Very clean and quiet hotel with pleasant reception staff and probably easy to access by car. Not so easy to get to by foot from Cardiff Bay station as extensive building works have closed off original pedestrian footpaths and lighting at night not very helpful. This is not the fault of the hotel but is something to be aware of.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had such a great time. The hotel is in a strategic location in the city centre, very close to many stores, restaurants, and pubs. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was decent, and the room had good amenities, though it was a bit congested. Thankfully, I was staying alone, so it wasn’t an issue. There’s no parking available at the hotel, so if you’re travelling by car, I recommend parking at Cardiff Central Train Station Carpark, it’s just a 2-minute walk and reasonably priced.

Stay here for a night but the service is beyond my expectations. I got a free upgrade to the larger room than what I've reserved with three beds, castle view through the window, they brought my luggage to the 3rd floor for free as well cause there's no lift in the hotel. Perfect, would recommend you to stay here!

很滿意的一次入住。 酒店位置很好，離火車站和巴士總站步行衹要五分鐘，走到卡迪夫城堡也在十五分鐘以內。附近有好幾個超市和餐館，非常便利。雖然攜程上點評不多，但是我入住的時候看到酒店生意很好，住店的外國遊客很多。 酒店房間很寬敞，足夠攤開兩個拉桿箱，床也很大，足夠兩個人睡。雖然酒店位置靠近街道和火車軌道，但是房間裏很安靜：走廊裏鋪了地毯避免響聲，窗户和牆壁隔音也很棒，入住兩晚，沒有聽到任何火車或者街道上的噪音。房間窗户望出去視野很好，可以看到卡迪夫灣。屋子裡有空調，製冷制熱都可以。房間沒有飲用水，但是可以到酒店一層免費接檸檬水喝。 幫我辦理入住的前台很熱情友善，主動介紹了卡迪夫城堡當天舉行的活動，並講解了過去的路線。很遺憾我忘記他的名字了，衹記得是一位年輕的白人男性，不戴眼鏡。我這次在英國好幾個城市旅行，住過的幾家酒店裡，這家酒店前台絕對是最熱情的。 美中不足的是，酒店一層每次衹有兩個員工同時在，而一層又有酒店入住，又有餐館、酒吧，還有自動售貨機和行李寄存，感覺員工們很忙很忙，無論是餐館點單、結賬或者入住、拿行李，都要等三五分鐘，他們才能過來。員工們很友好很盡責，但確實很忙，酒店如果能多安排一些員工在一層就好了。

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE STAYED AT ”THE HOTEL INDIGO” & IT WILL DEFINATLY NOT BE THE LAST! WE CANNOT FIND ANY FAULTS WITH THIS HOTEL AT ALL. THE STAFF ARE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY & GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO BE HELFUL. EVERYWHERE IS SPOTLESSLY CLEAN, EVEN THE SHOWER GEL SMELLS REALLY NICE! THE BREAKFAST IS THE BEST IN CARDIFF, AS FAR AS WE ARE CONCERNED, SO MUCH CHOICE, & ITS ALL LOVELY, DON'T KNOW HOW THEY DO IT. THE CENTRAL LOCATION IS SUPERB FOR ALL ATTRACTIONS & PUBLIC TRANSPORT LINKS. THANKS FOR A PERFECT BANK HOLIDAY BREAK, SEE YOU AGAIN VERY SOON 😊

Staff were amazing!! Can’t thank them enough for guiding us along this trip. Sadly the room was not up to standard, Really disappointed with the bathroom, silverfish in the sink and bath, shower was unusable due to clogged trains, beds were clean. Room included iron and board alongside other little amenities. General hygiene of the hotel was great, downstairs was beautiful, although we didn’t eat/ drink from the bar and restaurant it did look very nice. View was beautiful but would’ve been nicer if the windows were clean and hairless.

Great location, convenient for sites. Good rate which included breakfast. Difficult to get to by car. Using Waze is much better. Didn’t get the room type booked but managed for 2 nights. Agent at checkin took several minutes before acknowledging me in the queue. I would have been happy being told ”I’ll be with you in a few minutes” instead of being ignored whilst he chatted with his colleague about what seemed to be an issue. I believe because he was distracted, we weren’t given any hotel information - i.e. location of lifts, breakfast time etc. which is standard. Breakfast service wasn’t great the first morning. Second morning was much better. I think it’s because we arrived at approx. 10:30 on the first day and the team was ready to go as I could hear them counting down the minutes to the end of their shift. No hot drinks offered; told drinks were on the buffet when in fact they needed to be ordered. Drinks eventually brought on asking again, but no cups. Had to ask for them. Quite noisy at night because of all the bars and restaurants outside, which meant the window couldn’t be left open, as the room was quite warm, despite adjusting the temperature of the HVAC system. Very nice, modern hotel, could improve with better staff training.

Wir gingen zum Royal Hotel, ohne wirklich zu wissen, was zu erwarten ist.  Es ist mit einem schönen Gebäude eingerichtet. Die Architektur ist schön.  Das Hotel ist in einer seltsamen Weise ausgelegt, aber ich denke, das hilft dem Charakter. Sie gehen in den Boden, gehen Sie zwei Etagen auf die Rezeption. Es gibt eine kleine Bar, die kostenlose Tee und Kaffee bietet.  Die Schluck- und Lettuz-Treppe bietet Ihnen 20% Essensfreiheit, wenn Sie Ihre Schlüsselkarte zeigen.  Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und wissen über das lokale Gebiet.  Die Lage ist gut und weil wir im vierten Stock waren, konnten wir nicht den Lärm für die Straßen unten hören.  Das Zimmer war ok. Klimaanlage im Zimmer mit Tee und Kaffee.  Jetzt zwei große Punkte, die ich gerettet habe...! !!  1. Die Dusche! Lassen Sie mich Ihnen etwas sagen, das ist wie ich in einem Typhon sitzen, Cardiff hat eindeutig kein Problem mit seinem Wasserdruck!  2. Das Bett, es war luxuriös, ich konnte so gesunken und schlafen so gesund! Wir brauchen dieses Bett für unser Haus!

The hotel is located in a very nice area where it’s easy to get a taxi or walk anywhere within the town. However, the mobile signal was quite weak, and the hotel Wi-Fi kept disconnecting - I had to log in again every time, which was quite inconvenient when trying to work. The room had a strong smell of rubber or leather, which made me feel sick and gave me a headache throughout my stay. The shower drainage didn’t work properly - no other drainage hole in the bathroom, and it eventually overflowed. I had to call the maintenance team to fix it. After lying on the bed for a short while, I noticed red, itchy patches on my face, almost like insect bites. I later found out that strong detergent used in washing the bedding can sometimes cause skin irritation. That night, I slept with a clean towel over the pillow and asked for fresh bedding the next day. Although my companion didn’t have any issues, I’d recommend anyone with sensitive skin to cover the pillow with a clean towel just in case. Overall, the services provided by the hotel were not bad, but the condition of the room and the reliability of the Wi-Fi definitely need improvement.
