Es war ein sehr geräumiges Hotel.
Der Pool hatte eine Rutsche und ein Sprungbrett, sodass ich auch an Tagen, an denen ich früh ins Hotel zurückkam, Spaß haben konnte.
Die Zimmer waren sauber und die Bettwäsche wurde täglich gewechselt. Die Handtücher wurden nicht gewechselt, deshalb musste ich an der Rezeption danach fragen.
Die Dusche hatte einen starken Wasserdruck und ich konnte die Temperatur einstellen, was sehr angenehm war.
Von der Stadt aus benötigt man ein Taxi, das etwa 15–30 US-Dollar pro Strecke kostet.

Mir hat das Hostel sehr gut gefallen und ich habe mich dort von Anfang an sehr wohlgefühlt. Besonders schön fand ich die familiäre Atmosphäre – durch die kleinere Größe wirkt das Hostel sehr persönlich und gemütlich.
Abends gab es regelmäßig Events, was eine tolle Gelegenheit war, andere Gäste kennenzulernen. Das gesamte Team ist sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit, sodass man sich jederzeit gut aufgehoben fühlt.
Ein kleines Highlight für mich war die vorhandene Wäscheleine, da ich meine Kleidung lieber an der Luft trockne als im Trockner. Auch der freundliche Hostel-Hund sorgt direkt für eine herzliche Begrüßung und trägt zur entspannten Stimmung bei.
Insgesamt kann ich das Hostel sehr empfehlen und würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

Die Lage des Hostels war großartig, direkt im Zentrum von wo Sie sein müssen. Das Personal war nett und hilfreich. Allerdings war der Hostel Standard nicht bis zu dem gleichen Niveau wie die Lage und das Personal. Die Zimmer waren mäßig sauber, wir hatten eine massive braune Farbe auf unserem Bett, als wir ankamen, die Duschen und Toiletten hatten Form und Klumpen von Spidern und Spider Webs überall. In den Ecken, auf den Decken, in den tatsächlichen Toiletten und Dusche. Dass man bekommt, was man zahlen kann, ist eine der billigsten Hostels in der Airlie Beach, so dass man aufgrund der preisgünstigen Lage eine gewisse Reinigung opfert.

Hotel is next to star casino and walking distance to board beach. Hotel is looking pretty new and in fact, has been opened for few years.
The only down side was the house keeping on one of the night. We booked for 3 rooms for 3 nights, on the first day, the house keeping was completely messed up. 3x Rooms did make up (partly) with soil towels (one of the room only has bed tidy up, nothing else) and etc were collected, however, no cleaned towels replaced, bin still full.
Without this drama, this hotel is good.

Schöne Lage. Nur zu laut, wenn die Leute umgeben, die Lautspiele lieben. Als ich zum Hotel kam, sagten sie mir, dass sie nicht mehr Frühstück machen, obwohl es in meiner Bestätigung enthalten ist, die mich zunächst recht schockiert machte.

Wir hatten drei Zimmer gegenüber von uns, und in jedem waren mehrere Teenager, die extrem laut waren. Nachts haben sie geschrien, geklatscht und einfach alles durcheinandergebracht. Nachdem wir versucht hatten, mit ihnen zu reden, wurden sie nur noch unhöflicher. Als wir die Rezeption um Hilfe baten und ein bärtiger junger Mann kam, hat das nicht nur nichts gebracht, sondern wir haben nicht mal eine Entschuldigung vom Hotel bekommen. Das war sehr enttäuschend.
Wenn Sie es ruhiger mögen und gut schlafen wollen, sollten Sie lieber in der Nähe von Palm Cove buchen und diesen Ort meiden. Es war ein sehr frustrierender Ruhetag; ich hatte Kopfschmerzen und konnte fast gar nicht schlafen.

Nice hotel in a good location. Staff were friendly. Well layed out pool and bar/meals area. As with everything in Airlie, did is quite expensive but they did decent sized portions. The rooms are quite small, particularly the shower door which is a bit awkward to get around unless you're slim. No room service during our 3 night stay. Bed is comfortable with plenty of pillows and a good sized smart TV. Overall it was a nice place to stay

Vor dem Check-in verpasste ich den Check-in an der Rezeption, da mein Flug Verspätung hatte. Ich rief jedoch einen Tag vorher an und traf zufällig eine chinesische Mitarbeiterin, die mir den Zugangscode und den Safecode für die Zimmerkarte gab. Sie war sehr geduldig. Ich spreche der Dame an der Rezeption meine Anerkennung aus.

Das Zimmer ist sehr schön, 1,35 Bett im Doppelzimmer, das Bett ist sehr weich, sehr bequem, sehr freundlich! Die Reinigung erfolgt sehr zeitnah, großartig 👍Das Gebäude ist etwas alt, ich habe eines Tages Ameisen auf der Fensterbank gesehen 🐜
Doppelzimmer Deluxe, Zimmer über der Rezeption, zur Straße hinaus, aber nicht zu laut; wenn Sie in einem halben Jahr wiederkommen, können Sie ein Zimmer mit Meerblick buchen, der Swimmingpool mit Meerblick befindet sich derzeit im Bau.
Ich lobe das Frühstück noch einmal, es gibt tatsächlich Gemüse 🥬, was ein Bonus ist, es ist perfekt für chinesische Mägen
Nur wenige Schritte vom Strand entfernt, geeignet für Strandspaziergänge und ideal zum Fotografieren

KKakoeGreat location with an easy walk to the beach, central Surfers Paradise, and access to the tram to other parts of the Gold Coast. The apartment was clean with an excellent bathroom and shower. The towels were great too - new and fluffy.
The furniture in my room was dated, the mattress was old, uncomfortable, and should have been replaced a decade ago, and the apartment lacked any style or decor. I'm not sure if it was just my apt #910 but it didn't look like the online pictures.
Overall it served its purpose but was fairly uncomfortable and drab.

GGastnutzerThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

Please note the lift is currently under construction so you may need to use the stairs, the stairs are not suitable for children as they have horizontal rails with large gaps. The restraunts buffet looked like it had a decent selection but we did not have it as it was $16each our two and three year olds.

AAnaretaBeautiful gorgeous apartment. We booked the beachfront view and it was absolutely perfect. Unobstructed view of the ocean + tennis courts. Pool was warm, clean and refreshing. Beautful long walk by the beach to Surfers Paradise. Bus stop a minute away to go anywhere in GC.
Service by Luke, the young blonde guy at reception was a 2/5. We were given a room that didn't have a working dishwasher & dryer. Luke didn't even attempt to make any suggestions to help us. We had to return the next day to ask the older lady if we could use another dryer as we had a lot of wet clothes from being at the beach daily and at the pool.
Our first day, we loaded the dishwasher and left for town only to come back to a flooded kitchen. We cleaned up without making a fuss. Service needs to be better.

GGastnutzerThis was not our first stay and in the main it was good. We stayed twice on this trip with a stint on Magnetic Island in between. Service on our departure stay was while not bad was marred by the gentleman who was abrupt and less than enthusiastic about being helpful. We arrived in the morning knowing we couldn’t get in until later and were greeted by a friendly and helpful reception attendant. Who said we would let us know by text as soon as a room was available for us.
We took that to mean if we could enter our room before the scheduled check in time we would get a message. We never got a message. In fact we had ran out of ways to entertain ourselves and keep cool with just under an hour to check in time. So we went to the reception to assign the room was ready and were grumpily informed our room wasn’t ready and that is why we had not had a text. We understood this could be the case but the summary dismissal was far from reasonable customer service. No apology given we had patiently waited for over four hours already. We waited in the lobby and watched as others were given rooms. Why we had to wait while others did not was given no explanation and made no senseh to us. When check in time came and went is when I had to contain myself. One thing for us to be shunned for being early but for them to tell our room was not available at the time the business had committed to was very frustrating. It showed they had no system and were unprepared to provide reasonable customer service. We waited patiently and thankfully not for much longer and maintained our positive countenance. Thank goodness the room was,while only on the first floor, the better of rooms we had stayed in and worth the wait had it been managed better. If it weren’t for the grumpy reception we would have rated this trip more highly. Hopefully this business can get its cleaning process and attitude to customers of male staff improved the location value and room would be highly recommended as is a little work to do.

TTraveller354After reading very mixed reviews, we went ahead and booked it. The result: very mixed feelings.
The location was beautiful, the sights breathtaking, the animals adorable, but when it came to actually spending time there, there wasn’t much to do.
We arrived on a later ferry so we knew we wouldn’t have much time to enjoy the sun after arrival, however because of a mix up, our suitcases went missing for an hour making us miss any chance of getting in the pool while it was hot out.
After, we went for dinner. There are only 2 restaurants available, and without making a reservation before hand, it’s a bit hard to go when you want. The food was ok, but expensive as one would expect from a place like this. Once dinner was finished, the evening entertainment (Alice in Wonderland screening) was already underway and we found ourselves with nothing to do at 9pm.
Early night for us.
The following day we planned a day of snorkelling, stingray feeding and kayaking.
We appreciated the free snorkel gear as well as the clear safety instructions and recommendations of the lifeguard. The sting Ray feeding experience was amazing and it was clear the staff knew what they were talking about and were passionate about the animals.
Kayaking and other water sports were cancelled however because of the high winds, leaving us, once again, with nothing to do. Early dinner (very entertaining moment with wallabies attempting to steal our food and being super cuddly), a walk around the beach, movie in the room, and early bedtime.
So all in all, beautiful location with great experiences of the weather allow, make sure to bring some entertainment if the water is too cold to swim in the pool or the weather turns sour. Maybe a book or some board games?
Also: if you want food in the late afternoon, make sure you bring some snacks as there is a limited selection available.

JJairodiazIts best feature is its location, steps from the beach. However, it's a hotel that has been downgraded; some rooms and hallways are in dire need of maintenance. I didn't realise the pool area no longer belonged to the hotel, which was a disappointment. I feel the price is high compared to other places with more amenities and more modern facilities. Breakfast was average as well.

TTheobaldDies ist ein fabelhafter Ort zum Verweilen. Wir haben uns für ein Studiozimmer mit Meerblick entschieden und es hat sich wirklich gelohnt. Obwohl wir spät ankamen, kontaktierten wir die Mitarbeiter an der Tür und sie sprachen uns durch den Check-in-Prozess. Der Service war durchweg nett und aufmerksam. Der einzige kleine Nachteil war, dass die Zimmer nur alle 8 Tage gereinigt werden. Als wir jedoch nach frischen Handtüchern fragten, wurden diese gerne zur Verfügung gestellt. Der Poolkomplex ist sehr schön - der Pool ist im Winter etwas kalt, aber der Wellnessbereich war komfortabel und wir haben die Sauna wirklich genossen. Das Frühstück war im Preis inbegriffen, und wir hatten die Wahl zwischen drei Cafés in der Anlage, mit leckerem Essen in allen dreien.
Wir können es kaum erwarten, zurückzukehren!
