Die Lage des Hotels ist äußerst günstig, direkt neben der U-Bahn-Station und an einer Einkaufsstraße. So kann man bequem spazieren gehen, morgens oder abends spazieren gehen oder Sport treiben – ein wichtiger Grund, sich für dieses Hotel zu entscheiden. Alle Hotelangestellten waren sehr freundlich! Allerdings sind die Hoteleinrichtungen veraltet und entsprechen nicht dem Fünf-Sterne-Standard. Es gibt beispielsweise keinen beheizten Swimmingpool, und die Fitnessgeräte sind spärlich und alt. Die Zimmerausstattung ist mangelhaft, die Kissen sind besonders weich und niedrig, der Fernseher ist veraltet und klein, und die Toilettenartikel entsprechen nicht der Qualität eines Fünf-Sterne-Hotels. Obwohl das Hotel in einer Teeanbauregion liegt, sind die Teemarken nicht sehr bekannt. Der Waschsalon mit Selbstbedienung ist sehr praktisch, weshalb sich wahrscheinlich viele Familien für dieses Hotel entscheiden. Mit nur drei Waschmaschinen und Trocknern ist er jedoch trotz seiner Verfügbarkeit nicht besonders komfortabel. Das Frühstücksangebot besteht hauptsächlich aus lokalen und chinesischen Gerichten, was familienfreundlich ist, aber geschmacklich nur durchschnittlich.

Das Hotel besticht durch seine hervorragende Lage, die umfassende Ausstattung und das exzellente Frühstück. Parkplätze in der Tiefgarage sind bequem zu erreichen, und eine Ladestation befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Executive Lounge bietet ein angenehmes Ambiente und köstliche Speisen. Der Butler Xiaoxi war äußerst zuvorkommend und half uns, ein ruhiges Zimmer in einem der oberen Stockwerke mit Flussblick zu organisieren, von dem aus wir die Drohnenshow zum Nationalfeiertag auf dem Minjiang-Fluss direkt beobachten konnten. Ein fantastisches Erlebnis.

Grand Honor Hotel is definitely the best hotel in Shishi, but it’s not quite the same level as a luxury hotel in a bigger city. Generally the hotel is clean, but it’s the little things that I noticed, ie when I checked in, there were some sweet wrappers next to the bowl of sweets that weren’t cleared away. That said, the sense of space is evident in the hotel lobby, lifts, corridors and most importantly, the hotel rooms. Rooms are very spacious and well-designed, although the closet area can definitely do with brighter lights. Most amenities are provided but what put me off is that many items that would have been free in other hotels at this price-range aren’t free at Grand Honor. There is a Chinese tea set on the table and usually the loose leaf tea is provided for free but it cost ¥15 per packet. Honestly it’s not a lot of money for us, but on the flip side, surely the hotel can provide a bag of tea leaves for their guests. There are the standard free single-use packet tea in the drawer so at least there’s that. In-room slippers are not to be taken out; they’d charge you if you do - and that’s fine, but the slippers are actually really uncomfortable to wear. The small plate of fruits (banana, plum and mandarin) given at 5pm every day is a nice touch. The hotel breakfast is probably the highlight. Set on the 22nd floor with panoramic views of the city, breakfast is very enjoyable. The food quality is pretty good, but a real surprise here is the sheer diversity of food. The bread selection alone has 5-6 choices (pastries, brioche, baguette, square toast, etc), the cooked food section is almost endless (and there’s cooked Chinese vegetables! 👏🏾) and then there’s the fruit selection at the end too. My only gripe is that the coffee machine is a bit slow, and there’s only one machine so there can be a wait for coffee. Location of the hotel is a little odd; good restaurants and the main mall is about 15 mins’ walk away. There aren’t many good shops to wander around nearby. Generally, this is a solid hotel for this price point. Excellent service with very fast food delivery (using the ubiquitous delivery robots) and friendly front desk staff.

Isak welcomed us personally at the pier when we arrived at Gulangyu, and to my surprise, he was also the one who escorted us all the way back to Xiamen at the end of our stay — taking the ferry with us and helping us with all our luggage. He prepared mosquito repellent and medicine before our tour, wet wipes before we depart, always on hand with umbrella for us to beat the heat. That level of care is rare and deeply touching. All the butlers were very sincere and passionate. We have no words. We feel truly blessed to meet all of them. The property itself was immaculate — serene, elegant, and as uniquely charming as a Lohkah hotel can be. Lohkah remains my favourite hotel brand in China, not because of the architecture alone, but because of the people who bring these beautiful spaces to life. I will never forget the sweetness of this team: preparing a lovely tiramisu cake for my birthday, picking us up from a tea store when we got lost on the island, and accompanying us to the most beautiful sunset spots in Gulangyu. They made us feel less like guests and more like dear friends visiting from afar. Isak, Yuki, Leo, and Harlan — thank you for making our stay so remarkable, lovely, and unforgettable. Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Xiamen Software Parks, ganz in der Nähe von Baolong One City und bietet eine hervorragende Verkehrsanbindung. Im Erdgeschoss befinden sich ein Pupu-Supermarkt und eine Einkaufsstraße. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig und bietet eine große Auswahl an Speisen. Nachts ist es sehr ruhig, sodass man ungestört schlafen kann. Der Softwarepark liegt direkt nebenan und ist daher gut mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen.

Wir waren in 2 anderen Ländern in Asien, aber das war weitgehend unser bestes Hotel! Wir blieben mit der Familie und wo wir unverzüglich mit einer warmen Tasse Tee grüßten. Wir hatten viele Fragen zu beginnen und brauchten einen Fahrer für den Rest unserer Reise, und der herzliche Servicemanager war so hilfreich und sie organisierte sogar einen all inclusiven Fahrer für uns. Auch Linda & Ashley aus dem Hotelteam half uns bis zum höchsten Ausmaß und blieb sogar mit uns über Wechat in Kontakt, obwohl wir bereits Fuzhou verlassen, nur um sicherzustellen, dass unsere Reise reibungslos läuft und wir genießen eine tolle Zeit in schönem China. Es ist nur hervorragend und hervorragender Service! The hotel is centrally located with easy access to public transportations, such as buses, train stations, and the subway, the famous hot spring park is nearby. There are abundance of restaurants within a short walking distance. While the hotel amenities may not have been updated to five-star standards, it was clean and spacious enough for a comfortable stay. The breakfast selection was great. The check-in process and English communication were easy. Overall, I found this hotel to be a fantastic value for the price.
