"I had a really lovely stay here. The hostel is in a great location, very close to the city centre and easy to reach on foot. The building itself is beautiful, cosy and full of character, with a charming old-fashioned feel.
The cleanliness was 10/10 for me. Considering that it is a hostel with people constantly coming and going, I was genuinely impressed by how clean everything was, especially compared with other hostels I have stayed in.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the common area is comfortable and cosy. There is no kitchen, but breakfast is available in the morning at a reasonable price.
There can be a little noise from the street outside, but overall this is an excellent place to stay. I would especially recommend it to women travelling solo. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay.
One extra tip: don’t spend your whole trip only in the city. If you are visiting between May and September, take one of the longer local bus routes towards the coast. The journey itself is beautiful, with wonderful countryside and coastal views, and it is a great way to see another side of the area.
I would definitely stay here again."

"Die Zimmerbeschreibung war falsch. Das Zimmer war wirklich eng für 5 Personen. Wir reservierten für 1 Doppelbett, 1 Einzelbett & 1 Bündelbett, aber wir bekommen 1 Doppelbett Bündelbett & ein weiteres Bündelbett. Es ist schwer für ältere Menschen, den Bunk zu steigen, wir endeten bis zu zahlen für weitere 2 Einzelbetten in einem separaten Zimmer. Das gab uns ein wenig Rabatt für das."

MayneNI had a really lovely stay here. The hostel is in a great location, very close to the city centre and easy to reach on foot. The building itself is beautiful, cosy and full of character, with a charming old-fashioned feel.

We booked the family room as visiting friends in the village. Well the room was more like a an apartment, with a separate room with two single beds for the kids. Lovely decor and nice bedding. The rooms were immaculate and fitted out to a high standard. Charming views of the river. We had a lovely evening meal downstairs. If you try the speciality Parmo, be warned that a whole one is definitely one for those with a big appetite. The location is great with an easy walk to local shops and centre of the village. The continental breakfast was also very generous and set us up for the day. In summary, we were really impressed with the rooms and would definitely book again for our next visit and would highly recommend it. Thank you to all the team at The Buck.

What a little gem of a place. First time visit, travelling on my own for business. Perfect location for me.
Beautiful room, very clean, warm and comfortable with plenty of towels and pillows. Big TV, easy to navigate remote!
Bathroom was spotless, nice complimentary toiletries.
Comfy bed, had a good sleep once I managed to get off, could hear other guests on the corridor, but I guess I was earlier settling in than the average on a Sunday evening (early to work Monday!)
Breakfast was really good quality, fair selection of hot and cold options, lots of fresh fruit on offer too. Very impressed, bit disappointed I arrived later on the Sunday evening and decided not to have an evening meal now!

Obwohl es auf einer Hauptstraße leicht verpasst wird, vor allem in der Nacht, da es keine attraktiven Zeichen gibt. Auf der Website Parkplatz ist sehr beschränkt, obwohl es einen öffentlichen Parkplatz ca. 100 m unten die Straße gibt. Es ist nahe dem Dorfzentrum. Das Zimmer war sauber, Größe und Dekorationen sind auch vernünftig.

We loved staying in this little hotel, a large and clean room with comfy bed and pillows, spotlessly clean and well stocked coffee and tea tray. As we stayed on Friday, the carvery was served and the food was good (the beef and roasted carrots was excellent) and plentiful with the price you can't beat. Excellent value for money, the same applies for drinks. Welcoming staff and free parking. Despite being positioned by the road , we had a peaceful night , no outside noise. We will stay again here as all together, it was a good hotel to stay in and I recommend it to others , for visits of Ripon, Fountains Abbey, Dales...

My wife and I had a wonderful 4 days at Gamekeepers Inn. The accommodation, service, location, cleanliness, staff, food, rooms, leisure centre and... well... EVERYTHING was of such high quality. All the staff were lovely and really looked after us, especially Dan (the manager) who very quickly and generously improved my accessibility needs when he learned I had Parkinson's Disease, which I had forgotten to mention when booking. A huge thank you to the staff, and to Yorkshire for being so beautiful! Can't wait to return in the future.

The location is perfect. Alternative parking was offered if needed, which it was not as we parked in the front of The George. The room was spacious (we were in number 10) with a sitting area and desk for those who require to do work ... the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was top notch ... we ordered Steak and Ale Pie, which was delicious and Fish and Chips (asked for them to leave off the fresh/mushy peas) ... the fish was enormous, fresh and very tasty ... the fries/chips were homemade.
All in all, we would highly recommend The George.

Beautifully appointed room, incredibly quiet until the kitchen fans went on in the morning, but not an issue.
The bathroom was exceptionally clean with everything needed for a long bath if required.
The amenities within the room were fabulous. An incredibly comfortable bed with plenty of wardrobe space if needed.
The only let down was a repair made to the window had left a paint 'scar' that needed repainting.
The pub was very olde wordly and fabulous.
