I love this place so much that a part of me wants to gatekeep this hidden gem. Fanzhu梵住 is a beautifully curated boutique hotel that delivers outstanding hospitality. I initially booked a 5-day stay but loved it so much that I extended for an extra day, willingly sacrificing my next destination. I was initially worried the hotel might be a ”pretty façade.” Fortunately, Fanzhu met all my needs of functionality and comfort (Breakfast, Air Conditioning, an excellent shower, free self-service laundry, an ideal location). The property is far from perfection, but it overcompensates with simple, heartfelt sincerity. You can feel the tremendous thought and effort poured into this place to make guests feel comfortable. ✨ Highlights, Who Will Love This Place: ✅#English-Speaking Travellers: For foreigners unfamiliar with China, it is extremely helpful that the owner is fluent in English. ✅#Design & Aesthetics: Warm & modern. The property exudes zen-like comfort with charming decors. It has a gorgeous yard, with swimming pool, and ample outdoor seatings. ✅#Remote workers: I didn’t plan to work on this trip, but I could see myself working there remotely. If you come from the city where every building looks like a boxy Lego piece, you will deeply appreciate this place. ✅#Personalized Service: Kudos to the young lady boss! In a place like Wanfenglin where the location pins and 导航 can be vague to foreigners, sh took the time to understand my itinerary, how I planned my routes around Wanfenglin. She gave recommendations, and helped me check my “Destination” input on car hiring app. Airport and railway station pickups can also be arranged easily too. ✅#Immaculate Rooms: THE BED! Oh my, the bed! The linens, pillows, and towels are all premium quality. Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash feel luxurious. The bed is so comfortable that I would return just for a sleep-in holiday. Ok I know I’m mentioning the bed twice but it’s worth mentioning thrice. Extra points from me that the rooms are non-smoking. ✅#Location: Before arriving, I read a review describing this place as ”a piece of tranquillity close to the action”. Now I get it. It sits as an independent building on a peaceful road/hill(?), yet it is a short, easy walk to the Bagua fields and Zhong Nahui, where you can find idyllic cafes, little shops, and children playing in the fields. ✅#Breakfast: Delicious local-flavoured noodles!They also offer more conservative standards like toasts, eggs, and coffee. Oh, the hotel has an ice machine! Ooooohh so sexy in the hot weather (apparently ice cubes are rare in Wanfenglin). ✅#The Resident Pets: As a pet lover who willingly pays to visit cat cafes, having resident dog and cats sealed the deal for me. ✅#BONUS TIP: The Rooftop Night Sky. Unassuming and rugged at first glance, I was initially unimpressed. But I heard good reviews from others, so I gave it another go, and am thankful I did! Stay awhile, allow your eyes some time to adjust in the darkness, and you would see the sky completely transforms. On my last night, I saw a shooting star! I kid you not. It was an absolutely unbelievable, unforgettable moment. Incredibly awesome! ⚠️ Considerations Before You Book (Who should avoid): - If you love standard chain hotels. Fanzhu is intimate enough to offer personalized service. But I can imagine some of my more pampered friends who prefer international breakfast buffet spread would struggle to settle for this simplicity. Some things are just not realistic expectations off a boutique. - Mobility needs: There is no elevator. They would graciously carry your suitcases. However, elderly may want to enquire about ground-floor room. - In the midst of nature: If you have zero tolerance for insects, you may want to skip staying in Wanfenglin. It is a humid, lush environment surrounded by fields and trees. Personally, with a body spray of insect repellent, I wasn't bothered at all. - Pet allergies: If you hate pets (but why would you? :( w

Me and my girlfriend got picked up at Congjiang train station which was very convenient. Right from the start the owners of the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The accomodation is located at the back of the village next to a field where they grow rapeseed flowers and rice during the year. For us the location was perfect as it is very peaceful and quiet but simultaneously litterally a few steps away from the beautiful vibrant little village. The room was very spacious and clean with a gorgeous view on the field. The interior is very well matched and has great facilities. There was even a small laundry machine so we could do some laundry ourselves. So far during our travels in China, this stay was the best we had! There is a very stylish and cute coffee/restaurant located on the first floor of the building. This is also where you will have a delicious breakfast and where Ni Li and her sister will greet you with a smile every time you walk by. Ni Li, her husband Tao Mingqing, her sister and brother played a crucial part during our stay as after the first night my wife got very sick due to an infection and barely left the room during our stay. The second night I got foodpoisoning which made the situation even worse. (Not from the hotel!). We ended up extending our stay due to her condition. Luckily Li's English is very good so that helped us a lot in navigating the medical difficulties. We were extremely lucky to be staying with Li and her family as they took care of us like we were their own family. Preparing custom meals and dinner tailored to our needs every single day, preparing us tea, calling the local doctors and translating and taking us to the local hospital back and forth multiple times. We were there during the Qingming festival so no cars were allowed in the village which made it more difficult to reach the hospital. This didn't stop Tao Mingqing as he took us to the local hospital several times on the motorbike, one by one! The last time I even forgot a bag and he even went back to get it for me! He truly is a legend. Fortunately, my recovery was fairly quickly so I had the chance to explore the village a little by myself and spend time with Li and Ming while staying close to the room for my girlfriend. On day 4 my girlfriend's fever was coming down and she improved a little. Li and Ming invited us to have tea with them. Ming showed me his vast collection of tea and made sure to prepare the best tea suitable for our condition. The tea was truly amazing and he ended up filling a big bag with different kinds of teas as a gift for us! And that was not it, to make sure we would never forget them and drink tea mindfully the Chinese way when we're back home, they gave us the tea cups we used traditionally decorated with the blue dragon and phoenix. It was a very stressful situation and when we felt at our most fragile, they were there to take care of us, strangers they just met. This says everything about these wonderful people. Even though the illness of my girlfriend and the rough situation, we think back to our stay with a very warm hearth as our special experience forged a bond we'll never forget. We are incredibly lucky to have met Li and her family. We have said thank you to them 100s of times already, but I can't express enough how grateful I am for this people. Thank you for taking care of us like your family!!! ＜3 If you are unsure about staying here, there is truly no reason why you shouldn't! Der Fußweg vom Bahnhof zum Hotel dauerte etwa 10–15 Minuten und war somit nicht besonders anstrengend. Zweitens bietet die Lage des Hotels eine unschlagbare Aussicht; sehen Sie sich dazu die Fotos an, die ich gepostet habe. Bei meiner Ankunft werden Getränke in der Lobby bereitgestellt. Außerdem gibt es jeden Abend zwei Portionen Suppe, dies hängt jedoch von der Zimmerkategorie ab; ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob dies auch in anderen Preiskategorien enthalten ist. Besonders positiv überrascht war ich vom hervorragenden Soundsystem im Zimmer. Ich kenne die Marke nicht, aber die Klangqualität war großartig, was eine angenehme Überraschung war. ⚠️Zweitens einige Nachteile: Die Wartezeit für die Zimmervorbereitung war übermäßig lang. Dies war kein Einzelfall; ich habe beobachtet, wie Gäste im Allgemeinen über 40 Minuten in der Lobby warteten. Dies könnte für ungeduldige Reisende problematisch sein. ✉️Abschließend möchte ich Ihnen einige Verbesserungsvorschläge machen. Wie in Abbildung (2) zu sehen, verfügt mein Zimmer über ein privates Thermalbad. Die Kerzen, Blütenblätter und Badebomben (die das Wasser rosa färben und duften) auf dem Foto habe ich jedoch selbst mitgebracht. Da das Hotel ein so schönes Ambiente bietet, würde ich mich freuen, wenn Sie einige dieser Annehmlichkeiten anbieten könnten. (Blütenblätter kosten weniger als 10 Yuan, Kerzen 5 Yuan und Badebomben sind mit ca. 20 Yuan pro Stück etwas teurer, und man benötigt 6 Stück. Es gibt aber günstigere Alternativen im Handel, und das Hotel könnte sie eventuell in größeren Mengen einkaufen.) Mein Zimmerpreis beträgt 2680 Yuan. Ich bin der Meinung, dass diese zusätzlichen Annehmlichkeiten das Erlebnis deutlich verbessern würden, da die meisten Gäste in dieser Preisklasse junge Paare sind. Ich hoffe, Sie berücksichtigen meine Vorschläge. Abschließend möchte ich Ihnen dennoch eine positive Bewertung mit 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 geben. Ich wünsche dem Hotel viel Erfolg und allen Freunden, die ins Dorf Miao kommen, eine angenehme Reise.

Ich kann dieses B&B wärmstens empfehlen! 1. Der Besitzer hat einen Parkplatz für uns gefunden, uns abgeholt, unser Gepäck getragen und uns zum Hotel gebracht. 2. Der Besitzer hat die Parkgebühr erstattet. 3. Das B&B ist fantastisch! Es liegt direkt am Fluss! Die Landschaft ist atemberaubend! Die Fotos sind atemberaubend! (Wir haben nachts Fotos gemacht, und der Besitzer hat uns gesehen und das Licht für uns angemacht.) 4. Der Besitzer hat unser Gepäck zusammen mit Obst aufs Zimmer gebracht! Es war sehr heiß, aber der Besitzer hat uns gefrorenes Obst gebracht! 5. Beide Besitzer waren unglaublich höflich und geduldig. Sie haben sogar einen Gruppenchat erstellt, um Informationen über die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Altstadt und Reiseführer auszutauschen. 6. Frühstück! Es gab nur lokale Spezialitäten, und die Reisnudeln waren unglaublich lecker! 7. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und neu! Insgesamt kann ich es wärmstens empfehlen! Ich werde bei meinem nächsten Besuch auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten! Dies ist meine erste herzliche Bewertung! Dieses B&B hat es verdient! We arrived in Xijiang and were immediately met with such a kind surprise—they upgraded our room for my birthday, which truly set the tone for our entire stay. We were on the third floor with the most wonderful view, looking out over their little water feature and the village beyond. Our balcony, complete with a tea set and two chairs, quickly became one of our favorite spots. Sitting there, especially in the evening, felt magical—like we were nestled among the stars overlooking the town. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the viewing platform and easily accessible down into the main village. Arriving was also incredibly smooth. As first-time visitors to China, we were quite nervous navigating trains and logistics as English speakers, but the hotel staff stepped in early with clear, thoughtful guidance. From the very beginning, they were attentive, responsive, and genuinely kind. When we arrived at the North Gate after taking the shuttle into the scenic area, a staff member met us and carried both of our bags up the hill and stairs to the accommodation. This was such a thoughtful gesture—especially because the terrain can be challenging. (For future travelers: if possible, avoid bringing heavy suitcases—but if you do, you’ll be very well taken care of here.) Check-in was seamless, and our room was extremely comfortable with all the amenities we needed. They provided water, soft robes, and made communication very easy via WeChat. Breakfast was also a highlight—we opted for the Chinese breakfast, which was light, healthy, and a perfect way to start the day before exploring all the incredible street food in town. We especially loved the communal living space—a cozy café-style area with a balcony overlooking the village. It was such a peaceful place to sit, have tea, and take in the views both during the day and under the night sky. They also had everything you could need: a coffee maker, dishes, mugs, and even fresh spring water, which was a lovely touch. The warmth of the people here truly made the experience unforgettable. The housekeeping staff were so kind, and the younger staff members were incredibly helpful and attentive. It really felt like being welcomed into a home rather than just staying at a hotel. And the little cats around the property made it even more special. On our departure day, we were running late for the last bus, and one of the younger staff members carried my very heavy bag down the hill and practically ran with it to make sure we made it on time. He stayed with us until we were safely on board. That level of care and service is something we will never forget. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you, thank you, thank you again to the family and the entire staff for your kindness and for taking such wonderful care of us. You made our short stay in Xijiang an absolute pleasure and a weekend we will remember forever.

Bad und Dusche sind hochwertig ausgestattet, mit einem kräftigen und komfortablen Duschkopf. Im Zimmer gibt es eine große Auswahl an Getränken und Snacks, alles unbegrenzt, inklusive Wein. Besonders gefallen hat mir der dezente Duft, der mir beim Öffnen der Tür entgegenströmte; das Hotel legt großen Wert auf Sauberkeit. Da wir mit dem Auto unterwegs waren, stellte uns das Hotel am Abreisetag freundlicherweise Eier, Brot und Milch zur Verfügung. Während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts wurde alles getan, um unsere Wünsche zu erfüllen. Es war ein fantastischer Aufenthalt, und ich würde dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.

Im Frühlingsfest 2026 habe ich meine Familie und meine Kinder mitgebracht, die vom Shandong Jinan entfernt waren. Ich wollte einen sauberen und komfortablen Fußboden finden, aber ich habe eine ganze Zeit warmer in dem Tal geerntet. Ich habe zu viele Hotels gelebt, nur hier, ich fühle mich wirklich, was man heißt, freundlich, warm und gemütlich. Ich bin nicht gemütlich, wenn ich gehe. Ich muss den Namen loben. This homestay is conveniently located near major tourist attractions and close to train station. Offering excellent transportation access, dining options and ideal for both business and leisure. Free shuttle service is provided for pick-up and sending off to train station upon request. The amazing and scenic courtyard is surrounded with ginko trees and colourful roses providing home-like atmosphere and fragrance of fresh-ground coffee can be smelled when afternoon tea was served. Rooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped. with complete facilities, clean & well maintained bathrooms with absence of strong odors. The unique decoration & design with good matching colours really impressed me. The stay here was beyond my expectation and definitely i will be back for the next visit to experience the 5-star home-like service again.

Die Leute im Berg können so sauber sein, ist wirklich schwer. Der Chef ist besonders enthusiastisch und hat mich noch nicht angefangen, die Fahrt zu fragen und zu organisieren. Ich kann auch das Landwirt-Essen essen, das jetzt gemacht wird, und der Geschmack des Tunnels ist auch ausreichend. Der Chef wird auch die Überführung arrangieren, und er trinkt auch seinen eigenen Wein beim Essen. Der Schlüssel ist, dass der Preis wirklich sehr praktisch ist. Ausgezeichnete Lage. Zentral in der Stadt gegenüber dem angekündigten Resort Hotel. Unser Zimmer wurde mit einem geräumigen verschlossenen Balkon mit direkter Aussicht auf ihre Showsbereiche aktualisiert. Sehr hilfsbereites Personal, das bei der Löschen der Gepäck von der Ankunft bis zum Abreisen geholfen. Sehr empfehlenswert!!!
