We stayed at Jiuhuashan Alley Homestay (Huachengsi Branch) with our family, and it was without question one of the most satisfying accommodations we have experienced in recent years. From the very beginning to the moment we checked out, everything felt thoughtful, well-organized, and genuinely welcoming. Communication was extremely smooth and responsive — no matter what time of day we had questions, we always received quick and helpful replies. For a destination like Jiuhua Mountain, where logistics and routes can feel overwhelming for first-time visitors, this kind of support makes a huge difference and immediately puts you at ease. The room itself exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, bright, and very comfortable, with a layout that worked perfectly for a family stay. Unlike many homestays that feel cramped, this room had plenty of space to relax, unpack, and truly rest. The bedding was clean and soft, and the overall atmosphere was calm and quiet, allowing us to sleep extremely well. Housekeeping standards were excellent — everything felt carefully maintained and spotlessly clean. One of the highlights of our stay was the afternoon tea, which was freely available and not limited or rushed. This wasn’t just a symbolic offering; it was something you could genuinely enjoy at your own pace. Sitting down in such a peaceful environment with tea and snacks after a day of sightseeing was incredibly relaxing. Huangshan ist mir zugleich vertraut und fremd. Ich habe dort viele Frühlingsfeste verbracht, bevor ich zehn war, doch fast zwanzig Jahre lang war ich nicht mehr dort gewesen. Vor zwei Jahren entdeckte ich die Lion Cliff Lodge, und schließlich, als meine Eltern vorschlugen, zum Neujahrsfest wieder auf den Berg zu fahren, kamen wir hierher. Die Lodge erfüllte alle meine Erwartungen: ruhig und abgeschieden, warm und doch zurückhaltend. Hier konnte ich im Morgengrauen 300 Meter den Bergpfad hinauflaufen, um den Affen, der das Meer beobachtet, zu sehen und den Sonnenaufgang über Huangshan zu genießen – einen Sonnenaufgang, an den ich mich aus meiner Kindheit erinnerte –, während der Berg menschenleer war. Ich konnte auch den Menschenmassen entfliehen, auf der Terrasse sitzen, die Sonne genießen und die gelegentlich vorbeifahrenden Seilbahnen zählen. Regen, Sonnenaufgang, Wolkenmeer, nebelverhangene Kiefern – die vier Tage, die ich hier in Huangshan verbrachte, verdichteten seine Schönheit und Erhabenheit für mich, während Yunji meine Erinnerungen an den Aufenthalt und das Essen in Huangshan immer wieder auffrischte. Ich bin schon viel gereist und habe in vielen Luxushotels übernachtet, aber die Lion Cliff Lodge ist wirklich etwas Besonderes. Wir hatten ursprünglich zwei Nächte gebucht, aber weil wir so gern geblieben wären, haben wir noch eine Nacht drangehängt. Schon bevor wir am Tag unserer Abreise den Innenhof verließen, planten wir, im April die Blütenpracht zu bewundern und im Juli die kühle Brise zu genießen. Vielleicht ist das der Zauber von Huangshan. Der Frühling bringt hundert Blumen, der Herbst einen hellen Mond, der Sommer eine kühle Brise, der Winter Schnee, wenn man keine Sorgen hat, ist jede Jahreszeit schön. The best 4 days ever! Highly recommend this hotel! We were a group of 8 people and had an unforgettable stay here. The hotel owner is one of the kindest and most helpful people we’ve ever met. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly, gave us great local recommendations, and even personally drove us to each destination! On the day we went hiking in the mountains, he provided us with free walking sticks. He helped us with everything — arranging transfers, buying entrance tickets, and planning the route. He also allowed us to check in early and check out late, which was incredibly convenient. I shared room 8303 with my friend. The room is designed for two people and had two separate beds, both very comfortable to sleep in. There was also an air conditioner in the room, which made our stay even more pleasant. Another thing we’re super grateful for — the owner kindly let us do laundry. After hiking in the mountains, our clothes definitely needed it! The view from the window was absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, full of natural light, and have plenty of power outlets. The showers were great, with clean water and convenient showerheads. There were all the necessary toiletries: body soap, shampoo — we recommend bringing your own conditioner if needed. The hotel can also prepare food for guests. We really enjoyed the tomato and egg noodles — delicious and homey. There’s also a local café nearby where we had breakfast a few times. The hotel is located in the mountains, perfectly positioned for visiting nearby attractions, waterfalls, hiking spots, and even riding quad bikes. A tip: bring a good quality raincoat if you’re visiting during rainy weather! The owner speaks basic English, and even though it wasn’t easy for him, he patiently explained everything to us in English with so much kindness and care. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — even helped us search for a lost phone in the mountains! He also called us in advance before our arrival to confirm our plans and helped arrange a transfer to the train station after check-out. Great hotel! The prettiest, greatest hotel in the area. We had a room with a balcony view to the mountains, so calming and relaxing. If you want to rest from the hustle and bustle of the city, here’s the perfect place for you. The bathroom is very clean and hygenic, and the beds are also really comfy and fluffy. The owner is really hospitable, welcoming and friendly, he is really familiar with the area so he recommended us a lot of different places and good restaurants. He helped us during all our stay. It is true that the hotel is a little bit far away from the nearest town, but it is really worth it because at the end, it is not far away (15 min by car) from the nearest Huangshan entrance. Die Umgebung ist ruhig und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Das hoteleigene Restaurant bietet durchweg hochwertige Speisen, wobei der Mandarinfisch besonders hervorzuheben ist. Der Zimmerservice ist schnell und aufmerksam. Insgesamt war es ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt. Aufgrund der hervorragenden Qualität des Deer Valley Guesthouse wechselte ich nach meiner Wanderung in ein anderes Gästehaus desselben Besitzers, Youhao Valley, um meinen Aufenthalt fortzusetzen.

My stay in Tingquan Xiaoyuan has been absolutely delightful. I booked a long stay here as a retreat and break from the work and it is exactly everything I need to unwind and recharge. The guesthouse ran by a husband and wife team are so hospitable and go the extra mile to make sure my stay here is relaxing and I have everything I need to work and go about my day. The room i am staying in is very brightly lighted with a desk for me to work. I have to say the bed is also very comfortable and I have been sleeping well every night. The surrounding is so peaceful and tranquil, with gardens and flowers and mountain peaks in the distance. I am rather glad I am staying here in the valley instead of near the centre. In terms of service, the boss is very helpful and responsive to my messages when we need to ask any question or require a pick up after the hikes. The lady boss is similarly extremely friendly, warm and kind and ensure my needs and well being is looked after every day. She cared for me like her own family. I really appreciate them going the extra mile to help a foreigner like me who struggle with the language. I would strongly recommend this lovely and cosy guesthouse to any local and foreigner who is looking for an amazing visit to Huangshan for a few days or up to a month. They will ensure you are well taken care of and your stay is absolutely delightful.

Ich hatte zunächst ein Zimmer gebucht, und am Wochenende war oben auf dem Berg kein Zimmer mehr frei. Alles war wunderbar! Die Damen an der Rezeption waren sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich, der Nachmittagstee und die angebotenen Erfrischungen waren köstlich. Schon beim Betreten des Hotels fühlte man sich dank des Designs und des Services wie zu Hause. Die Kinder durften sogar selbst Teigtaschen zubereiten und waren begeistert! Der geräumige Saal eignet sich perfekt für Familien zum Entspannen und Plaudern. Man kann dort übrigens auch Hausaufgaben machen. Wenn ich das nächste Mal wiederkomme, wähle ich auf jeden Fall die Bergsprache! Ich hatte ein tolles Wochenende hier!

Das einzige, was passiert ist, ist, dass die Treppe etwas hoch ist, wir mit den Beinen des älteren Menschen nicht bequem zu gehen und zu laufen. Unsere Hauptzimmer verfügt über eine kleine Klimaanlage und wird empfohlen, eine Schalenplatte hinzuzufügen. Am ersten Tag, an dem ich gehe, habe ich mich schon gefehlt. Sehr gute Erinnerungen.
