I had booked The Bodmin Jail Hotel for my daughter's 18th birthday surprise. We weren't disappointed. From the moment we arrived, we couldn't have been made more welcome. The hotel was very quiet, probably due to being a mid-week in mid-October, so I'm not sure when the hotel is at full capacity whether the same would be said, but for us we enjoyed the peace & quiet of not being disturbed. The rooms (unsurprisingly, given the thick walls) were totally quiet and super comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, the towels fluffy, plenty of hot water and soft bath robes, along with beautiful-smelling amentities. There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but my only (very very minor) gripe was that there was literally only 1 decaf tea bag in comparison to about 10 sachets of coffee. I could have asked for more, I know, but I had brought my own so didn't bother. A complimentary mini-bar is a nice touch, too. The staff were lovely. Being so quiet, occasionally it was hard to find someone, especially when we went for a drink in the Champagne Bar in the evening, but all staff members were lovely. I had planned a surprise of some balloons and a birthday banner for my daughter in our room on arrival, and this was handled perfectly, even with the addition of a birthday cake made out of towels - a fantastic touch. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful and served in the beautiful chapel. All in all, we had a great stay and would thoroughly recommend it as an unusual destination. If you book directly with the hotel, you get complimentary access to the Bodmin Jail Museum. Be prepared, though, it's not much of a laugh (given its subject matter) and quite dark and scary, especially at the beginning, so if you don't like the dark, loud noises and being shut into underground spaces, perhaps give it a miss! I'm glad we went, though, as it really gave me an insight into just how horrific our prison system used to be.

Großes kleines B&B-Pub unser Zimmer nicht zu groß, aber hatte alles in der Seite sehr sauber Frühstück ausgezeichnet, aber vergiss nicht zu bleiben für das Abendessen viele große lokale im Pub machte uns sehr willkommen, Eigentümer immer auf der Hand, wenn nötig , absolut wieder bleiben würde

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, aber die Treppe ist sehr streng ohne Handzug. , (es ist ein sehr altes pub/Wohnung). Der Schmerz au Schokolade war aus dem Datum. Wir nahmen das zurück zu der Dame hinter der Bar, aber es wurde nicht ersetzt. Das Zimmer war nicht in der Suite, aber es gab ein wunderschönes großes WC/Badezimmer gegenüber dem Schlafzimmer, das uns gesagt wurde, war für unsere private Nutzung. Duschegel, Körperlotionen wurden bereitgestellt, die schön war. Zusammenfassend, ich denke, es sollte klar sein, dass sie kein volles englisches Frühstück machen, und dass es für Menschen mit Schwierigkeiten, Treppen zu klettern, ungeschickt sein kann.

One of the loveliest places we have ever stayed. The view from the room was dream like of the sea and beach. The friendly staff and scrumptious food just added to our stay. Highly recommend. I need not have worried about the parking. It always felt safe and secure just across the road from the Hotel. Thank you for a lovely break.

Beat am Tencreek 60s Wochenende! Fantastische Musik, gut laufen, hart arbeiten Bar-Personal, sehr freundlich! Statische Karawane sauber und gemütlich Eine unkomfortable scharfe Matresse war nur unten! Geh von der Website in Looe, nur 30 Minuten! Bus zurück! Würde nächstes Jahr für Musikwochenend zurückgehen Das Buffet Frühstück ist 5 Sterne ! Gut gemacht Tencreek !

Felt the need to post a review after reading some of the previous comments. We stayed here for one night before travelling to the Isles of Scilly. We arrived by train and the location could not be more convenient for both the station and the ferry. The town centre is also easily accessible and coastal walks in either direction are on your doorstep. Our room wasn’t large but was spotlessly clean and had everything you need. Bed was comfy and shower hot. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. It is on a busy main road but we knew this before we booked and actually found it quieter than expected. It certainly didn’t affect our sleep. The pub next door was no problem either. The price was considerably cheaper than the Premier Inn down the road and included an excellent cooked breakfast. Some people must be extremely hard to please! We shall look forward to staying again.

Ich brauchte einen Ort, um für Arbeit in der Nähe von Falmouth und Truro zu bleiben. Camborne passte. Es gibt einen Paraket namens Frosty in einer Höhle in der Bar, der mich jeden Morgen beim Frühstück begrüßte, indem er mich ein Wan#er nannte! Siehe das als Spaß, nicht beledigend. Die Toilette und Dusche waren während meiner 6-Nacht-Aufenthalte schon immer sauber. Zusammenfassend, sehr grundlegende, aber wert jedes Penny der £45 pro Nacht habe ich für B&B gezahlt und ja ich würde dort wieder bleiben.

Frühstücke sind erstaunlich - das ganze Englisch ist ein echtes Gastrobuster, aber Clare ist glücklich, das Frühstück anzupassen, was Sie wollen - Getreide, Obst und Joghurt sind Standard und natürlich untenlose Tee oder Kaffeetasse. Zimmer werden täglich gefriert - wenn Sie wollen - und das Bett war super komfortabel. Dauerfrisch handtücher sind eine Behandlung, die Sie in den Hotels in diesen Tagen nicht normal bekommen. Aber hier ist nichts zu viel Problem. Ich kann nicht warten, nächstes Jahr wieder zu gehen. Sehr empfohlen!

I enjoyed my stay very much. The room was really clean and very quiet, and the contactless experience was a big bonus. Very happy with the location and the amenities, just a short distance from the Promenade. Definitely recommend and would go back!

Linda und Steve waren perfekte Gastgeber von der schönen Willkommen, Tipps auf Wandern und Restaurants, bieten ein sauberes, geräumiges und komfortables Zimmer für die leckeren Frühstücken. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Torwood House und würden gründlich empfehlen. Wir essen in Mermaid Alley und Navy Inn, beide empfehlen wir 10/10. Wir gingen nach Mousehole und hatten nachmittags Tee im Rock Pool Cafe und gingen dann durch Newlyn zurück und ließen einen Snack im Restaurant Macerel Sky Seafood.

We only saw the owner the last morning to pay. I had received a message before we arrived, with the instructions and the number of our room. The keys of our room were left on the door and the main door was left open all the time. We don't particularly like this system, but I found this quite often around the UK and Scotland. Also, the owner was always reachable over the phone and everything we requested was done and provided. Our room was big. Breakfast was self service in the room so they provided fresh fruits, milk, yoghurt, orange juice, eggs, bread, jam, butter, tea and coffee every morning. We had a microwave, cutlery, glasses, cups and plates. The negative aspects for us were: - smelly entrance. The carpet looked very old and, together with the smell did not give a good impression - our room was big but too full of stuff. There were blankets and bed nets under the beds and all sorts of paintings, mirrors and bedside tables. It felt too full of things. There was no attention to details in terms of furniture. Mattresses were different in different beds and not great to sleep (however this may be just personal taste). - too much light in our room as the light on the corridor was constantly on and there was a big window on top of the door so it was very bright in the room. Overall, it is a good average solution if you have to stop in Penzance as it is basically on the promenade and only 10 minutes walking from the city centre.
