location is very convenient, close to Aomori Station and within easy reach of nearby restaurants and attractions. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was cozy, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and restful. A major highlight was the natural hot spring bath—absolutely excellent for relaxing after a long day. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, with both indoor and outdoor bathing options that made the experience even better. The complimentary late-night ramen was also a great touch, adding extra value to the stay. Staff were friendly, polite, and efficient throughout. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay with great amenities and excellent value. Highly recommended when visiting Aomori!

Convenient location in centre of town, round the corner from Daiwa Roynet. Bed was very comfortable but room was rather small considering this is not a big town. Lots of bars and food choices within walking distance but not much to do in the city. The locals seem to go to the strip malls, restaurants and shops just outside the city, about 15 min drive. But bus stop to major attractions is right outside hotel - think you can get to Mishawaka airport & Lake Towada easily from here.

GGastnutzerThe overall experience was positive. The breakfast was adequate and good and eventho was until 9am, they allow you to eat breakfast past the time. The checkout time was a tad early at 10am. There are 2 nice restaurants next to hotel and Lawson convenience store nearby and a shopping place too. The best part is we could park our car for free right in front of the hotel. Its located not far from Aomori airport and you could rent a car at the airport, which is right out the gate of the airport. U can book thru Trip for your rental car. The room itself was comfortable. Bed was good, but there was a bad smoking smell all round the room. Luckily there was a filter machine in the room. Room was a bit dark and space was not much to put luggage but adequate. There is a bath tub that i could bath in which was good. They also provide free bathhouse service for guest. The only thing that could be improved is to provide free drinking water to the guest. There is no hot water and no free drinking water. You have to buy from vending machine downstairs.

GGastnutzerMy main reason to go to Ajigasawa was to visit the Takayama Inari Shrine with its snaking Tori gates. It’s about a tenth the length and size of Kyoto’s. Found this ryokan by reviews in the area. It was a toss up between this and the nearby hotel; which turns out to be run by the same group! The ryokan shows its age. But it’s very comfortable, clean and the service, especially by Noro who used his translation app so well, was impeccable! They have map of the property in English. If you drink (alcohol), it’s available in spades! There’s unlimited snacks, water, soda, popsicles, coffee, tea and alcohol for guests. The onsen is open to public, it seemed like the whole village descends after dinner to have a dip! We spent one night: dinner and breakfast were excellent!
