I had stayed here before the pandemic about 3 times. The property is very clean, it is located in the older ”colonial” part of the city. Traffic in this area is a nightmare due to the narrow streets. SAFE area, police presence all over. The GOOD: Clean, Safe, Staff Friendly, plenty of places nearby to eat. Breakfast supplied is ample and of decent quality, food for linch or dinner in the hotel restaurant is good though limited menu, space for seating is very limited inside the restaurant, water pressure in the shower is excellent the room safe is large. The BAD: Room Small like an IBIS, Bathroom smaller than an IBIS, A/C in my room was ”marginal” at best and previous stays here noticed this, Elevator very slow, the worst part this is not a business hotel. While the Internet provided is decent, there is NO work space available at all in the rooms. NO electrical outlets available all are hidden behind furniture or the bed and no desk type area. Had to charge my phone in the bathroom outlet and use computer on battery. Also had a room phone and minor toilet issue which I reported twice and nothing was done. DO NOT have the hotel arrange for the hotel taxi to drive you to the airport cost is $50.oo ! Make your own arrangements or get an UBER. CONCLUSION: While on vacation for a couple of days this is a Nice place to stay and see the colonial sights and enjoy the atmosphere. However, ”on business” this is not the place to stay. I will be returning on business for a longer stay in late January or early February, unfortunately I will have to stay elsewhere.

I’m all for a colonial experience but not when it’s overpriced. El Beaterio is charming and feels authentic. Old wooden beams, clay tiled floors, wooden armoires, four poster beds which were surprisingly excellent. Even the bathroom was clean, had great water pressure & temperature. WiFi worked well enough. I suppose my issue with El Beaterio is how cold and unfriendly the service was all around. Reception was frosty and all business. They were quick to ask for a 50$ deposit even before they asked for my passport. And the front desk guy was also too quick to push for a tour HE was guiding the next day even if his English wasn’t particularly a strong point. Breakfast, while good and hearty, was again served with nonchalant silence. I suppose management doesn’t care much for attempts at warmth or sincerity —but what stings is the price. One would expect just a bit more from a property that charges 100$usd per night especially around Zona Colonial where there are plenty of choices. So go ahead and book if you’re in for the “colonial” experience. Just don’t expect old world charm or regular world friendliness or professionalism.

One of my favourite hotels in Santo Domingo. Perfect for location and if you don't want to spend 3 figures a night for a 5 star hotel. Renovated a few years ago, the rooms and decor are exceptional. The hallway can be noisy but that's due to the construction of the building as it does have some history. Breakfast is a combination of hot and cold and is served on the rooftop. Once again, staff are very helpful and attentive and I couldn't fault them for anything. Reception is always friendly and helpful. All rooms have a minibar and a safe but if the prices are a little steep then theres a National store in El Conde where you can buy all your needs at local prices. Your 5 minutes walk away from the centre of ”El Conde” or ”Zona Colonial” where there's quite a few US food chains such as Domino's and KFC as well as a lot of boutique shops where you can find something to your liking. Highly recommended 3/4* hotel with 5* service

La experiencia ha sido muy buena. El personal muy profesional amable y atento. Tengo que destacar varias personas del equipo de servicio del hotel. Desde Yoel, que se hizo cargo de mis maletas. Hasta Yolanda una camarera muy profesional. La encargada de la limpieza de mi habitación, Virginia, increíble los detalles de tenerme la habitación a mi gusto desde el primer día. Y la persona que me hace especial en los desayunos y almuerzos es de nombre DIVINA, su nombre define su profesionalidad atención y modales, un hotel destaca de los demás gracias a sus empleados y he de decir, que este hotel es de los mejores que he visitado.

Minus: 1. Zimmer 316: Die Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht. Die Fernbedienung war defekt und das Display unlesbar, daher konnte die Klimaanlage nicht bedient werden. Da das Hotel ausgebucht war, konnte uns kein anderes Zimmer zugewiesen werden. Wir mussten die Nacht mit nur einem Ventilator im Zimmer verbringen. 2. Der Ventilator schien anfangs nicht zu funktionieren, aber das Personal konnte ihn reparieren. Als er dann lief, war er allerdings sehr laut. 3. Kein Spiegel im Zimmer. 4. Ein Fenster zeigte zum internen Hotelflur, das zweite Fenster befand sich im Badezimmer und führte nach draußen. Plus: 1. Beide Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption waren sehr freundlich, besonders der Nachtportier, der uns bei den Problemen mit der Klimaanlage und dem Ventilator geholfen hat. Beide sprachen gut Englisch. 2. Der Fernseher bot einige englischsprachige Sender. 3. Ein Aufzug ist vorhanden und das Zimmer bietet die grundlegenden Annehmlichkeiten. 4. Die Lage ist hervorragend und es gibt ein gutes lokales Restaurant in der Nähe.

Ein Hotel mit ausgezeichneter Lage und mit allen verfügbaren Dienstleistungen. Die Service-Verhalten aller Mitarbeiter macht es zu Hause zu fühlen. 100% aus allen Sichtweisen empfehlenswert, neben der historischen Bedeutung für unsere heutige Zeit GRÜBLICHE ESTÁNCIA !!

Fueron muy diligentes solicite que me hicieran algo especial para el cumpleaños de pareja y me guardaron todo listo! Parqueo accesible, buena ubicación con lugares cerca de recreación El desayuno estuvo bien; la vista de la habitación espectacular 🧡 El único inconveniente fue que el agua caliente no funcionó y solicite cambio de habitación y en la otra habitación tampoco funcionó el agua caliente! Y la claridad de la luz del pasillo entraba por espacio de puerta de la habitación! general
