We stayed in hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento as the first stop in our honeymoon and it certainly set the standards! The hotel’s design and interior is contemporary and stylish and really eye catching once you walk in. The property itself is in a great location with stunning views! The views from the rooftop bar for sunset are beautiful. We used the pool which was lovely and relaxing with great service for food and drinks. We also used the beach club attached to the hotel which you have free entry to as a hotel guest and had an amazing time there! It is a fabulous addition. The room size were average but modern and comfortable beds. The staff were excellent and helped book a cooking class for us which was fantastic. However the highlight has to be the breakfast!! The selection at breakfast was the best we have experienced and the views from the balcony while enjoying your breakfast and more coffee are absolutely breathtaking!! The hotel is a little outside sorrento but there is a complimentary shuttle service to take guests there and back so this is not an issue. Highly recommend We will be back!

Einfach wunderschön. Die Lage an der Klippe mit perfektem Blick über den Golf, mit eigenem Beach und herrlicher Terrasse. Verträumter Park und stylischer Pool. Abendessen mit Blick in den Sonnenuntergang. Und dann dieses 60 er Design von Gio Ponte in Blau - Weiß, das immernoch stylisch ist und so gar nichts mit dem typischen italienischen, angestaubten Look zu tun hat. Das Frühstück, die Pizza am Meer und das Dinner sind wunderbar.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer perfekten Lage neben der Bahnhof, die überhaupt nichts nach Sorrento erreicht. Nur wenige Minuten ist der Strand der Marinella ein privater Strand mit schwarzem Sand und kristallinem Wasser, wo man sich mit Blick auf die smiley Felsen baden kann. Das Hotel ist sehr komfortabel in Bezug auf die Einrichtungen und seine Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich.

We were very nervous having read the negative reviews but I can honestly say they are not justified and we would return as would others we met there. The Hotel is very Grand in style, yes there are stains on the stairs carpet and it is faded but that didn’t affect our holiday in any way. All the staff from reception, bar, pool, restaurant and housekeeping are friendly and polite and work so very hard to please - they are happy to engage and help wherever they can. Food was very good - especially the daily meat service at dinner. We used the pool area and it was good, clean and with comfortable sun loungers. Room was clean - yes there is textured fabric wallpaper- all facilities in the room were good - powerful shower. We didn’t have a view but it didn’t matter to us. Entertainment on Saturday is so very good with the Maitre’D turning into DJ. The hotel had flooding issues when we were there and all staff stepped up and dealt with the issue so very well. The shuttle was always prompt and tried to get everyone on. You can quite easily walk to St Agnello to get the train to Ponpeill / Versuvius etc.. We would definitely return to Grand Hotel La Pace and would like to thank all the staff for making our stay so good.

One of the best hotel ever stayed in, everyone was so friendly and very professional, the room had a beautiful view and clean, food was great from the breakfast buffet and dinner at the restaurant had a great ambiance and excellent service, would recommend to friends and will definitely come back for another visit, thanks to everyone for the wonderful hospitality.

Hotel Alpha served as a comfortable homebase for excursions to the historical sites in the area, with pleasant gardens surrounding the buildings. Nearby the Sant'Agnello train station, it was easy to get to Pompeii, Herculaneum and others along the line between Sorrento and Naples. Though the journey to Naples itself is an over an hour on the train, so perhaps not the best location if you plan regular visits to the city. It is also close to various local stores, cafés and restaurants. The hotel experience itself was good for the most part, though we only really spent out early mornings and evenings here. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The buffet style breakfast offered a good choice. The evening meals had its high and low points, overall was good with daily menus that offered a lot of options. Some of the evenings was also accompanied with live music which added to pleasant atmosphere. The Gala dinner on Saturday evening was notable, with beautiful piano and a theatricality to the night. The rooms were comfortable and air-conditioning with a daily cleaning service. The balconies were spacious though the view varied by floor (I was on the first floor and it was not a particularly good view). The only faults i could mention from my one week stay was the bar, which while extensive in it's selection, I did find a bit overpriced. Additionally, there was no option to pay for drinks as we ordered and could only be put on the rooms tab, though that last point is minor. I also felt that the hotel, while very nice for the most part, did feel shabby in some areas. I felt this most prominently in the dining area, where the floors on some mornings did not look particularly clean from the previous evening and on one morning we had ants around our table. I must preface however that while this sounds bad, it was only a single instance of such severity.

I recently had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Isabella in Sorrento. The hotel was clean throughout, including the communal areas, and the rooms were modern and well appointed with A/C, safe, mini fridge, and balcony. The restaurant had a selection of good quality food for breakfast and lunch. Most importantly, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and were always friendly and ready to help. I would highly recommend a stay at the Hotel Isabella if you’re visiting Sorrento.

Prior to coming away I read the reviews and wondered how their could be such contrast between the good and bad reviews and quite honestly wondered what to expect. But on arrival found everything to be on the plus side rather than negative. On arrival there was virtually a coach full of visitors all wanting to book in. The lady behind the desk explained everything on block to everyone so that she did not hold up checkin by dealing with individual parties. It was efficient but not what many English visiter's are used to. Food was plentiful and constantly being topped up, so no excuse for saying the food was cold. If people were just a little more patient in waiting for food to be brought out and not so quick to judge. A simple solution to this would be to have a microwave accessible for people who wanted piping hot food. One the days we went out we organised a pack lunch, again an easy process and collected at breakfast. The restaurant staff could not do enough for you. We found the hotel to be very clean. We stayed on the third floor overlooking Versuvius. We did hear the television one evening from the room next door, but we were rarely in our room so it did not bother us. We never heard anyone in the corridors at night. Our room was large and refurbished. Lovely powerful hairdryer and walk in large shower. We had no complaints at all about the decor, but appreciated it is an old building that will constantly need updating. So some rooms may be better than others. The staff work really hard to make your stay enjoyable, and memorable. I think the majority of people will say the mosquitos were a problem and one they will not forget. Conversations at breakfast were often on how many new bites people had had and where. So make sure you have plenty of mosquito repellent and antihistamine spray/cream etc. Again a suggestion for the hotel citronella devices strategically placed outside may have helped reduce the number of bites individuals received. Overall an excellent holiday which is good value for money considering you are in Italy. If you had stayed in Sorrento itself, you would be talking twice as much money to stay. The hotel is a good base for using to get to visit the sites. The train station is just down the road, which we used to go to Pompeii, we caught the bus to Positano and caught the ferry back. All very easy to do without using a tour guide.
